  1. There is no remotely sensible way you can decide how many times better one player is than another, so I'm pretty sure nobody's using that to calculate transfer fees.
  2. Yet another reason not to bother reading the papers.
  3. All true, and none of it contradicting what I said. Some sponsors are our choice, some are foisted upon us. Of those we can choose, there are some we'd never go near, many we're happy to live with because of the money they're offering, and probably a handful whose hands we'd bite off.
  4. Not really. One is our own choice that somewhat reflects our club values and will be plastered across all our media and merchandise for a year or two, and one isn't.
  5. Then I look forward to seeing it in our new strip reveal photos...
  6. Between the pitch and the bottom of the steps, yes. The steps aren't going away though, afaik.
  7. If nothing else, I'd guess there'll be some new advertising hoardings replacing the wall, on match days at least. (Thought they'd mentioned something about covering up the steps or something as well, but could be imagining that.) I only remember being in the enclosure a handful of times myself, but it's certainly a shame to lose another "old" part of the ground.
  8. So you went to the BBC website, saw an article about Celtic by Tom Boyd, and thought "sounds good, better read that"... and you think Tom Boyd is the problem? It's really not that hard to avoid the stuff he or any of his Old Firm chums spout, especially when it's on a website.
  9. Not desperately. Flair players tend to play better or worse depending on where their head's at that day, not what their pre-season was like.
  10. The trouble is, there are generally two types of players who don't run about a lot: those who make their every touch count, and those who usually end up giving the ball away.
  11. Although if I was getting paid 8 grand a week for doing nothing, I wouldn't be finding 90 minutes a day to train either.
  12. Can we just refer folk back to the previous threads we have about this every other year? I'd wager most people still want the same thing they wanted last time
  13. He did, but we also didn't have an abundance of fit, attacking alternatives around the fringes that could've been playing instead.
  14. You mean you're not looking forward to the big League Cup draw on Friday?
  15. The big Hampden pitch is virtually the same size as Fir Park. Same width, 5 yards longer.
  16. It did look a bit like we'd been told to only do it in certain areas of the park, first half at least. Never pressured Craig Gordon on kick outs, for example, which we've always done before.
  17. Fwiw, I think we might well have beaten Rangers today, again.
  18. You absolutely did, and to be fair, the Celtic fans joined in with that too.
  19. I don't think anyone really wants to put the boot in, and I've no doubt he's as gutted as anyone, possibly more so as the captain. I'm afraid he did have a shocker though... can't remember seeing anyone on the wrong side of an opponent as often as he was today.
  20. Same for most of us, I'm sure. Mind you, last Motherwell goal I actually witnessed was scored by Chris Humphrey, so we were never likely to score today.
  21. I don't really care what their political views are, but whether one agrees with them or not, there's a time and a place to air them and the Scottish Cup Final isn't it. Fitba' is what you watch to forget all that stuff for an hour or two every week.
  22. Campbell seemed to be the only person doing what we've done best in the other cup ties, so went for him. Disappointed when he was hooked, though Bigi certainly had a great game when he came on.
