  1. A BIG Thank To The Following: (In no particular order) Kenny from Portadown, a Motherwell fan on the way to the game who helped us with directions in Glasgow All the locals we met on the way to the ground who wished us luck and hoped we enjoyed our time in Motherwell All the staff in Club 100 who made us feel welcome before and after the game All the staff in the bar in the ground who looked after us All the stewards and staff inside and outside the ground All police we met, some we had good banter with! Andy, who has the Motherwell Football Programmes on Facebook who sent me on some Motherwell programmes from past European games to put in our programme Stuart, your historian who sent me some bits and pieces And Lastily, the BIGGEST THANK YOU goes to the 2 girls (I have to be careful here, maybe early 20's) who gave a Motherwell pin page with the crest and poppy together to my son. We tried to go into the club shop after the game but it was closing just as we tried. I never noticed them but they saw us trying to go in. We then were heading over to Club 100 and met Willie McStay on the way and were chatting to him when they come over. They were so apologetic that the pin was all they had to give him, they were so nice and a credit to your club. He wore it on his jersey that evening and yesterday on the way home and will be wearing it next Thursday. Safe trip to any fans travelling over.

  2. Craigan was ruthless tonight, clearly knows of a rift between GA and O’Donnell and voiced it for all to hear, alongside a scathing breakdown of how utterly shite we are. And good fucking on him for doing so.

  3. If you think we have a decent squad then we have traced the root of your delusion. I'll judge Alexander on our league performances. If we have a poor opening round of matches he'll be under a lot of pressure. I'm not judging him on these European matches where facts show we are the minnows while our support adopts a delusion based assumption of superiority. We had exactly the same situation last season against Airdrie.

  4. All the facts are there since December, if you care to acknowledge our performances since then. None of this "It's only two games" deflection. What have you seen that suggests Alexander has the ability to turn things round? How bad does it have to get before you will support change? That bad that any new Manager is inheriting a lost cause? Change now and give the new man a chance. I do actually think we have the basis of a decent squad. But not under this charlatan and his blinkered, stifling approach.

  5. We've won 1 out of our last 15 European matches and that was at home against Glentoran who caused us all sort of problems until they had a player sent off. Scottish teams don't compete in Europe because they are crap. That's a depressing fact but it's not what we should be defining the club against. I don't mind if we fire Alexander and bring in someone better. But I think our fans need to think very carefully about that. Alexander has a 7th and 5th place finish in two seasons. Are you really that confident that the next guy does better? With this squad of players? With our finances? In our league? What if the next guy does worse? What if he gets us relegated? Fans need to give it a break with the moronic raging two games into the season in a competition that we pretty much had no chance of going further than qualifying rounds.

  6. There's no way back from this,he needs to go.hes assembled a squad that can't defend,no ability to pass there way through the opposition,no pace,no width and no goal threat.give him his nice little pay off and chase him before he does anymore damage if it's possible.

  8. I’d love Craigan to be back at FP . He called it out brilliantly tonight and was the best thing about the £15 I forked out

  9. Away and taking a flying f*ck to yourself. You don’t half talk some drivel. How can you justify what’s been getting dished up by this manager and players?

  10. Unfortunately, I can’t see anything other than a bottom 3 finish on the horizon. We are extremely devoid of quality, confidence, strikers, competent centre halves and a plan. All in all, this is going to be a pretty dire season.

  12. This is certainly the change many of us would have made. Hopefully he tucks behind KVV rather than played as a winger.

  14. He needs to go it's that simple. Our best player we think is a signing from scunthorpe at 31. Let that sink in. Sick and the bottom line is we weren't prepared enough although seemingly we had other games played that we fans didn't know about . It was never enough. Our players just aren't good enough and we have let go watt, ofonnell on bench but Alexander and some say he's pish as well as others . Who in our team would hibs sign for example? Long season ahead unless Alexander is sacked. Craigan for me

  15. I've made my position clear. I judge him after 11 league matches. My prediction is that our next result will be a win, loss or draw. Your prediction is that we will definitely lose. There is no comparison in positions.

  16. Real world facts, ie results, show that in modern times Scottish sides often struggle against teams from Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland and even Wales. No one should be surprised but if a Scottish teams draws one of them next season we'll get the same pre match bravado and similar results. Scottish fans need to wake up and smell the cheap own brand coffee. As for our start to the season I've made no prediction, I don't have the clairvoyant powers like you obviously do but I've been around long enough to know that sometimes the last result doesn't determine the next result. If Motherwell win are you prepared to break an egg on your face? Of course not.

  18. Sack Alexander who is on a contract until 2025 and his backroom team will cost in excess over half a million? we dont have that money to burn and have money for 4-5 new players and a new manager and his backroom team as well.

  19. I know Robinson used to get criticism for his anywhere across the front 3 signings but you at least felt he had some sort of plan in place. We haven’t signed a left back despite it being the weakest area of a very weak team, instead bringing in a right back when we already have a current international in place (albeit he’s not played like an international player for us) and where we have a promising youngster waiting to come through. We’ve signed 2 centre halves in his time only to end up with the same pairing as we had when Robinson eventually ran out of energy to replace the team each preseason. Weve signed Tierney despite us not playing a system in which he fits, we’ve never replaced Watt and possibly worst of all we actually paid money for Efford

  20. These players are making basic errors in defence, in attack the crosses are dreadful. I'm not defending Alexander. For me, he's responsible for a group of players who simply aren't good enough...

