Willie Hunter
Elijah is the closest I have seen to Willie Hunter of Ancell Babes fame effortlessly drifting past lead footed opponents and scoring some sensational goals. Pity Willie is no longer around to see if he agreed with the comparison. I'm sure he would have.

What an elegant and dangerous player he was. He died fairly recently so it's a pity he didn't live to see Eli.

MelvinBragg
For me, too young to have seen Willie Hunter, the comparison I have to make is Bobby Russell. Both look like a strong breeze would knock them over, have an excellent touch and can glide past people like they're not there...

I’m sure he was wondering “What was that old ghit havering on about?” as my son led me away. But he was polite enough to nod kindly and, as if, understandingly when I was rambling on about Willie and the Ancell Babes. Maybe he was being sympathetic in case I was a dementia victim. Later on, bored Jens with same reminiscences. And he was similarly polite and appreciative.

I'm old enough to see all three play and Willie Hunter comes out tops for his ability and length of service. But I agree Ally, Just reminds me very much of Vic Davidson too. Three very talented individuals.

Judging by his dressing room speech post-Hibs, Jens clearly understood the significance of those reminiscences and comparisons.
Jym Bob
Agreed. I thanked Jens for reviving my memories of the football that the great Ancell Babes played. Great to see Just performing on the world stage. Unfortunately Willie Hunter never got the opportunity to show his.
