I would favour a move to the MLS much more than any championship team I reckon, purely from a lifestyle point of view. some of these cities look proper grim places to live, regardless of how much money you have.
yeah very difficult to compare, those Irn Bru cup teams featured David Turnbull (against Sligo) Hastie, Mbulu, Maguire, James Scott, Rodriguez Gorrin (Ross County) Liam Brown ( not sure if he played last night)
I wonder how much of a role semple will play (providing he is offered and signs) a new deal. Obviously been given much more responsibility with the reserves, captaining them infront of much more experienced players. I take it he could benefit from a loan out similar to hastie?
suggestions on pie and bovril that the club don't rate Hastie as highly as we are led to believe? surely not the case?
Hence Scott being offered more in wages
Offering Hastie less terms than Scott seems completely bizarre, of course i'm no position to judge this and those who are, are the ones offering the deals but surely Hastie is worth at the very least the same amount in wages that Scott is on, personally i'd have said more, but is Scott better rated than Hastie?
I have to agree about Gordon, he always popped up with a goal or two for the reserves for the midfield. got a few first team appearances, loaned to thistle for game time and scored a double on his debut and got a horrible injury that ended his season. definitely not a dud as people are saying.
Quite disappointing if Hastie is away considering all the chat he was giving in the press. Right place to develop, staying grounded, not getting ahead of himself, doesn't want to move on and two weeks later he's rumoured to be gone. Money does talk it would appear. Happy for him to go down south, if he ended up at another scottish club I would be quite disappointed.
I am sure someone mentioned Aldred being out of contract in the summer. I reckon he will however be on a fairly hefty wage, 3k a week maybe? would he be willing to take a pay cut? His performances will certainly have caught the attention of others who can pay much more than us.
To be fair for thats left of the season i wouldnt rush him back. Maybe the aim is to get him fit and a full pre season under his belt and back for next season.
For some reason I remember week in week out him coming on as a sub and hugging the East stand touch line in acres of space, screaming for the ball to be switched backed by the entire East stand followed by waving arms when he never got it. Anyone else remember this? NOTE it could also have been Steve jones, somehow we managed to have two guys with that hair cut.
I listened to the Celtic TV commentary and it was really getting on my nerves, EVERY challenge a Motherwell player made was referred to as a strong tackle. One thing I will say is that I don't think the two head knocks sustained by Aldred and Mchugh were even fouls, to say he shouldn't have been on the park is VERY far fetched.
I can't imagine any fan would give James Scott anything other than a huge cheer when his name is read out. Fantastic shit housery from him. Probably get a standing ovation from the Killie fans too.
Whats the script with Maurice Ross? Seems to have been appointed and not amother said about it. No interview with him then, no post match interviews. Radio silence. Any insight?
I am actually not overly concerned, Hastie himself seems fairly grounded and has had said he doesn't want to go anywhere and can see the benefit of playing first team football. I am sure he mentioned the players that have went south and failed as well. I reckon its when he signs and not if.
As he mentions, continuously, His confidence was just in tatters. every time he got going he ended up getting injured. Clearly the mental side of the game got the better of him. He's excellent in the interviews.
Grimmy has been excellent in this run of games, he never stops !! if Tait is happy playing at left back then i see no reason to actively look for one, instead develop Livingstone until he is ready, judging by Robinsons comments i think he could have actually done with spending 6 months in the championship to bulk him up.
