  1. Jenno did well in the midfield, but the only candidate for the MOTM award is big Ruddy, who can now boast 12 shut outs in 24 SPL appearances, superb.
  2. A poor 90 minutes but not a surprise after the tiring game on Wednesday. Accies had us under pressure at times but not by playing any sort of fitba, thankfully big Ruddy was on top form. His save from Mensing's header was world class. We at times made it difficult for ourselves than was strictly necessary, but at least we got a point from it. Both big Giles and Sutty missed great chances going forward, but we didn't do much else in truth. Bring on the Hibs!
  3. It wouldn't be a pre-match prediction thread without a doom-laden prediction from your good self would it?!! You have been wrong quite a bit lately so here's hoping that continues! I can't see Accies scoring three against us, but I do anticipate a tough encounter. I'd be tempted to freshen things up a wee bit tomorrow, maybe start Hump and Giles. I'm hoping the better pitch will suit us and help us to pinch a narrow win, 1-0 again.
  4. I read both articles are felt the tone was to protect their colleague and quickly move on. To blame Forbes is utterly reprehensible, they'd have been better served trying to explain why he gave the decision rather than making excuses, and not even good ones!
  5. For me it would've been simpler to wait until the Scottish Cup replays next week, and if St Mirren lost we could play them on the 13th rather than the 20th, leaving the Hearts game where it was. We still have a free Saturday on the 20th anyway, and with this arrangement will have an 11 day gap after the visit to Paisley before heading to Dundee.

    Rangers

A very tough call this one. Great shows from Las, Jenno and Crags, but I felt Jimo ran his heart out tirelessly for 90 minutes and was great on the ball, so he just got my vote.
  7. Technically Neil is correct, so I will defend him to a point! Forbes to be fair may not have been sure if the ball was definitely going in though, it was a shot from Crags remember!! No, the fault lies with the linesman. Now, where's Jim Gannon when you need him......
  8. I have to say I thougt we were outstanding last night and would have thouroughly deserved the three points. I doubt Reynolds would've slept much last night after the goal, but that apart he played well in a team that dominated and played good fitba on a surface supposedly not conducive to that. Ironically, the only playing field that wasn't level was that of the match officials joining forces with THEM to deny us the win. Calum Murray really went down in my estimations last night with his leniancy towards Boyd, McCulloch et al, and as for the linesman??? Mind you, a wonderful free kick from Hateley and a superb work ethic from the guys left me content with most things, but somehow for the second time against THEM at Fir Park this season a draw felt like a defeat.
  9. I think Broon will have a tactical masterplan ready for this one. A plan that will negate Rangers midfielders and deny room to their forwards, whilst allowing us to put pressure on their defence. Maybe I've spent too much time thinking about it, but this COULD be the way we line-up tomorrow night: ---------------------------------Ruddy-------------------------------------- ----------Saunders--------------Craigan-----------------Reynolds------------ Hateley--------------------------------------------------------------Hammell ----------------------Lasley----------------Jennings------------------------- ----------Sutton---------------Jutkiewitz----------------O'Brien------------- My thinking is this. The back 3 outnumber the Rangers forwards whilst the wing-backs and central midfield match up to their 4. By playing 3 up front it keeps their full backs occupied and prevents them from attacking, plus Sutty and Jimo can drop in to make us even more solid if needs be. I like it, but I may be in a minority of one!! Prediction? With that team we CAN'T lose!!!!
  10. Yes, his studs seems to catch in the 'turf' when he turned.
  11. Jenno gets my vote for a tigerish display, although Ruddy and the defence were very solid too.
  12. It was an important three points and another clean sheet, so delighted with that. Yes it was an ugly game but it was never going to be a classic, so to win was superb. I think we just deserved it, and this keeps us in confident mood ahead of Wednesday.
  13. Broon's decision to include Fitzy instead of Rossco at Aberdeen last week was in spite of him admitting that Rossco played well at Falkirk, so he seems to be looking at 'horses for courses'. That said I'd be surprised if he changes it for tomorrow, so same team for me. It will probably be close, but then again I said that before last week! I'll say 2-0 for us and will be delighted if we can achieve that.
  14. Brilliant news all round. Congrats to Jack and Victor for the award, and to John Boyle for giving them extended contracts. Here's hoping the lad Spence turns out to be a prospect and becomes the right back we hoped Moutouakil would be, and some of us thought he was! Oh aye, and three points on Saturday would round it all off nicely too!
  15. I don't think its pedantic at all, its common courtesy to get someones name correct, especially one of our own players!
  16. These threads always make me laugh! Years later I always feel a bit of warmth for some of the diddies we watched in Claret and Amber, I just canny help feeling sorry for them! Ayway, a thread like this should always carry the name of Holm Kraska....
  17. I'd love JOB to stay and think he will, unless Aberdeen offer something like 100k we won't entertain it. That said we wouldn't have time to replace him in the squad so I'd veto any move tonight.
  18. My own personal change to improve things would be refs actually talking to players like adults and showing the respect they expect to receive. I'd also love them to talk after games to explain their views on the game they've refereed.

    Aberdeen

Delighted with the result, just wish I'd been there to enjoy it! Up to 5th now and another clean sheet as well, that's 10 for the man they call Ruuuuuddaaaayy! Mon the Well!

I reckon Scott Davie pulled the plug himself!! Thank goodness we're 3-0 up and not hanging on!!

    Aberdeen

Gutted not to be there!!! We go 5th as long as Jefferies mob don't win, superb! I'd get Las off now so as to avoid a possible red. Get Hump and Murph on to run them ragged in the last 25 minutes!

    Aberdeen

Seems to be a 4-4-2 today, so fingers crossed we can do something. Good bench too, with Murph and Hump ready to come on with pace late in the game. Like the fact that Broon has freshened it up too, and good luck to Fitzy wide left, hope he can take his opportunity. Mon the Well!!
  23. We simply do not have a big enough squad to let someone of his calibre go on loan. He seems to be coming on to a game now, and is a tremendous 'impact player' from the bench.
  24. Always thought this would be the best option, good work John boy!! Here's hoping Jack and Victor can lead us into the top six and...well, who knows what else beyond that.
