  1. Totally, nowadays if a manager is any good a bigger team will take him and if he’s poor we get rid of him.
  2. Wonder what position he’s playing, out on the wing or through the middle. The over the top abuse he got was embarrassing.
  3. With his dad being an ex professional and a manager himself, I’d imagine that he will be overseeing his boy’s career and will be heavily involved in any decision - maybe we could offer him a job as assistant to the new manager if he gets his boy to sign on again edit: I’m sure he did not bad at Killie and only left after falling out with the board - feck it if he keeps the boy here make him manager
  4. If that’s the case then hopefully he can help us avoid relegation before he goes and we get a decent sell on clause when he goes.
  5. The two who needed subbed are off so SH is seeing the same as us. Give KVV 15 minutes max then hook him
  6. On the season ticket money, my understanding is that the way the insurance policy worked, the club was obliged to repay the season ticket money to the ticket holder which they did by giving them a free season ticket. The club then tried to get the holders to donate money to the society in the hope that they would make out of it. If people did this then the club made out of it but if people kept their cash - and they were well within their rights to do that - then the club didn’t make as much out of the insurance policy. As to the money spent on the pitch, £100k savings a season is a players wage - or could be a massive difference if we go down. edit - not sure how much the club make from season tickets each season but I’d be surprised if it’s over £1M
  7. Need to give a manager at least a season, not nice watching this shit but two managers have failed to turn these players into a team why do you think a third will have better luck?
  8. possibly as he arrived yesterday, he’s going through a medical today or tomorrow and will sign once everything is ok. possibly Celtic and other bigger clubs do this sort of thing abroad before getting the player over so the signing appears to be done quicker.
  9. Looking good to get the signing completed but it wouldn’t be the first time signing fall through at a late stage - I remember a guy we signed on loan only to have to send him back to his parent club the next day
  10. Still think he’s a decent player and could do us a turn if he gets over his injury.

Possibly correct as he was a decent player but my memory is that his shots were always a bit off target or straight at the keeper. strikers can go through patches like that then all of a sudden every touch, flick or even miss hit ends in a goal.
  12. Trouble with shorter 2 year deals is that any player showing promise after year 1 usually doesn’t want to sign an extension so either has to be sold - normally on the cheap - before he leaves on a free or we accept that we’re getting no money for him and hope he doesn’t decide to see out the last 6 months without injuring himself.
  13. We can’t start changing manager every 6 months, we need to give SH time. If Kettlewell is better than SH, why was he not given the job initially? The guy couldn’t hack it at County so I doubt he is any better than SH.
  14. Penney shouldn’t be left with two players to mark, Lamie just abdicated responsibility. Penney totally fucked up at the second there
  15. Penney was left with two players to mark. Lamie was marking Nesbet then left him alone by going towards the Hibs player with two Motherwell defenders beside him - Lamie to blame not Penney.
  16. That makes absolutely no sense to me, you’re saying he was very good today but only scored one goal and missed a couple of sitters but on another day when he was only good he would have scored 3 goals 🤔 and for that hypothetical reason he’s man of the match? if that’s how we’re picking motm this week then I’m going with Shield’s, as hypocritically he could have scored today. 😆
  17. This thread is turning into a load of fish
  18. Good application will only get us so far, we will only win if someone manages to put the ball in the feckin net.
  19. Although I think he should have been booked, I don't think the rule is that the card is automatic. And again, there is absolutely nothing to suggest we didn't ask the question or protest. Of all of our failings today, putting Gordon's non-sending off on the manager is a weird one. I’m not putting that decision down as the reason a shite Motherwell team failed to get anything today but if Hammell is seen fighting for everything then maybe the players will show a bit more
  20. Maybe he was? Maybe other players were? The ref knew he had a decision to make, and he made it. I think he was wrong, but I doubt players and managers shouting at him would have made any difference. As I’ve said if the rule is giving away a penalty is an automatic yellow card then demanding that the referee implement the rule correctly is the least Hammell should be doing. If the rule is that it’s at the referee discretion then that’s different.
  21. Maybe he was? Maybe other players were? The ref knew he had a decision to make, and he made it. I think he was wrong, but I doubt players and managers shouting at him would have made any difference. Unless there is a rule that states a goalkeeper can’t get an automatic booking for giving away a penalty if he had a yellow already, then the rule is he should have walked - was Kelly not booked a few weeks ago for the same type of incident? edit: and if the manager isn’t kicking up a fuck and fight like fuck to get us every advantage that he can, then it’s no wonder the players don’t seem to have the fight to do the same. I can think of a few managers who would have went toe to toe with the referee over that decision
  22. My thought exactly - never will there every be a bigger wage thief than him.
  23. Hammell should have been badgering the 4th official during the VAR review demanding a second yellow for Gordon to the extent that he got sent off if Gordon didn’t. That would have put the referee in a position.
