  1. Which incident was that? Only one I remember is when Enckelman dived at Daley's feet, and we got a corner... camera angle from behind the goal seemed to suggest that was the right decision.

    Europe

94/95, I'd guess... we finished 2nd on 54 pts, they were relegated with 36. EDIT: Incidentally, we've already won more games away from home this season than we did that season...
  3. Motherwell now 11 points clear at the top of the 'Real SPL' table http://www.aberdeen-mad.co.uk/sngl/ed15/real_spl_table_10_dec_2011_717264/index.shtml
  4. From 'fishel MFC Twitter feed: "Tonight's attendance has been reported incorrectly. The actual attendance was 7080. 1460 made the journey through from Edinburgh.".
  5. Born in Bellshill Hospital, family home was Hamilton, dad and brothers were already 'Well fans though so Accies never really an option Left Scotland in '93, now in Co. Meath in Ireland, after spells working in Cambridge, Hampshire, Bristol and Dublin.
  6. Some truth in that I think... I watched the STV report on it this morning, where they only showed close-ups, and it did look better that way. That said, part of creating installation art is taking account of the environment in which it's going to be installed, so it doesn't really matter how good it looked in the workshop (and the artist would have known that, or should have done).
  7. Given how much it costs to commission a statue, there'd probably be a few. Would cost a lot more than the memorial that was unveiled yesterday, and we don't have that sort of cash to throw around, sadly. And I doubt as many people would put their hands in their pockets to help out a second time around, so it would probably take a John Boyle figure to fund it himself. (Not sure that the family would necessarily want yet another Phil-related memorial at FP either... what with a stand and a sculpture already, a statue as well would be edging towards overkill...)

    Dundee Utd

The pitch gets my vote. Still looked in pretty decent nick at the end considering the conditions.
  9. On the plus side, it'll always be a million times better than this.
  10. Probably Tobar na Màthar gu bràth, or sumthin'
  11. Don't think it was working for anyone, page is gone altogether now.
  12. Yep. Motherwell: Randolph, Hateley, Craigan, Hutchinson, Hammell, Humphrey, Jennings, Lasley, Law, Higdon, Daley. Subs: Bradley, Murphy, Forbes, Smith, Page, Hughes, Carswell. Dundee Utd: Pernis, Neilson, Gunning, Kenneth, Dixon, Mackay-Steven, Robertson, Flood, Rankin, Russell, Daly. Subs: Banks, Dillon, Watson, Douglas, Dalla Valle, Allan, Dow.
  13. Yep, been listening for the past 15 minutes. Wouldn't be surprised if the player needs javascript turned on as well, though. (EDIT: Just checked the page source and don't think it does, though.)
  14. Humphrey in, Murphy drops to the bench. Hughes also on the bench today.
  15. Agree it might have been nice to tidy up the paintwork first, all costs money though I suppose. From what I've heard the memorial is to be illuminated at night, which I'd imagine will make it look a bit more impressive than it possibly does against the grey paintwork. (FWIW, just showed it to my wife, who's no fitba' fan but knows who Phil O'Donnell was, and she was quite impressed.)

    Next Six Games.

Hard to believe we have the worst "goals scored at home" total in the SPL (six), given our position. Imagine where we might be if we'd even scored half as many again in the right games, which would still be a lot fewer than we've scored away from home (fourteen). Rumour has it we wanted to wear the silver strip at home against Celtic the other weekend, but they objected!

  18. And that sounded more like it hit off him.
  19. Don't think any of our lot have had a shot yet, let alone Murphy.
  20. I dunno, just seems like he'd cost us more in wages than we really ought to paying out when we have so many other options in midfield right now, and I can imagine a bigger club coming in for him once he's fully fit. But of course, if others decide to leave in January, it could be a different story.
  21. Let's not forget Hughes has only signed for a grand total of six weeks at this point. Personally I'd be slightly surprised if he's still here after that, so if I was those other guys I wouldn't be too concerned just at the moment. With a bit of luck, Hughes might teach Forbes a thing or two before leaving us again in January -- win win
  22. Always a tough call to compare players, even in the same position. But I'd say as well as having the qualities you need in a full back, Rab McKinnon was probably the most exciting to watch (in my time as a 'Well fan) out of that lot, and was even know to score some decent goals, so I've gone for him. Tom Boyd a very close second though... a bit classier, and his partnership down the left wing with Coop was something special. I'm also just a wee bit too young to really remember Joe Wark properly, but I'm sure he'd be right up there if I did.
  23. I'd be very surprised if it wasn't a bit of both (at least once they start charging full price)... would be an awful lot of effort for virtually no benefit if all the money was going straight to the Perform Group. Although even then, it could certainly be that MFC need a certain number of subscribers to break even, which would be another good incentive to get yourselves signed up now
  24. There's an interview with him about it on MFC TV, too.
  25. The link in my post suggests otherwise... "our licence tariff for sports events, Tariff SE, is used to assess music use leading up to and within an event (including boxes). Charges are tailored to reflect the amount of music played and the number of admissions to each event." As well as music played over the PA, that page also says that payment may also be required for music that a sports venue plays in its "pubs, bars, restaurants, changing rooms, corridors and foyers", and even the "on-hold music" on its telephone system.
