If it takes as long as ours, it'll be half-time before they decide if it can go ahead. Scottish football never learns.

grizzlyg
Yup actually not that bothered, gives us full week rest ahead of 2 massive games. Would be ideal if dons game still on but fact that is a later decision is also crazy
stv
I would take a call off tonight allowing us to better prepare for an very important cup game on Saturday. Without the midweek double travelling and a tiring game on a heavy pitch before it. Hopefully the Aberdeen game goes ahead on a heavy pitch and they end up tierd for Saturday. Oops just seen its off. Other teams have spent lots of cash on brining their pitches up to an acceptable standard ( no plastic, well drained, Undersoil heahing etc) yo play in the premiership, Dundee should be no different. Dundee spent money on their pitch close season. Its looked like a bowling green all year. They can hardly be blamed for a weather system coming in off the North Sea for the best part of a week subjecting the entire area to persistent rain and snow. Also, our pitch isnt looking very good right now, despute the efforts we have gone to improve it. Should we also be fined?

Stuwell2
Going to be difficult to squeeze this game in, 25th feb looks most likely, depending on the cup games it could be the weekend of the next round 7th March if we’re both out or possibly around the 3rd/4th March before that round if we’re still involved or 10th/11th March before the Celtic game. Don’t really want to go further than this and definitely not into April between the last two games before the split.

What was the money spent on, new turf on top of existing bad drainage that obviously cant cope with a bit of heavy rain? We were forced to spend lots of cash to resolve the issues at Fir Park ie rip everything up and start from scratch, new drains, subsoil etc and we now have a good surface. Yes it was looking rough recently but i was told that was due to issues with a boiler in the undersoil heating system. Top flight games should be on proper well maintained Grass surfaces, not the shitey plastic and ploughed fields we see at some grounds. Oh and yes we should be fined if ever Fir park does not meet the standards if that was ever introduced..

Dundee Utd, St Johnstone and Aberdeen have all had games called off in the last couple of weeks due to the rain.

They sorted new drainage and a whole new root system for the pitch, but it’s rained pretty much non stop for weeks up there. Clearly couldn’t cope as there was no dry spell to soak some of it up.
