I have to say on this one I share your likely outcome. The very fact Aberdeen haven't scored a goal in 5 league games gives me the fear. I still bear the scars when Aberdeen came to Fir Park having lost their opening 7 games of the season had scored one goal and beat us 6-5. Probably the only highlight of the Aberdeen fans season where they finished in the play off spot.

I put this lady on block a year ago because I was fed up with the constant victimhood when things don't go her way. She chips away at people opinions like picking a sore and if the discussion gets to the stage where someone is giving as good as they get, and she has no answer, the tears and snotters and victim card are played with relentless monotony. So far easier for me to put on block , she could do likewise to people she doesn't like or agree with or as has been suggested, if abusive, report. But no we get the full on drama and flouncing away , no doubt to return in a couple of weeks . I would also respectfully suggest if you cannot handle other people opinions and some rather robust opinions a football fan forum is not the place to be. Anyone may call me anything they like , I might not like it , I might not agree with it but I'll forever defend your right to say it.

The Hearts game I'd agree but even then they'd have lost if it wasn't for two glaring keeper errors. . Dundee not so much. Sure after the break Dundee had a 15 min spell where they dominated but we took control again and Manwanhise and AP should have scored after that slight Dundee resurgence. Dundee had no possession / attacks of note after that post half time 15 minute burst.

I actually thought our style of play of playing it our from the back would result in a few more silly goals but it hasn't. The goals we are losing has nothing to do with our style of playing out from the back it just rank bad defending and goalkeeping.

Its was shocking and the road works into Dundee were horrendous. Traffics at a standstill . Those parking restrictions round the ground are a pain in the arse too. I left East Kilbride at 12.00 to try and avoid the nightmare parking and got to Dundee at 2.15. A journey that normally takes me 1.30 taking 2.15 .

Just back from the game and I'm seriously pissed off and I'm annoyed at myself for being pissed off because we are a good watch and but for another dreadful defensive laps wed have won. That's 5 games played and we've been the better team in every game. During the GA and SK era Id have bitten your hand off for what I'm watching now ....but ....there's always a but...the final third is woeful AP just doesn't cut it for me, Said does a ton of work but fuck me dithers about in possession and quite often loses it in great positions. If Manwanhise is the player we think he is he should be burying that one on one, no composure piss poor effort straight at the keeper. Defensively we still gift goals that would embarrass a pub team. That was a hard take , at half time we were an absolute joy but by full time we gifted an utterly woeful Dundee a point and could have lost it. So so frustrating.

You think our fans would have learned by now not to judge any signing based on performances for previous clubs. We've seen often enough previous form accounts for fuck all with our signings. If he signs it's a signing we need and I welcome him and reserve judgement until I've seen him a few times. Christ Davie Cooper was playing for Rangers reserves when we signed him.

A Killie fan phoned sportsound phone in last night and said Motherwell and Kilmarnock have both had 4 draws to start the season and he knows what kind of draws he'd prefer to watch and its Motherwells. 😂

If a manager only convinces fans when everything is right they will never be convinced by any manager we have. No manager is right about everything all the time. The perception of managers in football is one of the most fluid assessments you will ever find because every one of them loses their shine at some point in their career. There are too many variables that impact what they achieve. I will just enjoy what I'm watching until the shine wears off it or he leaves, one or both of which will almost certainly happen at some point. I really liked Stuart McCall and Stephen Robinson but was pleased when they both left. I was devastated when Tommy McLean left us for Hearts and in my time supporting Motherwell I will always put Tommy McLean down as our best Manager. However in his 10 seasons there were times that I would have happily seen him leave because there were just as many downs than ups in that 10 year period. That's the nature of the beast. The only factor unknown about Askou is how long it will take for his shine to fade or he leaves , so lets enjoy not watching eye bleeding shite for the first time in ages and not read too much into it all.

I'm a bit baffled with the jury still out. 4 games played, played every team off the park and the only thing that has stopped two wins on the bounce has been two games where the goalkeeper has chucked the points away. No manager can legislate for that. The fundamentals are all there. There's nothing wrong with our approach, style or recruitment so far. What would the manager need to do to convince those who think "the jury is still out" Are we really saying if the goalkeeper hadn't fucked up in the last two weeks that more people would be convinced by the manager 🤔. Every manager will become unconvincing to the fans at some point that's why 99% of managers will always lose their jobs eventually. That's the nature of the beast. However right now I don't know how much more Askou could do to convince the fans that's he's right for the job right now.

I take your points, don't necessarily agree and doesn't make me right, just how it feels to me but good to see how others see it. My priority for Motherwell is to see us win another domestic cup. No European adventure will ever Trump 18th May 1991. Qualifying for Europe is fun and generates money however not the transformational amounts for us that £5/6/7/8 million would have been for Hibs had they got through last night. The frequency and how far Motherwell go in Europe will never be regular, so for me it's a sideshow and the top 5 getting richer by millions definitely diminishes our chances of landing another domestic cup. As for Scotland, they been shite for 40 years irrespective of where the co efficient has sat even with the OF reaching major finals. Even in the good qualifying times they are home before the postcards. I love to see Scotland do well but when they don't it doesn't register as much for me as Motherwell. However as I said all fair enough points and be a dull place if we all saw it the same.

I'm curious about other peoples opinions on this. For the life of me I cannot understand fans of clubs that flirt with European qualification every 5 / 6 years or even longer wanting the regular qualifiers to do well in Europe to improve the co efficient. All an improved co efficient does is put multi millions of pounds into clubs already with a big financial advantage over us and put the OF straight into the league stages and for what ?the scraps of an extra conference place and periodic qualification. An improved co efficient for me hurts clubs like ours , OK we may get into Europe ourselves now and again but that in no way will compensate financially for the money the regular qualifiers get. Our only real hope of success is the domestic cups do we really want to make that harder by hoping another 3 or 4 clubs out with the OF are significantly financially strengthened, over and above the financial gap even as it is now. Had Hibs got through last night they'd have got a minimum of £5 million and potentially £8 million. Same goes for Aberdeen and Dundee Utd had they gone through. Even now 3 of them get another bite of the financial cherry. Am I alone in hoping they all get fucked out as early as possible. Frankly I don't give a monkeys what anyone abroad thinks if our game , they dont go, they don't pay and their opinion changes fuck all on my matchday experiences and never will. When I read social media I feel like I'm the only person whose starting position is fuck the co efficient 😂 . Am I the only one that thinks like this , am I warped 😂

True, however I was at Tynecastle the last time we went 3-0 up and saw it out... Long long time ago though.

I thought I'd seen every disappointment I could have in my many years following them but even I was surprised at losing a 3-0 lead Tynecastle in 25 mins.
