Aye ok then fancy new stadiums and training facilities, feasabillity studies, its all a bit hypothetical pie in the sky BS for a club of our size and means. Personally id settle for decent, fit for purpose seats in the POD.

11 games in 6 weeks. New players finding their feet. Hardly any recovery time between games. Little chance to rotate the team with the exception of 1st half against Stenny. Not as much time on the training field to iron out issues as we would have liked. Key players injured or just coming back from Injury A grueling schedule for any team carrying a larger squad than us. Maybe we were just a bit leg weary and mentally tired on Saturday and nothing more than that.

Am I the only one who thinks our league is entertaining. I love the SPL. It’s a bit mental, we have some great games and the atmosphere most of the time is good. Also as we have proved the best way to increase attendance is to improve the entertainment in the ground. Play good football and fans will come and watch, no matter the result, also playing good football tends to bring success. It’s not all doom and gloom to be honest.

I just hope Alfred doesn't continue our long standing tradition of injuring 3 or 4 key players during our week off.

Maybe I misrepresented but I understood a football campus is something like what Man City have, the stadium and the training facility is essentially co-located/easily accessible. Was a simple thing to do in the aftermath of the Commonwealth games. The concern myself and many others have is by funding a multi-million pound facility at Dalziel Park we own either own the land as per the footprint of the building or will be on a long term favourable lease. If we ever need to realise the asset then who's going to be interested in securing an isolated building? The £1m astroturf in the middle of the running track will probably revert to to Dalziel Memorial Trust. The value in the asset would be if there was associated land and if in a pinch it could be sold either as is or for a change of use. Of course there's major pro's and con's for each option including speed of construction and ready made pitches at DP. The planned improvement would be welcome and undoubtedly an improvement on what we have, I am unsure if the modest plans are something that makes a young player think, I need to be here beyond the exposure and platform we claim to be able to provide. My preference for a campus is four fold; to avoid doubling up on infrastructure, to sweat the asset, to be a new hub/focal point for the area and to carry the club in to the future at pace. It's imperative the modern world that a building such as a stadium can't be used 25 days a year tops. Every nook and cranny of the building should be exploited for complementary ancillary business' and services. I agree that the Society doesn't run the club, but it does own the club on behalf of the members i.e. the fans. I don't think folk on here, including myself, want it to get involved with mundane issues like the cost of a bovril or the plumbing in the POD. However, I'd say that a study into the pros and cons of replacing the POD versus moving to a new stadium is of great interest and a summary of the findings should be made public. Now, we don't need to know detailed costings or a line by line account. All we need to know is the conclusions with some basic reasoning behind it. The report was received back in February, about 7 months ago. Surely the Club Board and the Society have got a good grasp of what its recommending and why? If that isn't a major strategic issue then I don't know what is. Finally, the POD seating. There is widespread concern amongst inhabitants of the stand about the seating and Brian Caldwell, under pressure directly from fans, was forced to issue a statement. That was helpful up to a point. However, the Society, as representative of the fans, has, ostensibly, taken no part in the issue apart from passively passing on complaints. We have no idea, despite asking, if the Society has even discussed member concerns, let alone expressed them to Brian. The Society has been great for the club and lets not forget it has saved it and I'm a firm supporter, but it isn't above criticism.

It would make it harder. This reminds me of VAR when most people just wanted it through without actually thinking about the inevitable consequences. Last season Hearts took 7 points vs 4 points against Celtic. That's the way to win the league. If you expand to 18 teams you will end up with probably 10 teams about the level St Johnstone and Killie are at currently plus clubs like ourselves would have less money to bring in players due to smaller crowds and the TV money being reduced and split an extra 6 ways. The average league game would be far easier for Celtic and Rangers than it currently is. Personally I think anyone who would rather play Raith Rovers or Morton over the Old Firm, Hearts, Hibs and Aberdeen is off their nut. Look at our final two home matches last season. Fir Park was jumping for 4th matches versus Hearts and Celtic, absolutely no one was wishing we were playing Arbroath instead.