  21. I think a new manager might play the players in their best positions. Which would be a start.

  22. To be fair to Craigan he’s been fairly scathing of the Alexander reign for as long as I can remember. Clearly remember him noting how we didn’t really have any clear plan in place for attacking as far back as the league cup games last season. I wouldn’t be averse to him coming in as manager but can’t see it happening unfortunately

  23. Not usually one to jump on the sack the manager campaigns but never felt so strongly about this. He absolutely has to go before St Mirren or I'm sitting the season out and requesting a refund on my ticket.

  28. Are you saying not winning a cup is an automatic sacking offence for a Motherwell manager? What exactly is the point you are making? The risk of dumping Alexander is obvious and shouldn't really merit a question.

  29. Hear hear! Any Motherwell fan that can justify this shambles is talking out their arse.

  30. We've pretty much no chance of winning the League Cup either, so when we get booted out of that, no problem. Same with the Scottish Cup. Same with the League. Why bother about losing time after time? As for other Scottish teams, if they're all as crap as you constantly say, where's the big risk in dumping Alexander?

  38. I agree with the positions that you think need strengthening but barring any injuries I think we might only add to our forward line.if ojala is crocked again then we might need to bring in another centre half but I wouldn't be surprised we use mcginn there and play odonnell.mcginley is injured but not sure what's up with him,if he's out for a while then we need a left back, ideally one that's better than carroll.central midfield is still a conundrum,we could have 10 players to pick from and nothing would change,we would still play the same way,we have decent enough midfield players for the level we play at but the manager needs to start being more attack minded and not just having a midfield 3 where not one of them offers a threat going forward.a big part of our problem stems from not having midfield runners, last thursday was a casing point,it was just far to boring and predictable,if we had midfielders getting forward it would change the whole flow of the game and get the opposition thinking if nothing else.

  39. You think so? Not sure I agree with that to be honest. I think we have the makings of a good team, especially with the "dead wood" that's been moved out. A few additions of starting-place quality and we'll be good to go I think.

  40. We may have had a fair few shots at goal but I would not agree with him that we created “a lot of good chances”. We should have enough to still get through to the next round but we need to up the performance make chances and most importantly convert those chances into goals. Stay focused, don’t panic and no stupid mistakes. COYW!

  41. He was slipped through on goal in the first half, instead of taking a pop at goal from an angle he choose to tee up Morris who didn't seem to be expecting it he ended up messing it up. Frustrating though as Double V usually has that selfish way about him and if that was last season he would have taken it on himself. He did look really sluggish and a guy who was struggling but like you say hopefully he's much fitter and sharper this week and looking to celebrate that contract extension.

  42. In around 50 Scottish Premiership appearances he has scored like 8 goals, his record down the leagues with Ayr and Dundee Utd was not too shabby but he was stinking in the top tier with Aberdeen and quite average when he got promoted with United, tremendous business from all at Tannadice to get the fee that they did. I do however agree Hearts will be the best of the rest again as they have retained most of the side that achieved that feat last season. I'm not really sure what to make of from 4th to 12th tbh, Aberdeen and Hibernian you would suspect would be much better, the Dons have spent some serious cash so it will be interesting to see how they get on, Johnson at Hibs hasn't exactly endeared himself to the fans at Leith with his early League Cup exit, I thought McGeady would have been a decent signing for them but he has been poor so far. Dundee United have added a few impressive additions but much like us I felt they rode there luck last season, Watt didn't set the heather on fire when he joined them his biggest impact was derailing our campaign but I think he might have a decent partnership with Fletcher, on paper though their squad doesn't jump out as being all that amazing. I know we fit into this bracket as well but Livingston, County, Killie, St Johnstone and St Mirren will all be much of a muchness tbh, I suspect County will be fine as they have added some decent quality. Almondvale seems to be a tough but to crack for most teams these days so another mid table finish for them, McInnes at Killie has added some proven Scottish Premiership players but I feel they will still struggle as will both the Saint's. Cautiously optimistic but I actually think the continuity of our squad will actually serve us well this season and mid table mediocrity awaits, we have a favourable start fixtures wise so we really need to hit the ground running. Rangers Celtic Hearts Aberdeen Dundee United Motherwell Hibernian Livingston Ross County Kilmarnock St Johnstone St Mirren

  45. One thing you need to bear in mind though is a decent amount of our support consists of absolute roasters at the moment for some reason, and as such their knee-jerk reactions and short-term rage should never come into the decisions being made by the professionals who make up our board. We're booing our own team consistently, throwing bottles onto the pitch, threatening YouTubers, singing questionable songs and generally not painting a very good image of the clubs support at the moment. Which is a shame, as we actually have a club that fans of many other clubs would give their right arm for. We're well-run, we have a CEO who doesn't only give a fuck what the fans think, but is actually out there interacting with them on social media, we're fan-owned which gives us a say and insight into the club that other fans don't get, we have a social media team that produces some really cool content that provides us with a window into the club and the players, and despite the rattle-throwing and constant fear of impending relegation we've actually done really well over the past five to ten years. Since 2012/13 we enjoyed the following: Finished 2nd twice Finished 3rd Finished top six five times in the past ten seasons European football of some kind in five seasons of the past ten Reached two cup finals Finished 11th once, and even then it gave us the play-off games against Rangers I know this might not be popular, but in all honesty our fans have absolutely nothing to be complaining about. Even if we do have a bad season this year and finish in the bottom six. I honestly think much of our fanbase at the moment is spoiled.
