  1. Agree regarding Sol and I think at the penalty it was good work by Shields, a good lay off to Carroll who then put in a nice cross into the box then Spittals shot was actually on target. Decent all round play for a change.
  2. I seem to think that when we signed McGinn it was said he can play LB, if true then maybe put him to LB and play SOD at RB. LB is definitely our biggest problem. Alternatively, could he play either in front or behind McGinn if we play a back 4?
  3. I think they will sit in, our best chance will be shooting from outside the box and hope for a flick from the strikers or a deflection. Also along with this I’d be leaving someone up the park at corners that we can punt a long ball for him to run onto which would also require another fast player who can then try to get up to assist him. Therefore, KVV should be benched until we’re back in the game and they’re forced to come out. Some won’t like it but I’d have Teirney and Shields on from the start to try this with Morris, McGuire and Slattery all told to shoot as much as possible.
  4. KVV is too much of a hot and cold player to put our faith in, add to that the fact he plays best when he’s got space and most teams - especially teams in a similar or lower budget as us - pack their defence against us and it’s no wonder he looks deflated most of the time.
  5. That chant - or any other bigoted, racist, ect chant - should never be heard at FP.
  6. “Sing in the chapel”pish - presumably because there Irish - very embarrassing ☹️
  7. Alan Burrows and the rest of the board - you have fucked up by not putting the euro money into better quality players. Tonight showed how shite we still are, unable to break down a defence and no one with the guile to play a through ball. most league teams - the same as last season - will just sit back, soak up the poor crosses, high balls etc and then hit us with the one or two chances they get. The board’s decision’s not to spend money on the squad will see us relegated.
  8. The guy looked good last week. Might be difficult to put a few past him.
  9. Club Twitter says dates to be confirmed
  10. Are we weaker in terms of numbers? Given the fact that last season we had a bloated squad due to Covid, I’d say that the squad is heading back to the numbers that it historically has been.
  11. Any links to the game?
  12. Only seen tonight’s game and although the commentators spoke of how poorly Sligo played compared to there recent league games, apart from their keeper who looks good, I think that there’s not a lot to fear from them and I hope that I will leave FP next week safe in the belief that we’ve done enough that the away leg shouldn’t worry us - then again we are Motherwell, so nothing can be taken for granted.
  13. Sligo keeper looks no bad so I’d make them favourites if it does
  14. Think it’s to do with not wanting both Welsh teams playing at home on the same day, might be similar to if rangers and Celtic were drawn at home at the same time but I’m only guessing.
  15. So away in the 21st and home the 28th? Both games still a Thursday?
  16. We’re a selling club so when if they price ie right he’ll be away.
  17. Check your maths, 293 / 54 = 5.4 so a goal every 5th or 6th game - unless you’ve missed typed your figures or my maths is worse than I thought. Not arguing with where he’s from but at least I’ll give him a chance. Maybe you should stop the head banging and save the brain cells
  18. Doubt ‘a’ will happen and fear that ‘b’ would see him thinking he can say more than he should. Also seem to think that he got booked more for doing stupid things rather than saying stupid things, so his bookings might go up.
  19. As funny today as the day she wrote it - some folk could learn about good jokes from her
  20. Agree with the first part regarding the LB position but I do think the Shields has something to offer and we seen that last season. Efford not so much but he does deserve a chance to see if he improves. I read somewhere a few years ago, a manager saying that most players take 6 months to settle in at a new club before you can start to evaluate them.
  21. An extended contract isn’t that great a barrier and I’m sure Morton wouldn’t be hard to deal with. Not saying that we should sign him, just thought that he would be an improvement and a potential money earner.
  22. Lewis Strapp from Morton would be a no bad shout for LB, as I remember he tore our defence a new one when we played them last season. 22 or 23 years old so someone to develop and possibly sell on.
