Another way of putting it then, we are shit and so are officials Their incompetence is a separate issue to our defending they contributed to our loss yesterday but so did our defence, midfield I've just watched build up to penalty , why is nobody closing man down , tackling him. The 1st and 3rd goals are lamentable, hammy really needs to show these back and say to players , what were you doing and how did that happen? We need an Alan Campbell type in the middle3 points

We get the officials our game deserves,,,,,,, what a feckin ridiculous statement to make ffs. The officials not doing their job properly cost us points yesterday, they've always been poor and even now with the technology to help them they are still making a James Hunt of it every week. Decisions are made that cost teams points and we get no explanations from the officials as to why they were made, with no comeback or sanctions on the officials involved, the whole system is rotten to the core.3 points

Pretty much agree with that. However Hammell will never get the media exposure that Neilson gets and if he had said the same things it would hardly have rated a mention.2 points

Just my opinion but I feel like Solholm has been the better of the centre backs by far this season, Lamie had a fantastic 2021/22 season but some brain farts have crept back into his game recently. As for the penalty Sol's arms are down by his side in a natural position and he swivels at the last second which leaves the gap between his arms and body, it's like what's he suppose to do. Defenders will need to get in the habit of having their hands behind their back in those instances.2 points

Regarding Graham’s playing style and ability, I remember watching the World Cup with my late father and him comparing one of the stars on display with Graham. He remarked that the star player always looked like he had time on the ball because of his great first touch and control, and that his eye for a “slide rule” pass to put a teammate into a goal scoring position was very reminiscent of Graham at his best. The player in question was Carlos Valderrama.1 point

Great player and like weeyin and the African says he had a great partnership with Pettigrew I really enjoyed that era at Fir Park1 point

Bobby Graham the latest inductee. I loved watching him as a kid - Graham/Pettigrew, what's not to love? Fantastic player, but it wasn't until I was much older I discovered what an impressive record he had at Liverpool despite a restricted number of appearance thanks to the St. John and Hunt partnership. As well has his time at Fir Park, one of my other memories was seeing him after he moved to Accies. I was in the supermarket in Hamilton (Fine Fare probably) and spotted him, cigar in hand, gold bracelet and 1970's issue shearling coat.1 point

Goss’ range of passing has been great, he’s also put some wicked corners and set pieces in just waiting for someone to get on the end of. We also play a fuckload less hoofball these days because Goss actually takes the ball from defence and links the play. If we had KVV and a fit Moult up top or even KVV with some quality wide players then Goss would thrive. Slattery I think has potential but is out of form right now and is still relatively young, if we sacrifice anyone from midfield it should probably be him for a ball winner to compliment Goss.1 point

Yes, all of the officiating points are valid but yet we had the opportunity to still come away with at least a point if not 3. We have to drum it into the midfield and defense that we cannot allow runners to go 20 30 yards unchallenged. Get in their face early at least slow them down which then gives other players a chance to challenge.1 point

That was a really frustrating game for a variety of reasons. I actually thought we started the game well before Hearts grew into it, they missed some glorious chances before we managed to gain control again, typically though when they went down to ten men it's like we just forget how to play, mentally somethings up with that. It was really frustrating watching them spray the ball about finding space it honestly looked like we were the man down. Also to get stung with goals before and right after half time was a kick in the tadger, I'm not planning to sit through the highlights of that game again but at Hearts first goal it looked like Halliday clearly headed the ball out only to be given another corner, obviously we should be defending better but that was just one of some horrible calls. I don't know what Snodgrass was trying to do with McGinn as he looked to dive across him and miss then got up and done it again as he tried to hit the ball resulting in an injury but no foul was given. Hopefully that's not a long term layoff. When Moult came on we looked more direct and with more urgency and emphasis getting forward, it's baffling that Craig Gordon didn't get a second yellow at the penalty incident, Clancy wasn't long in whipping it out for Moult when he was trying to retrieve the ball after scoring. It was typical that Van Veen scored a stunner but it was just offside, but it was a nice assist by McKinstry to setup Spittal for the equaliser. I know VAR looked at the penalty decisions so I suppose I can't argue but Moult unleashed a powerful volley which was on target which struck Sibbick's arm which was in an unnatural position, I'm assuming this wasn't awarded as it was at such close range while Solholm's was a tad reminscent of the one Hearts got away with against Celtic, his arms are down by his side in a completely natural position but hits him when he swivels to block a shot, defenders will need to get into the habit of playing with their hands behind their backs. Aberdeen and Hearts must be the only sides enjoying VAR atm. Anyway Celtic and Willie Collum await us on Wednesday night.1 point

