Grizzlyg you are generally glass half full type and I get your concerns.
However if for example. Oxborough who is good at crosses we would not have the same control in games as we would have a man less at back to keep the ball.
Our game is all about creating an extra man somewhere and ward like all others in team are a part of that.
Also he is organising defenders in front of him and very much part of us keeping clean sheets.
On game last night I like most thought the subs for us slowed us down but I would argue the point that we were more in control of game than Falkirk.
Still haven came away from a game this season thinking the other team were better than us.
A centre forward required in January would be my choice.
Its a big ask and while we wont win the league, if we were able to get a striker who can convert chances & if we hold onto the manager, i honestly see no reason we cant be in the fight for 2nd.
Typing that out just had me thinking how good Biereth could be in this team with his pace, game intelligence & eye for goal.
Last 3 games he was protected very well by his defence . Im sure he will still make mistakes when under real pressure . But his passing outfield and distribution have been excellent starting off a few good moves. Confident with passing and the ball at his feet in the box. Cant expect him to have everything or he wouldn’t be playing with us.
Hardly a clanger, he was under pressure with a Celtic player closing him down, didn’t have time to control the ball and tried the short pass rather that a punt.
As has been said before it’s the type of pass that is made and messed up by other players throughout a game but since it seldom leads to a goal is forgotten about and if it had came off would have taken five Celtic players out of the game - risk and reward.
Trying to punt it could have led to it being charged down by the Celtic player rushing in on him leading to a goal anyway as is seen sometimes in games.
So in short, yes it was a poor and unfortunate pass and percentage wise probably the wrong choice but in my view not a clanger.
Marcus: Yet another two points dropped due to our inability to consistently put the ball in the back of the net. I am also not completely convinced on Jens Berthel Askou, I just do not think this preferred style is suited to scottish football and I still maintain the idea that someone like Jack Ross or Malky Mackay would have been better suited to achieve success in this league. I want to see my team try and score goals not just win the 'highest possession stats trophy'.
This was a comment on the BBC - 😂😂😂 Malky Mackay 😂😂
Cant really argue with any of that. Totally get JBA wants his keeper to be an extra outfield option. It is a very important feature. I am maybe just being harsh on him due to his blunders at Tynecastle, parkhead and home to killie which cost us key points.
At same time agree we need a striker. Been huge defender of Stama but our system doesn't really suit him
He's too good, and the SFA asked us to stop making other midfielders look ordinary.
The story I heard was minor injury, but no idea how accurate that is.
With Hibs playing Falkirk and Celtic v Hearts, 3 points from the Livi game would be a great boost. Perhaps Killie can even take some points off Rangers at Rigny park.
You know you’re setting yourself up for disappointment here Mio .
Albeit your optimism has plenty of base . A couple of key signings would make a massive difference and maybe just maybe
Ok a wee but tongue in cheek but really? Have we seen any standout teams in the league? We’ve had the better of Hearts twice but just lacked a cutting edge on Saturday and Rangers have no identity and are woeful.
Celtic have improved under ONeill but I see this Nancy guy being a Russell Martin clone.
last night was our poorest performance (in the league) yet we still came away with a point from an inform side, difficult to beat, on a terrible surface.
I think we’ve had continual improvement all season and I think we should be aiming higher than just finishing top 6.
Off topic but I have just watched Kilmarnock's equaliser at Tynecastle. The lines are drawn and it is identical to Hendry's disallowed goal on Saturday. The scorer is leaning and his shoulder is in front of the defender but this one stood. Very frustrating.
Another point on the board I suppose.
If someone said to me that at the start of the season after 15 games you would only have two defeats, then aye I’m going to bite your hand off for that.
Actually looking at the table this must be some kind of record for the number of draws so far for all teams.
What an absolute shambles at Accies, it’s been mismanaged for years and I really feel for them. For them to be punted out of Hamilton and playing in Cumbernauld and Clyde to be playing in Hamilton is an absolute sh1t show.
I’ve never had any issue with Accies even though I know they don’t particularly like us. I hope they pull through this but it does not look good.
