  1. You're right, a point doesn't help much mathematically. But a point from Tynecastle is never a bad result these days, and it would serve to keep our confidence levels up going into the deciders. A win would do likewise, of course
  2. From the video of the goals on MFC TV, it certainly appears so.
  3. I'd take the results of any voluntary online poll with a hefty pinch of salt. They're always going to amplify the voice of those who feel the most strongly about something, as the people who don't have a strong opinion either way are much less likely to bother taking part.
  4. It is, but "screamer" equates to 25 yards plus in my book... and usually from open play.
  5. A free kick on the edge of the box barely constitutes a "screamer"...
  6. Fought and won. http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/05042012/58/spl-mccall-wins-appeal-against-ban.html
  7. Have put a little something here temporarily (divx-capable video player required…)
  8. Murray's on O'Connell Street is as central as you like and certainly used to be Dublin Tartan Army HQ, so will likely have the game on. Can't say I greatly rate it as a pub, mind you. The Woolshed on Parnell Street is an Aussie bar with 15 screens, so they could probably accommodate you if they weren't already showing it. There used to be a reasonable sports bar in Temple Bar that had loads of screens too, think it might be gone now though.
  9. I haven't got mine yet, but why do you need to transfer anything? Don't you just stop your own monthly payments in the usual way and start using whatever MFC have sent you instead?
  10. Great effort by all involved. Still a lot to do to reach £1.5 million though, so we need to do what we can to keep the money rolling in!
  11. To be honest, if Randy knows he's made contact, he should just have kept his mouth shut rather than say things like that to Aluko, let alone repeat them to a reporter, because now it's him who sounds like the one who's guilty of unsporting behavior. (And yes, I know most of you won't give a toss )
  12. My guess would be there's some paperwork to submit before they can make it official, which, since the deadline was a Saturday, can't be done until Monday. But who knows.
  13. And they hardly "needed" it, finishing 2nd or 3rd makes little difference to them this year. Nobody to blame but ourselves.
  14. I fear the worst because I've seen us throw things away before, but at the end of the day we'll get it if we continue to play well enough, and if we don't, we won't. Unless we miss out on 3rd on goal difference or something, I doubt I'll be too disappointed whatever happens.
  15. Scottish Cup would be a closer call, but the League Cup doesn't do a lot for me these days, and the CL is probably a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. (Mind you, I thought that about cup finals in 1991, and we've been to another two since then.)

  17. Largely agree with the other posters, although I take the OP's implied point that the circumstances of Mr Kelly's death were rather unusual and more closely related to on-field events than most. Even if Kilmarnock felt differently, though, it would be entirely up to them to to ask… nothing to do with us unless and until they did.
  18. I'd be happy enough if they just weren't on anyone's side, the way it's supposed to be...
  19. Not a 'Well player, but just remembered Paul Martin (who played for Accies at the time) used to live right across the road from us in Hamilton in the late 80s. (And on a rather grimmer note, Paul McGrillen was living a few houses further down the same street when he died… I wasn't living there by then, but my dad still was.)
  20. Haven't done the maths myself, but according to BBC: "Well must also beat Kilmarnock at Rugby Park next weekend to prevent Celtic being able to clinch the title away to Rangers the following day."
  21. I was living in Dublin when Richie Foran still lived there, but he hadn't signed for us by then (I now live in the same wee town as Johnny Logan, who's rather more famous.)
  22. Indeed… here's a complete rundown of Ajax's 76/77 season, including team photies.
  23. That's his Twitter name alright, but there's certainly no sign of him having said that now: https://twitter.com/#!/f_fyvie Which is probably just as well, or I'd imagine he'd be in trouble for accusing a fellow professional of attempting to injure him. Searching for that quote on Twitter brings up two results that have certainly been written to look like retweets, so it's possible Fyvie might have tweeted it, then deleted it afterwards I suppose.
  24. Perhaps, but punishing somebody for incompetence isn't particularly helpful without some sort of remedial action as well, otherwise their level of competence isn't likely to improve (and their motivation is likely to slump into the bargain). And it's certainly not obvious to me what that action would be, if the aim was to avoid a repeat of the sort of thing we saw happen yesterday.
