I’d take a 0–0 or low-scoring draw to keep the momentum going. A win isn’t beyond us though and would be a great marker for the season ahead in terms of league placing.
If JBA ends up at Aberdeen this window, I hope he fails miserably, Flow gets punted into the North Sea and Cormack gets to enjoy the Championship next season.
If the right hypothetical 20% offer came along, I’m sure we’d all be willing to listen. The red lines on fan ownership are already drawn, and we’ve shown what can be achieved without extra investment.
I’m not really sure who’s going to invest in a fan-owned club like Motherwell. We’ve been over that before. The focus should be on Motherwell investing in itself, by putting money into players, staff and facilities, which is what we’re seeing now.
I generally agree. But the Wild Sheep debacle was one of the most important issues I’ve had as a Motherwell fan, and those backing Barmack’s proposal (and Kettlewell) need called out for what they were: stupid and wrong.
The extra gate money coming in under JBA, with home crowds clearly up, should absolutely be used by the Board to sweeten his current deal. It would keep his focus on us rather than counter offers and would be a logical, now proven, investment.
Players can lose their heads in the heat of the moment, particularly when a weak referee has lost control, lets persistent fouling go unchecked, and doesn’t seem to have a clue about the advantage rule. That’s probably what led to Watt’s stupid reaction. He’ll learn from it.
Yeah, we’re in a strong enough financial position and on an upward trajectory that we don’t need to accept any of the usual pathetic offers from rival clubs, especially when most of our best assets are on good long-term deals anyway.
While I’d be gutted to lose a lot of our players, everyone is replaceable, and with a top-quality manager in place, I’ve no doubt he’d find the right replacements to fit his system and style of play.
Robbo has already shown JBA his hand in the semi final, so I fully expect us to counter their tactics far better and improve on our last performance against them.
The KMI panel outcomes don’t matter a jot anyway. All they do is highlight incompetence and cheating, and further infuriate fans because there is no accountability.
