7934 crowd, 800 Saints fans , 7134 Home fans truly incredible when you consider how stagnant our crowds have been for years. Average home attendance for the season now 7989.
-
Just short of 800 I think was what I heard at the game.
-
They make me eat my words every week. I said last week we wouldn't get over 7000 home fans this season and there you go 7100 home fans. Absolutely incredible to think the last time we had these crowds was when John Boyle took over and was throwing cash about like a man with no arms and the catastrophic consequences that has. Thoroughly enjoyed that game again today but it still rattles my chops that that pile of shite won a trophy this season. They are garbage and there was no more a Robbo masterclass as there was in the semi final.
-
of course they will but the reference was to 7000 home supporters which wont happen on Saturday.
-
home support on Tuesday was 6635. The away stand holds 4800, there are Motherwell fans in hospitality too.
-
100% correct. Robbos such a master tactician if we win on Saturday they are 18 points behind us.
-
I can't see our home support actually hitting 7000 not even this season but anything North of 6000 is still good going.
-
I don't buy into the "he done a job on us or a Robbo masterclass" St Mirren were as predictable as rain and as they've been in every game. We just didn't turn up. Had we played anything like we have in the other games we'd have taken them. Christ almighty as piss poor as we were and we were rank rotten we got right back in it from two nil down with 8 mins to go and extra time . We shot ourselves in the foot otherwise St Mirren would have been panicking with 8 mins to go and injury time.

I have a real bitterness towards these fuckers. I hope we pump them and would love them to be in a relegation struggle, sadly I don't think they will be. A perennial shower of pedestrian fuckers and they've won three trophies in my lifetime and not one of those teams has been better than our best teams in that period. Am I jealous ? too bloody right I am, let's stick it to them.

All that does is ensure better compensation doesn't stop or delay any potential departure. That's why I never get too wound up by contracts. I'm not saying we shouldn't protect the club financially though.
-
Afraid you are being naive. That is just not how football operates, rarely if ever can I think of a manager who chooses to stay at a smaller club when the big guys come calling. If we continue as we are until seasons end I fully expect to start next season with a different manager. So let's enjoy it while we can and leave the worrying about JBAs departure until it happens.
-
Correct, success for us will always be fleeting, sadly, so enjoy it all. Had we been sharper with our final ball we could have embarrassed Celtic. That's not a criticism its a frustration and takes nothing away from a stunning performance. Mindset is enormous against the OF and too often over decades we always had an inferiority complex, not helped by most managers getting their excuses in before a ball is kicked. There is absolutely none of that under the new manager, none of the punching above our weight stuff , just complete belief in himself , his players and how they play and its rubbing off on the players. When you remember how some of our previous manager spent the lead up to the OF games pretty much saying we should just be grateful to be on the same pitch as the OF no wonder we did fuck all.
-
Doing likewise. Michael Stewart I'm told has had connections with Motherwell over the years through friends and colleagues. He definitely has a soft spot for us even before this seasons impressive stuff. He couldnt give enough superlatives about us throughout this game.
-
Seriously???? I've lived every bloody day of those 10 years, 35 games , 30 losses, thinking Id never live long enough to ever see us beat them again. For me its felt like an eternity , like a never ending prison sentence.
-
Any time an outsider wins any league is when 3 or 4 teams are in the mix cos they all take points off one another. I seriously don't think we have a chance but if the miracle was to happen the structure of the league is exactly how you'd want it as an outsider. How good was it to see Celtic replicate the fuck up we gave them at Celtic Park. It's a strange old game. My biggest frustration will always been the League Cup should have been in the Fir Park trophy room.
-
A home crowd nearer 7000 than 6000 is incredible for a midweek game against one of the OF where historically our fans stay away.
-
The only slight issue was the final ball or we'd have pumped them. However I in no way detract from an absolutely fabulous performance.
-
I've never been so delighted to be a mile out. As fine a performance I've ever seen us play against Celtic.
-
I could be tempted to say we will never have a better chance to beat them because they are one of the poorest Celtic teams in years. That said I've seen us fall to beat this mob in any incarnation in 11 years so I have zero confidence that we can beat them tomorrow. The last game at Celtic Park completely encapsulates our efforts against Celtic over the years. Different day same capitulation when we had them. A sore one tomorrow definately on the cards. There will be plenty plaudits and empty positives but we will still get the same points as we'd get from a horsing
-
They are probably trying to deter the scum / animals who destroy fir park every time they visit. However easier said than done.
-
That was exact strategy sign dozens in the hope of getting one or two decent ones.
-
There every reason to suspect JBA has an eye for a player unlike Kettlewells scatter gun approach so we could see some decent transfer activity and with Jordan McGhee on the verge of selection we could end January with the strongest squad we've had in many a year.
-
The defence tightening at the right time for our league challenge 😉
-
Correct, I'm surprised to hear some Motherwell fans saying we were poor yesterday. I think it's just our expectations have risen so much. We played well today but Dundee set out to frustrate, not to match us and yeah the final ball was poor at times however had we played like that last season we'd all be saying how good we were.
-
Made it hard for ourselves today. A bit of frustration in the stand but I think that's because our expectations have risen. Our final ball was poor but we still dominated and thoroughly deserved the win. McGinn and Welsh were outstanding. I know he scored but I really dint know how Slattery got man of the match. He's was consistently poor today. However thats small beer in and otherwise decent day and result.
