Happy enough with the squad we have. Slight concern that we're an injury to Paulsen or Connelly away from a very inexperienced goalkeeper as backup. Last season we had Oxborough available to recall. I imagine we have a list of free agent goalkeepers in a drawer somewhere...

I don’t think Lee Hollis has been employed by anyone after us….. come to think of it I don’t think he was employed by anyone before us. I’m sure he’ll be available

fits the criteria, small and looks like a full back.

I think the rules allow for  emergency loans at any time if a team runs short of goalies due to injury.  Not ideal but at least it does not tie us to the transfer window. So no doubt we have someone in mind should that need arise.

Has he been released? Not seen anything from the club yet.

Aye i noticed that as well, which concerns me if hes not actually been released. Maybe its part of the deal or probably more likely that the club and the players agents etc are still w orking out the details.

Could always register Neil Alexander in an emergency.

Bit off topic but is Davie Henderson still at the club? Haven't seen him about? At least I don't think he's been one of our physios on the pitch.

Mark Gillespie is still on the books at Newcastle. Third choice, signed a 1 year deal in the Summer. He'd certainly do as emergency cover (imo) if it came to it.

Has he played a first team game since leaving us?

He played in a few league cup games the first season he joined them, but nothing since.

He'll be getting paid handsomely to work with the other keepers, and is obviously happy with what he's doing there.

Mark Gillespe has benefitted greatly from the fact that he is a product of the Newcastle United youth academy. As such, his presence in their squad ticks an important box regarding clubs' youth development even if he is unlikely to ever get a first team game. If they see value in having him around then you cannot blame him for picking up ten grand a week (speculation) for turning up for training. He was a very decent player for us so good luck to the guy.

Glad AP has gone, as much as I think he is a good striker and was a potentially good buy, it’s not worked out and it’s clear he wants to be back in Oz with his family. Fair enough.

Good for us as it removes a decent wage but unsure what opportunities he’ll get… but not our problem.

Overall AP was one of the worst signings we have paid for in a long time

Always in the wrong place , 2 yards short, never really looked interested at all in his time here and permanently injured. Think he wanted away after two months here.

Toughest position to recruit for . When it comes to successful strikers there’s probably been more bad than good or certainly a fair amount of meh .

Need convincing that Thor will prove to be any better but at least we can give the guy a chance .

JBA brought him in, I'm sure he thought he would do a job, needs a run in the team to see if he's any good though, feels like he's never had that kind of run

Will be interesting to see if he’s able to get a run of games . His pro record has him averaging less than 14 games per season .

hopefully he comes good

I probably more than anyone banged the Stama drum but injuries just never meant he could get a run.  Lone striker not suited to him.  I felt him and JT were developing a partnership until....yup...you guessed it..........stama got injured.

Certainly not worst striker I have seen but just didnt work out