They may all be different types of player. Spittal has 2 goals and 2 assists. That is the best record of our midfield and as I said he isn't good enough. I stand by my statement none of our midfielders are good enough.1 point

Goss has been our best player nearly every game this season, and was again today. He just needs a hammer thrower next to him, and a striker in front of him who can actually be bothered to move.1 point

Thats a sweeping statement. I agree about Morris and Maguire, but not about the rest. In any event they're all different kinds of player. Slattery is our best midfielder and he's a good Premiership standard, but he's not performing just now - we can only guess why. Goss too is a decent player but he requires the right formation and players beside him, but thats not happening right now. Tierney is work in progress and not ready for regular first team football yet. Again not being used correctly, when he has appeared. Cornelius is a decent player who needs gametime. He brings energy and drive to the midfield which is what we need at the moment. Not sure about Spittal either way - what is his best position? He's not a winger and isn't suited to playing just behind Van Veen.1 point

It doesn’t matter whether it was a clear goalscoring opportunity or not - if Gordon goes for the ball and fouls Moult (like what happened today) the worst that can happen is a penalty and yellow card. A straight red doesn’t come into the equation any more.1 point

Every year with the "we'll finish in the bottom two" chat. Every year. In October we lost to Aberdeen, Hibs, Rangers & Celtic, three of which by one goal. We also put 5 past Ross County and beat Dundee Utd away from home. We also have a very favourable run of fixtures after the World Cup. Fresh knickers are required.1 point

Appreciate I'm in the pro Hammy camp. I don't believe we're far of being pretty decent team. We've lost marginally to several teams with much bigger budgets than ours. When we see players making basics mistakes , that's not for me about training and tactics, it's because Hearts and other clubs pay 2-3x our salary and have better players. Today could have gone either way, basics mistakes are costing us and have been for the best part of the year. We need to improve the quality of defence but overall I suspect we're good enough to be anywhere in the league from 10th -6th. Problem being, that's the same for several clubs. Losing games suck, bad runs suck. Getting some reinforcements in Jan may help. Equally I'm quite enthused about the prospect of VV, Moult, McKinstry as a front 3. That could be pretty exciting.1 point

Spittal is slow, but he also scored our equalizer and has a bunch of assists this year, so wage thief is a bit much. Having a squad where he is an automatic pick isnt helping us though. Our biggest problem right now is that we have no pace at all, and sometimes pace can help paper over the cracks when mistakes are made.1 point

Don't think we were/are anywhere near as bad as people making us out to be. We weren't particularly good today, but it wasn't quite the bombscare I'm reading. We were far FAR better with Moult and KVV through the middle with McKinstry drifting about in behind them, I'd like to see us continue with that. I'd also like to see us not let an opposition player run 30/40/50 yards with the ball resulting in a goal for the other team. I had initially said we would make the top six this season, but unless we can beat teams like Aberdeen/Hibs/Hearts once in a while it's unfortunately going to be beyond us. Not a chance we'll be in a relegation fight but unfortunately I can't see a top six finish any more. Really pleased to see Moult coming on after the chat of him seeing specialists/he might be done. He looks rusty as fuck but the movement/threat is there. Hopefully he can use the world cup to build up his fitness and we can get something from him for the rest of the season.1 point
