The BBCs resume of the video states Weir confirmed
"But Weir admitted a significant part of recent transfer income, including the £3.25m fee for David Turnbull, had been spent".
Did I miss something in that video I'm sure I never heard Weir make such a Statement.
One of my biggest bug bears is how long it takes us to decide a player ain't got it. Barry McGuire should have been moved on at least 18 months ago. It was the same with Stuart Carswell. 4 seasons with us and the max it should have been was 2. Bevis Mugabi coming into that category too. In his 5th year with us now and should have been moved on again about 18 months ago. Thankfully Bevis contract is up this summer however I've just got this awful feeling we will give him another contract. Mind you I don't think anyone will ever beat the 9 years Stevie Woods got. Consistently the worst Goalkeeper I have ever seen us have. He has no equal in the kind of fuck ups we endured from him.
I was seriously begining to think I was watching a different guy with all the weeping and wailing about his departure on twitter and how great a signing he was. The guy was steady / decent nothing more, his form of late had dipped. He is only 19 and may well turn out to be a quality player but right now he's replaceable and that's SKs job to find a suitable replacement.
I wasn't suggesting we shouldn't do it . My point was it was so predictable we'd make a cunt of it and we'd give them the ball back as we did the entire game.
Our problem started because we fannied about at a corner in the 90th minute. You just knew we'd give Hibs the ball straight back. We did it all game our possession play was abysmal. If we can't keep possession for more that 10 seconds we will always give the opposition a lifeline. Dreadful game management.
The standard is dreadful across all the teams. I've not seen one decent team against us which made our horrific run all the more depressing. Big game on Tuesday, if we can get away from Easter Road with anything it gives us a chance to take a breather regroup and possibly get some new faces in because we badly need them. The current squad is frankly dreadful and at least 6 or 7 need to be in their last season with us.
I'm most pleased for Stuart Kettlewell. I know a few wanted him sacked but I've always hoped he'd turn it around. I think he's an honest hard working guy who is really giving his all for the club. Will he see it out? still a fine line but personally for me I really hope so.
Performance doesn't matter right now but you have to say if we continue to play like that for the rest of the season we will be mired in the dogfight right to the last game. I sincerely hope we have a couple of decent signings up our sleeve in the January window because that squad is pitiful.
