  1. There were a few positives to take from this performance. The work rate was good, the effort and passion was there, and we scored two decent goals. At times we played really well and were worth a point at least. However...... The goals we are shipping just now are shocking, and if that continues then we won't pick up any points. In the last 2 games we would've had to score 5 to gain 2 draws, totally different to the early Brown era. We sorely miss Ruddy, Crags and Las and fingers crossed they are fit soon. I wouldn't have put Hump on at right back, he's okay going forward but was caught out really badly for Conway's goal. As for the goalkeeper, well it just wasn't his day was it?!! He was certainly a bit unlucky with the first one when he slipped, and that seemed to affect his confidence throughout the game. His mistake there indirectly lead to goal number two as he was nervy any time he received a passback. He should've done better at the third goal too. We badly need a clean sheet and even a point, and it has to come next week.
  2. This sums up perfectly what supporting Motherwell is all about. Well said Pie!!
  3. All good runs have to come to an end, and excellent as United have been they are due a defeat. We have now lost three in a row and badly need a win to overtake Hibs, and I can see us sneeking it on Sunday. Much will depend on the fitness of guys like Ruddy, Crags, Las and Duke. I don't think they'll all make it to be honest, so guys like Coke, Hump and Saunders could get another chance. Any win should be close, so I'll say 2-1 to us.
  4. Crags new one-year deal is reported on the official site now. Would be great if one or two more could be finalised before Sunday, what a boost that would be.
  5. This I totally agree with, but it would need to be adopted by ALL SPL clubs outwith the bigots. No point asking they tossers to do something for the betterment of everyone.
  6. I can fully understand people who work shifts not buying season tickets, when you consider the amount of games NOT at the traditional time of 3pm on a Saturday. That aside, if you are a Fir Park regular then it makes sense to get one. Also, why should we penalise the club financially, as they clearly need all the money they can get after being screwed by the SPL. I'll be renewing for certain.

I think we can safely assume that this and the other threads started by Jay tonight are wind-ups, aimed at those who require a scapegoat after every defeat!

Crags came off injured mate. Reynolds gets my MOTM vote, absolutely immense.
  9. Shellic didn't win, we threw it away. We were at least their equal for most of the game, created more chances and should've scored a couple more. The goals we gave away were criminal, especially less than two minutes after we took the lead. If we'd given ourselves the chance to sit on the 1-0 scoreline things would've been so different. Its not very often we go to Glasgow and make that many chances, so to come away with nothing is hard to take. We were never under any concerted pressure so to lose that game was really disappointing, especially given the slack goals conceded. We passed the ball well at times, but also gave it away stupidly on a few occasions which lead to counter attacks. The injuries to Crags and Las cost us in the end, and here's hoping they're both fit for Sunday. Some positives to take, but what an opportunity blown.
  10. Fraser wasn't to blame for the defeat tonight in my opinion, very poor marking at both goals, especially the second. People are knocking him just because he's not Ruddy I think!
  11. Not going to knock big Giles after tonight, thought he played well and got about the park. If he could show that every week we'd have a hell of a player on our hands. Very knee-jerk reaction to criticise him tonight.
  12. According to the official site, free agent Kyle Letheren has signed until the end of the season to cover for John Ruddy's injury. He is a former Welsh Under 21 international and was on trial with us earlier this season.
  13. I completely agree with everyone here, and good work with the emails folks. Don't expect an answer though! Personally I would love to know Motherwell's reaction. I imagine there is a degree of unhappiness at what we've been given, but if we can take this perceived sense of injustice and use it as motivation to get 4th place, then so be it. Finally, fuck the SPL.
  14. My first thoughts ahead of Tuesday's game were negative I must admit. Usually after a damaging defeat the bigots retaliate and win convincingly next time out. Whilst that is an obvious school of thought, the other question to answer is this: Is this current Shellic team good enough, motivated enough and have enough heart to hammer us? No. If we go there with the right attitude and perform reasonably well I'd back us to take a point at least. That said, if they click and get on a roll it will be a tough night for us, it is never easy against them no matter what the situation is. Team wise it looks like Ruddy will miss a few games, so Fraser has a chance to impress. Not sure if Lasley and Jutkiewitz will be available or not, so maybe Coke and Humphrey might get a start. My prediction is 1-1, don't care who scores!
  15. Great to see the majority of the squad and management in attendance last night, it would be nice if that was the case every year. Well done to all those involved in the organisation of the night too.
  16. Good result, although it would've been nice to get a few more details of our team etc. Also nice to see that Elliott is as highly regarded by Jambos as he was amongst our fans!
  17. I'd very much hope that, given the club's involvement, we get many more players turning up on the night to meet the fans. In recent years the turnout of players has been disgraceful, with in most cases just the award winners showing face. This just isn't good enough, so I sincerely hope that changes this year.
  18. Whichever European giant offers the most cash can have him!!
  19. Good point. It was a bad day all round yesterday, but considering the service to our front players was so poor, how can they be expected to find the net? They have served us well this season and will again I'm sure. That said I do hope Lukas aint out for too long.
  20. There is still plenty to play for. We are still in the hunt for fourth place and are probably one win away from clinching fifth, which will be good enough for European qualification as long as its an Arabs v Shellic cup final. We may not pick up loads of points, but with games to come against a Hibs in freefall, a Dundee United team with their mind on a possible cup final and a Shellic team with no championship to chase, there could be points to be picked up.

    Falkirk

Not many positives, or good performances for that matter. My votes goes to Crags for a reasonable showing and trying his best to gee up the team.
  22. I can see why folk would want Fraser given the chance, but for me as we still have 4th place to fight for you pick your best players, and that for me includes Ruddy.
  23. He didn't play well today it's true, but considering how low on confidence he seems to single him out for abuse like this just isn't on. He simply isn't a left winger, his best position is inside left in a midfield three, the position he played early in the season when he was on fire. It might be to his benefit to have him on the bench for the rest of the season, taking him out the spotlight so to speak. The issue of his fitness isn't entirely fair, it's more to do with his lack of pace. Yes he isn't the quickest, but his delivery at times is superb and he has a great shot on him. I say keep off his back and help get the lad's confidence up. There's nothing like a Motherwell support to abuse our young players!!
  24. Poor game in general. If I'm being honest neither team deserved any points for serving that dross up! In fairness to Falkirk they're fighting for their lives and worked their socks off. They were hungrier and more determined than us, and that is a sad fact from today. Fourth place is still up for grabs, we can't afford to wind down towards the summer. We lacked urgency, composure, touch on the ball and a will to win that Falkirk showed when it mattered. True we didn't get a lot of breaks, and the injuries to Ruddy and Lasley were cruel blows, but we rarely looked dangerous against the worst team in the SPL, and that is shocking. Brown and Knox have much work to do ahead of the trip to Shellic a week on Tuesday. If we are to lose that game, I want to see us go down fighting and not as meekly as today. Fingers out Motherwell.
  25. I'm not sure what changes, if any, that Broon will make from last week. I anticipate that we will be desperate to bounce back after the poor showing at Tannadice, but Falkirk themselves are now in dire need of a win, which makes them very dangerous opponents. I'll say 3-1 Motherwell, but a win with one or two nervy moments along the way.
