Hope not controversial after a great win but Watt's reaction to st mirren player confronting him is embarrassing.  If other way round we would be slating opposition player.

Elliot you are better than that

Players can lose their heads in the heat of the moment, particularly when a weak referee has lost control, lets persistent fouling go unchecked, and doesn’t seem to have a clue about the advantage rule. That’s probably what led to Watt’s stupid reaction. He’ll learn from it.

Definitely agree. I don’t want to see anyone in claret and amber carrying on like that.

Not condoning Watts reaction, he shouldnt have done it, but what I did like was that he was straight over to protect his team mate who was lying on the ground and backed up in numbers by the rest of the team.

Thats the team spirit of winners, and a group that have each others backs. We dont have the biggest side, but we werent bullied by Celtic and we werent bullied yesterday.

Long may that continue!

Agree totally about team spirit,  even after 2nd goal a few players went directly to Said for his assist

Rumours on P & B that Callum Hendry has picked up a serious injury; hence his absence from today's squad. Add to that Stama being on the bench and Sule's return to WBA, and you do get the feeling that moves are afoot to bring in another striker.

Even if we didn't have those issues I'd have been amazed if we are not looking to bring one maybe two strikers in because when the manager would rather play with no strikers than the two we have tells you all we need to know. Henry and Stama are not the answer.

This is something I find interesting with JBA. To what extent is he enjoying it here? He tends to play with a poker straight face.

There is absolutely no doubt that Scottish Football is driven excessively by emotion.

I listened to the OF game today on the radio and there was actually very little commentary on the actual game.

It was all about the drama around the Celtic predicament and Nancy in particular. Every adjective is pulled out to describe the emotions of the fans, the players, the horrors of Nancy's predicament. Read Tom English's article this evening on the BBC . It is pure sensationalism. I think 'haunted' is used in the headline to describe Nancy's demeanour. It is straight out of Hollywood.

JBA has made a point of cutting through all that noise. At times he has made some of the inane questioning of the press sound ridiculous because he refuses to get drawn in to the emotion, instead concentrating on the very effective job in hand .

I do wonder if behind that very pragmatic exterior if the club and maybe even the warts and all of Scottish football itself is actually starting to grow on him.

I suspect unfortunately that JBA will look at his own career in much the same way as he forensically builds a competitive Motherwell side but it would be nice to dream that he has grown enough attachment to the club that it will at least  raise the bar for any potential suitors offering riches to entice him away.

I'd be amazed if we start next season with Askou in the dug out.

A lot of this team will be away as well.

That's why we have to enjoy this season and really go for it and do the best we can.

This is a once in a life time season.  There will never be another in the modern era where the Old Firm are as beatable as they are now, where 5 teams are realistically challenging at the top of the league, where a club like us have the right blend of talent on and off the field to be right up there.

Who is all out of contract at season end?

I think Slattery is the only one out of contract but others are going into their final year so it’s the correct time to sell them if we can’t get them to sign an extension. Add to that others might attract bids on their performances this year and a few players leaving isn’t an outrageous statement.

7000 well fans yesterday which is amazing but also now brings the random non season ticket seats being bought for games.  Seat between me and my mates is non season ticket but never used so we all sit together.  Yesterday random guy never seen before had ticket for that seat. Never even made suggestion to swap with me so I could sit with my mates ( mind you....they weren't complaining) !! 🤪🤪

I suppose MFC will be doing what they can to keep Jens and keep players here so we can benefit from them playing for us but also not end up letting players go for zero.
For once it would be great to see a Motherwell team, especially this one, go into European competition with the same team that qualified.
Long term, we have to do what we can to maintain this approach to football and not revert back to”guid laddies” and “right to play” hoofball crap.

I think the new board and CEO have shown that they are pretty switched on when it comes to future planning.

They will be well aware of the interest thats coming down the line in respect of players and tge manager and doing everything they can to future proof the club.

Getting players or the manager to sign any new and improved contracts is obviously easier said than done, but absolutely no point worrying about it.

Whatever will be, will be......

That's Aberdeen sacked Jimmy Thelin now.  Better not have any ideas about trying to go for Jens

Would you jump ship for Aberdeen right now though?

Sure they can offer a slightly bigger wage, but it would hardly be a life changing amount and no guarantees you could get those players abd their fans to buy into your ideas the same way ours have.

Dont see Jens leaving us for anyone in Scotland outside the uglies.

I do not envisage Jens going any where before season end and I hope even then.

I believe if and when he does go he will insist on the the team he moves  play his style of football and mid season is not the time to do it. That's Nancy's problem at Celtic. Quite sure you all remember the first game in Netherlands and the learning curve thro LC games.

Nope definitely

I certainly wouldn't be leaving to go to Aberdeen.  Not a chance I don't think he would
