If you go to www.mcfc.co.uk and click on the third page of the main stories, you can see McDermott in action against Rochdale(Reserves).

What an impression too. Nice skill edge of the box and sets up a goal right at the start of the vid.

I know he was a cock on sunday but wolves are in signing talks with leigh griffiths and were going to loan him back to dundee but because of there embargo that cant happen what do people think of us trying to get him on loan. apart from what he did on sunday thot he was a good player

seen and heard various reports that he is to go to St J on loan after signing for Wolves.

Way it looks at the moment is that we can only sign player who no other SPL team wants cause as soon as we go up against anyone else we can't afford to compete on any level!

Seems like the man city lad would be a good capture. As for Griffiths (and I will probably be proved wrong here) i'm not too bothered. On sunday he looked like a poor mans Jamie Murphy and I think the step up to the spl may prove him to be over rated at this stage in his career. Then again what do i know!!

After the utd game I'm tending to feel that were not gna do that well this season...at the same time were far from doomed...If I was mccall i'd be tempted to bring through a handful of young lads now to prepare for next year.

If we develop a solid core to the team through Randy, hutch, saunders, pollock(far down the pecking order i know but i rate him highly), Las, murph and sutton - as lets face it, its highly unlikely that Reynolds + jennings will be here next season, plus crags is declining at an alarming rate.

Then we make a few decent additions in the summer and we can look forward to a good one next year! SIMPLES!!

Sutton could be offski as well. Contract expires this summer.

So Brownster got Blackman in the end!

Just on STV News that Blackman has agreed to join Aberdeen for the rest of the season and McCall is increasing his search for players. So much for the "only team he will play for in Scotland is us". Hope wee Stuarty doesn't make that mistake again..

Too late mate..!! :P

From the Glasgow evening times ,what caught my eye was McCalls quote that there will DEFINITLY be a couple of new players in before the Hibs game next week.

Stuart McCall hopes to add at least one new face before tomorrow’s visit of away-day specialists Inverness.

The new Motherwell gaffer had released Alan Gow and seen top scorer Nick Blackman return to Blackburn Rovers after the completion of his loan deal, while 24-year-old defender Marc Fitzpatrick has signed a two-year deal with First Division Ross County.

“We are now looking a bit light in terms of squad numbers and the priority is to get new faces in,” said McCall.

“In that regard I am hopeful we may make a move in time for the Inverness game, while there will definitely be a couple in for the visit of Hibs next week.

“I can understand Marc wanting to move to County as he will be getting game time every week up the road whereas maybe here at Motherwell, if he had stayed, he would be more of a squad player.

“But we have been working hard behind the scenes to get some new players in place, and I am hopeful one of those may come to fruition for Inverness.”

True. Though sutton i would expect to stay if we offer him a new deal. If jennings or reynolds stayed past the summer it would be a real surprise.

I'd expect Sutton to have more suitors than many of our players, evn talking to fans of other clubs he's one that gets noticed as actually capable of doing a job

Absolutely, big guy that knocks his pan in and scores goals, I would have thought quite a few teams would be interested in big John.

Is there any truth in the rumour that Motherwell fans have to bring their football boots with them tommorow just in case...It's getting a bit thin on the ground... . Just for the record and to 'free' another wage i'd punt Forbes asap also. -_-

At this stage I would take that. I'd hope with this money, along with Gow, Blackman, and Fitzpatrick no longer with us that we could use some of this to get in 3 players asap. Even good EPL/Championship loan deals would do for now until the summer. This would give McCall more time to bring in his own men in the summer for next season.

By that time we could be replacing Jennings, Sutton, and Craigan, probably 3 of our biggest earners. An opportunity for McCall, whether he wants it or not, to create a new team.

If the deal is done why would he play tomorrow to risk getting injured ? i for one cant wait to see hutchison getting a run of games as he looked very good before his injuries.

Good luck to Marky Reynolds if tommorrow is his last game. He could have left us high and dry as so many have this season and before. But he signed a new contract. In hindsight we maybe should have taken the £750k that was supposedly on the table from Rangers.

Nah good luck to the guy and if I was a betting man I reckon we may see him in claret and amber again one day, being that he is a Well fan.

Interesting to note that on the official Mccall talks about replacing him...i would have thought it was time for Page, Hutchison or Saunders to step up.

The January window is not the best time to be losing players. Most players that are available tend to command fees. I'm of the opinion that Craig Brown left us in a bit of a mess and Stuart McCall is having to pick up the pieces. Still we appear to be reasonably well covered in central defence...for now. A threadbare squad loses another member though.

Thought he was a Celtic fan?
