  1. Past hour
  2. Always worries me when you get optimistic about our chances.....if we defend like we did today, that'll be a decent result.
  3. Possibly yes, but my guess it will be at least December or January Providing of course results keep ending in defeats
  4. The reduced home attendances will see it happen.
  5. I think you’re spot on . Within the next 5-7 games Alfred will have reached a similar amount of games time where the tenure ended for Steve Hammel Jim Gannon Hari Kampman id love to be wrong but there’s a lot of similarities to their tenure
  6. I don’t think jens recreates the season he had last if he stays with us ( he still has a good season but not last years level ) good managers move at the right time 1 of the issue for me is this data model chat…. hearts for example have lost what we’ve lost ( if not better ) & managed to use the data model to replace well we’ve lost players & recruited without any obvious plan How have we got it so right last year & so wrong this year?
  7. No new manager any time soon, will not be happening
  8. This lot couldn’t keep hens out a close!
  9. So basically you are saying Askou couldn't have adapted and changed once teams thought they had sussed out our style of play. He has Toulouse currently sitting in 9th out of 18 teams having won 3-0 away from home yesterday. His team came back from 2-0 down away to Monaco (who are 2nd in the league) to get a 2-2 draw after he balled them out at halftime. A new country, a new league, a new style of play and he appears to be doing ok at the moment. Askou is a manager. Johansson is not.
  10. Longelo, Fadinger and Said looked capable at this level last season. Koutroumbis and Priestman also although they've been unavailable for pretty much all of this season. Lowry looks good enough. Others, the jury is out... Problem is, of those players who have proven to be good enough at this level, none are centre halfs or centre forwards. So in both boxes (where it counts), no one proven. And very little leadership or experience anywhere in the side.. Are the players simply not good enough or could another manager get more out of them? What counts against the manager is the fact that the more training time he has had with the players, the worse we seem to play.. This is only going one way for the manager...
  11. I would take a 0-0 draw the now ,but I don't think that will be the case ,easy 3-1 to Hearts.
  12. Today
  13. It would appear that the players basically chucked it today when they went 3-2 down. Then it became tombola football with half the team subbed. Anybody's guess what would have happened if someone could injured apart from a head knock. The manager doesn't have a clue what his best 11 is. Maybe there isn't a best 11. He is still talking about sticking to the process. I get the feeling that the players have sussed out that he is clueless. Everyone of his signings apart from possibly Lowry (and he is on loan) have been disasters. The team has no physical presence. We do not win second balls. We can't defend. There is no strength, fight or determination. Honestly what is our identity as a team? We look like 11 guy's who have just met one another. We are not a team. When asked about what the team does this coming week, it was the same old answer. We stick to the process. I admire anyone who thinks this bunch of misfits is suddenly going to become a cohesive unit. There is absolutely no sign of that. I get a feeling that what we are seeing is that the recent performances are as good as these players are. This is their level. They are not good enough to be playing in the Premier League. One team has to get relegated and at the moment we are giving every indication that it could be us.
  14. I can see why we had a shot at him & he was always up against it regardless honestly think it’ll show the ambition of the club if we can act swiftly & go it’s not working maybe he wins a game & we go top 6…..it’s just papering over the obvious hope if we do bin him we’re brave enough to go leftfield again…..but get it right
  15. I really dislike this period as a football fan. You know your manager isn’t cut out for the job, you possibly suspected it from day one, but you know the Board feel duty bound to give their appointment a little longer - which is arguably, fair. That inevitably leads to more disappointing performances, more points dropped and more ground to make up on those clubs above us. Hopefully, at the very least, the Board have started to think about AJ’s successor and lessons have been learned from the summer. How AJ got through an extensive interview process is beyond me.
  16. Not a chance this team are taking 7 points
  17. That’s the thing isn’t it maswanise miles off it…..nobody better on the bench longelo not interested…..nobody better on the bench no style of play to me we’d be as well sticking the 2 big boys upfront & just pumping it long & playing off 2nd balls at least it might be entertaining if nothing else
  18. Jens himself would have struggled to recreate anything like our best from last season even without losing Just, Welsh, Watt, Ward and Slattery. Teams had cottoned on to us by late last season and we were nowhere near as effective as we were from November-February bar Ibrox and Easter Road. Whoever came in faced a very difficult task to try and get us playing at the same standard we were last season and for that I don’t envy Alfred. But unfortunately he just doesn’t look like he knows what he is doing and his lack of coaching experience is showing. I just don’t see this ending well for him and us.
  19. Possibly but im hoping the guys that came on can do better that what started or who do we drop? One thing in our favour, theres a few very ordinary teams in bottom of league, tightening up might be enough to save us. Think we were all hoping to build on last year and the money we made but at this minute, staying up is important
  20. Feck knows what a saw in him…☠️
  21. Agree Grizzly, worrying, but as people say a couple of wins and it’s top 6 again so I’ve said before on the game thread next 3 games, min 2 wins if it’s zero wins then as much as it’ll cost us to get AJ out I thk that would be the time as it’s clearly not working at the moment.
  22. Watched the game on Motherwell TV totally gutted at the result and the last 30 minutes capitulation against a rank average Killie side. The first Killie goal was yet again a mistake by Polsen but after we went behind I felt we were positive, closing down, challenging for balls, winning second balls and for once we’re looking to go forward and it paid off, Lowry got a good goal and Said and Mas should have scored. Once the second half starts and we get ahead and should have seen the game out from there but two school boy errors by SOD cost us the game, Killie resorted to hoofball over the top as they recognised we were vulnerable, how SOD stayed in the field I’ll never know, why when AJ has KL on the bench he wasn’t brought on ahead of JGR I have no bloody idea. For me I just don’t see where we spent £2m in the close season, Sparrow is never a RB, and JK shd have been on from the start, Moorman n KL shd start, Hodge is offering nothing at the moment and shd be benched, Mas just looks out his depth, his shooting is crap. Where has the team that destroyed Havnor, Helsinki and played so positively against Freiburg and steam rolled over United gone? Unfortunately it seems the longer AJ has in training the worse we get, I think it’s our season defining 3 biggest games coming up, if we continue to lose then we have to be proactive to survive in the league and for me that’s when we have to part company with Alfred, but if we get the wins we need then I think confidence will come back..I bloody hope so! At the moment I’d say we stick but the next 3 games we need at least 2 victories and a draw.
  23. I've said it before and I'll say it again. The signing of Vogts was initiated by Jens but Daws probably would obviously have been involved
  24. oh hes not alone but doesnt stop him being honking.
  25. Well if Nick Daws was in anyway involved with signing Willie Vogts it’s more than a mention he should get
