  1. This is a real bell weather game for me. St Mirren at Paisley has become a bloody hard slog in recent seasons. They are extremely physical and have signed an awful lot of new players. The will man mark us and boot everything that moves.
  2. must have cos he took Rangers to win the league
  3. Just noticed Dominic Thompson signed for Kilmarnock, got shagged for Livingstons equaliser 😁
  4. All I heard around me was "Oh Fuck, for fuck sake, Aw NO !! get it to fuck, Great play Motherwell" 🤣
  5. I should have said League game , although I'm not sure about the panathonikos game. edit , just checked 9035 for the panathonikos game.
  6. Thats a bit how I feel. That was thoroughly entertaining. I loved that game today. Although my heart was having palpitations in the last 8 mins. The team stuck to the blue print from start to finish. I know it was a daft goal to lose but every team will lose those. Our response was magnificent. We had them in knots at times. A bit more composure in the box and we could have done them over. Sure we still need to strengthen but I'm not singling anyone out tonight for any critical comment the manager will know what needs done but they all deserve enormous credit for that tonight. Not having to suffer punt and rush and the inevitable continual lose of possession that creates is like a breath of fresh air. On a separate note that was an excellent Motherwell crowd tonight, just short of 6000 Motherwell fans, and I think its the first time we've had a crowd exceed 10500 since helicopter Sunday. I'm sure some stato will keep us right. Would be great if they'd keep coming back.
  7. That is an answer but we do have to recognise floating attendees will always be around.
  8. But realistically do they have an option? the rules clearly tell them how they can charge. How many Motherwell fans would scream blue murder if we charge OF fans £20 when they charge us £35 so we can charge Motherwell fans £20. Motherwell are caught in a difficult place, doing so would be a big financial hit. Reducing the ticket prices for 4800 fans in the McLean stand would not be offset by the increase in the home support. We'd be lucky to put another 500 Motherwell fans on the gate when its live on TV. Please don't anyone think I'm defending outrageous pricing , I'm not but I have a degree of sympathy with the club who are on the horns of a financial dilemma.
  9. I would never know what Wellgirl says... The SPFL rules state Pricing ...... there are some restrictions, such as away fans not being charged more than home fans for comparable seating. The Hunter Stand is in effect converted terracing whilst the the other three are genuine stands and as such the comparable seating rule doesn't apply. Therefore if we reduce the prices for the home fans for comparable seats in two stands we would need to charge the OF fans the same for the McLean stand. The prices are scandalous but if we are prepared to accept the cash hit we can lower the prices for everyone.
  10. We charge the OF is what they charge our fans. I'm not defending these high prices but sure as fuck if they charge us £34/£35 we should charge their fans the same.
  11. They choose Zimbabwe over Motherwell? , who'd have thought ...🤣
  12. But there wasnt 6000 like you in those 10,000 crowds. Fans will come out for a big game for every team then disappear like snow off a dyke. No one is criticising fans who are hundreds or even thousands of miles away but most in those 10,000 crowds will probably live withing 20 miles of Fir Park. On a slightly different note you look at social media like twitter (or X if you prefer) Motherwell have 63,000 followers, St Mirren have 43,000 followers, Kilmarnock have 56,000, Falkirk have 36,000 followers and every one of them will leave us standing in next years average attendance stakes. I know they wont all be Motherwell fans but there is obviously a connection there, we have many who are obviously interested in the club but have no desire to come to Fir Park. Our stagnant attendances whether we are good bad or indifferent is frustrating , even more so for the Well society I suspect.
  13. We do though , we can get 10,000 for Cup semis and finals, we couldn't get 10,00 of our own fans in Fir Park for a league game if we paid them.
  14. All teams have Gloryhunters, all teams have troublemakers. The number each team has is probably pretty close in percentages. As the OF have thousands more they will have more of each category but percentage wise proportionate to their support.
  15. That is a genuine issue , the boot and rush merchants will get behind our current defence we need improvements in that area. Something Im sure the manager is working on.
  16. Its been a bugbear of mine for years how easily we gave the ball away. If the opposition don't have the ball they cant score. That's why I'm so interested to see how we fare this season. Will our goals against improve, what will we do if teams try to man mark us?? interesting times.
  17. LOL , thats exactly the clip I sent to my mate a couple of hours ago saying exactly the same thing.
  18. Technically you could see they were better but got to say how many direct shots did they get on our keeper ? I think we handled them reasonably well still plenty room for improvement but going in the right direction. Still a wee bit too over elaborate in and around the penalty box but that is a minor criticism. Excellent turn out from the Hertha Berlin fans btw.
  19. Last 15 mins we finished strongly, spoke to a few who were behind the goal and said it was never a penalty , be interested to see the highlights.
  20. Slattery was poor but he did set up the goal. He seems to think he has more time than he does and is so very slow turning. Like everyone else he will need time to adjust.
  21. He reminds me of Chris Long , looks disinterested. I could be a mile out but he just gives me that same vibe.
  22. Just watched the re run of the game on Premier Sports this morning and you are quite correct he didnt have a lot of options.
  23. The key is stop employing the usual fuds the Scottish Football mafia love who have been hawking themselves round Scottish football for 30 years or more 😉😁
  24. A lot what you say is true, however I suspect there will be times when it horses for courses. Especially once teams tumble to how we play. My biggest issue with Kettlewells eye bleeding pish was when it was obvious plan A wasn't working , he tried Plan A again so all we ever saw was limited possession and hoofball. Id like to think JBA has enough abiout him to mix it up at times.
  25. me too , when I think the shite we endured under Hammel and Kettlewell any fans who didn't enjoy that tonight should, I respectfully suggest, give up.
