If say that they'd have to fight to get back into a winning team, but we know fine well that JBA is making 5 changes on Saturday. 😄
The African
Any kind of win will be very much appreciated. St Mirren got the better of us in the semifinal but we would be foolish to get wrapped up in any thought of revenge. We simply have to concentrate on finding a way to beat them for our own benefit now. The past is in the past and there is nothing we can do about it beyond learning from it and using that knowledge to our advantage. They will undoubtedly have a plan for us on Saturday and should prepare accordingly. I am confident that JBA will be ready both with a gameplan and a few ideas to mix things up should they be required. Here's hoping we can start 2026 with another win to keep the feel-good feeling going. I think we can do it, though it will undoubtedly be hard fought.
texanwellfan
This is the kind of game we need to win to keep up our push in the top 4.
Stuwell2
Very difficult game, SR knows how to set up a team not to lose, they’re a team we’ve failed to beat this season and last night they could have walked away from Ibrox with a point. That said hopefully we can get the 3 points but it won’t be easy.
Ya Bezzer!
With Rangers, Celtic or both definitely dropping points this is a big game for us and a win could be potentially huge. St. Mirren are a bit of a bogey team for us, we've not beaten them in 2025, and they always make it tough and I wouldn't expect anything different this time. However this team just looks like they don't give a fuck who they are playing and our home performances have been excellent minus one half against Falkirk. Like I said ending the year on 36 points would be massive.

If we can beat Celtic with 4 right backs and no strikers he can probably walk on water! 😆😆😆 1

Some if their fans (and one of our former captains) were a little less than magnanimous after the semi final. So I would "really really love it if we beat them now" 😆😆😆

grizzlyg
This is going to be a difficult game as Robbo will set them up to be difficult to play against. He done a job on us for the semi final so we will hopefully get revenge
wellfan
We owe these lot an absolute doing. Bring it on.
Andy H
5-0 to the good guys, they are getting an utter doing as revenge for the Semi

He done a job on us for the semi final so we will hopefully get revenge I think he only did a job on us because of that first goal they got (which they shouldn;t have because the free kick that led to it wasn't a free kick and was also taken from the wrong place). After their opener, we had to chase and that gave him the chance to do stuff he couldn't have done if it was still 0-0 and we had to leave ourselves a bit more exposed in search of the equaliser, which kinda made it easy for them. I think people give too much credit for their 'tactics' in that game. Their tactics are just what they normally are, batter the ball up at two big guys and hope it sticks or you win a second ball. If the dubious opener hadn't been allowed, his tactics would never have been discussed. Cunts ! I will never give them credit for anything ! thewelllfan
I think stylistically they're our hardest opponent they sit deep and break well with big powerful boys all over the park. You seen in the semi final Robinson had worked out how to disrupt our build up and they're a massive threat of set peices. Team for me would be Ward SOD Mcginn Welsh Longelo Watt Fadinger Just Slattery Said Stama Maswanhise off the bench if the game opens up is a great weapon to have and lets him have a bit more recovery time after his travels from AFCON
Lobey_Dosser
I wonder if the home gate could touch 7k on Saturday. Aside from all the warranted euphoria around the performance against Celtic, it was so refreshing walking up to Fir Park and not feeling outnumbered by that lot. Keep Stama on bench as st mirren too physical for him. Keep priestman in
texanwellfan
Regardless of team selection I think the key is for us to score first. if they score first, it could be a repeat of the semi game. The Ibrox game Last week was similar to the semi except Rangers didnt get the break of the ball/punish us like St Mirren did in the semi. Having said that, I think JBA learned from the semi and has us more aware/alert to stop teams scoring against us on counter attacks. I’d Love to see us win this three or four nil but I’ll take 3 points any way we can get them in this game.

Keep priestman in I'd have Longelo in for his height at set-peices, Stama/Hendry is a toss up not overly bothered who starts. I'd be taking Preistman out for an attacker they'll give us the ball and sit in their shape not convinced preistman is going to be very good against a low block. Yes, the key for us, is to get that all important first goal and disrupt, if not obliterate, their gameplan. As others have said, this will be a very different game to last night's and St Mirren will focus on disrupting our normal gameplan. A little bit of good luck will be very welcome on Saturday.
