  1. I doubt we'd sell him to anyone for less in this window, if £3m is our current valuation. So that implies we'd get to see him play for a bit longer before selling him for a bit less, which I'd imagine would make most people happy enough. (Unless he'd continued to improve so much that his value should obviously have gone up.)
  2. Also seems like one of those big money, once-in-a-lifetime (for us) deals that I'm sure the Well Society told us a while back is the sort of thing we'd be consulted about first. Anyway, nothing we can do about it now... I have all mentions of Rangers and Celtic muted in my social media feeds, so it'll probably be years before I ever hear about him again.
  3. You've answered your own question right there, no further analysis required.
  4. Much as I'd like us all to have heated seats and free pies, our academy is one of our biggest assets at the moment, so doing our best to keep that pipeline going, whether that takes more or better facilities, coaching or scouting staff, seems like a reasonable way to invest. The main thing is not to go crazy, because we sure as heck won't be in this fortunate position forever.
  5. Not if it means he's being nurtured and developed by their own coaches, physios, sports scientists, psychologists, nutritionists etc., so when he's ready to step into the first team it's like he's played there all his life.
  6. I would hope any club paying 4 million for somebody has a better development plan in mind than loaning them straight back out.
  7. If Celtic came in with the best offer and he wanted to play there, there'd be absolutely zilch the fans could do about it. I can't see Celtic winning this particular race though, tbh.
  8. Burrows on Twitter this morning reiterating that it will take “significantly more than our record fee received” to buy Turnbull.
  9. Ross Forbes joins Forfar until 2021.
  10. AC-12 would have a field day.
  11. Hardly seems like the most controversial thing for a Rangers player to say, to be honest. If he'd said he was there to help Celtic win 10-in-a-row, that might be a story.
  12. Group E: Motherwell Greenock Morton Queen of the South Annan Athletic Dumbarton
  13. Presumably the club have plenty of actual figures based on the number of times they've done this over the years, and have determined that they wouldn't...
  14. FT 3-2. Results elsewhere mean Accies are safe, and St Mirren face Dundee Utd in the playoffs.
  15. Much as I'd like that to be the case (not that I want clubs to fold, I just want to see an end to ludicrous sums of money being thrown around), folk have been telling me this for a lot longer than they've been assuring me The Rangers are just about to go into administration again. And yet, they all keep rolling right along...
  16. I'm sure he would. Not sure Derby would be so pleased about it...
  17. We're not where we are because of two iffy decisions in one game. We have nobody to blame but ourselves for finishing eighth.
  18. All voting systems are flawed, one way or another. How would you suggest they do it instead?
  19. May take a wee jaunt up the road from Dublin if the weather's agreeable...
  20. I like that they picked a photo of him looking bewildered.
  21. If it really was before his head was turned, then he probably really was expecting to re-sign at that point. The fact that he expected it to take another fortnight suggests some degree of negotiation was already in progress, though, which isn't usually a sign of someone who's desperate to stay.
