He was far from the worst offender. I thought the first yellow card for Lowery was correct and Walsh got it spot on. Unintentional as it may have been Lowery went over the ball and caught our player on the shin. Happy to see a yellow given for tackles like that. The second yellow was just stupidity from the Killie player although some referees would have bottled taking action. The offside I thought was clear enough although not as blatant as I thought at the game. Not quite in line but everyone around me on the POD could not understand why the VAR decision took so long. I thought tv highlights showed Polwarth was clearly offside. Tight maybe but not in doubt. All three talking points I thought resulted in the correct outcome although they did give McCann something to deflect from how ineffective his tactics and players were after the first 20 minutes. He appears to have adopted the Kettlewell teflon approach.

Same thoughts it as tighter than appeared as inevitably Polworth was moving towards goal and away from defensively line very similar situation in Falkirk game but goal was awarded Without trying to raise people blood pressure re VAR 😞 the BbC broadcast different views of Killies and Falkirks checks. The Falkirk goal looked well offside on Sportscene and I didn’t see any lines being used (or not on highlights at least). Could the length of time taken be different because of VAR placement? Im not sure how it works but will definitely take it yesterday 😁

claretband
Just watched highlights. How can anyone say the first one wasn’t a yellow? Studs straight into Slatts shin could have been very nasty indeedSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I watched the highlights over a can of Hazy Janes and to me it seems like a top end yellow, just short of a straight red. He goes in studs up with the sole intention of doing Slatts and catches him on on the lower shin. It isn't careless, uncontrolled or reckless; its deliberate and he knew it, as does McCann.

star sail
Things are really hotting up at the top of the table. Motherwell are now in a group of 4. Interesting article on the BBC Sport page today about points v performance, the takeaway being that Hearts and Rangers have more points than their underlying stats (performance) would suggest and Motherwell are roughly where we should be on points. I think most of us would instinctively agree that was the case. Rangers have benefited from a good few 50/50 decisions (have not seen today's penalty decision v Dundee). Hearts as Orinoco says above have been resilient and clinical with set plays. Motherwell have been as good as the teams above. We have Rangers looming on the horizon at Firpark. If (big if) we can go into that game with another couple of wins under our belt, then it becomes a massive game for us. Given a level playing field in that game (and I am not talking about the condition of the pitch) we should have nothing to fear. Very interesting times.
texanwellfan
Maybe we can get Watt back for that rangers game or at least for part of it
