Your replies to my posts suggest you do engage with my opinion, so, as you say, keep being you...
-
Exactly. I’m really looking forward to next season for that very reason.
-
Armstrong has done well across his time with us and I certainly wouldn’t be upset if we were to sign him up.
-
Did you watch the first half and the majority of the second half? The very concept of a final ball eluded the entire team until SOD of all people managed to put in a great cross for the first goal. So, yeh, apart from 3 great goals in the last 15 minutes against 10 men, the outfield team struggled to do the basics for the most part last night. Silly emojis in response to others’ opinions won’t change that.

Slattery 2.0 is currently a joy to watch. More of this next season, please.

Kettlewell is most likely to do a Gannon and end up as a used car salesman. His verbose nature would lend itself well to such a career.
-
He’s gone now and that alone should stand as a warning to the current and future members of the WS and Executive Boards.
-
Whilst it’s disappointing, the 15% turnout suggests that WS members care less for the mechanics of the society than they do for its ongoing existence and purpose of protecting the club from nefarious/decrepit individuals.

Each member could cast 1 or 2 votes.

The ‘new Fadi’… Jesus Christ, the Scum is grim. Fadinger is mainly used as a central or attacking midfielder. https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/lukas-fadinger/profil/spieler/394018

Another letdown incoming with the usual suspects making an arse of the basics.
-
Unless Wimmer can find a way to nullify McGinn’s extension and Gordon’s contract, then of course he will have to build a defence around them next season.
-
SOD is shite and should be nowhere near the starting eleven next season. The rest of the defence can go and we build around McGinn and Gordon.
-
Wimmer needs to wake up before he dishes out anymore contracts to any of this mob. Hopefully today is that day.
-
Thompson has been rotten since day one. Wimmer better not offer him a contract.
-
Absolute dogshit. Half these players are either asleep or not good enough, and Wimmer looks to be persisting with and/or resigning a lot of them. Same again next season, aye?!
-
I’m pleased we’ve given McGinn a contract for what’ll likely be his final year in top flight football. He’s proven to be a real asset to the team providing he remains injury free. I also think we’ll offer Watt a 1-2 year deal and I won’t be pissed off by that. He seems like he’ll do well under Wimmer. Should he flop next season, he can always return to flogging socks full time.
-
This game could go either way given we’re now safe. Some of the players will already be on holiday mode and others will be fighting to put themselves in the shop window. It should be a game that gives Wimmer that further ‘picture’ he always seeks.

We do have a bad habit of fetishising former Motherwell players. That said, Cornelius is probably still a better option than the likes of Paton, Davor, and Callachan. I do imagine, however, that Wimmer has his eyes on other potential targets, and that Cornelius will end up at another League 2 side or similar.
-
Nominative determinism.
-
I guess Paton is being offered a 1-year extension as well.

Any Motherwell manager who relies on brining in numerous loanees each season in favour of developing the Club’s own youth players is not working in the long term interests of the Club. There is obviously a balance to be struck, particularly when the first team is blighted with injuries and there isn’t enough youth players ready, but the latter will remain the case without development opportunities being consistently offered, and the former is bad luck and bad recruitment policy. The amount of loanees we have signed this season is not acceptable. It stifles opportunities and sends the wrong signals. I challenge anyone to argue that the likes of Plange, Dickson, Thompson, Tavares, for example, are better options than Wells, Ferrie, L. Ross, Wilson, for example. We should be running with a smaller squad of better first team players (quality over quantity) and have a crop of youth players baked into the manager’s ideas, every season, and particularly to cover injuries and rest others. We’re a selling club and we do well from developing our own, both financially and performance wise. I hope Wimmer shares my views.
-
Halliday is one who has surprised me and surpassed my expectations this season, so I can’t really grumble at him being offered an extension. He’s been solid. Ward is an unknown but I can only assume - and hope - that he and Ox will be battling it out for the no. 1 jersey next season.
-
If Watt’s grip socks remain fully pulled up for the remainder of the season, and we secure 7th spot as a result of his efforts, then I’m certain he’ll be offered a deal. Whether or not he’s deserving of that, particularly when the entire season is considered, is another story.
-
You have to wonder how much additional money the club has had to fork out on loan players to cover the crocks and duds who shouldn’t have been signed in the first place. And then consider how shit some on those loanees are. The mismanagement of the squad and budget has been staggering. Heads should roll.
