Wick Academy away anyone?........
-
Whilst the next four games will show us how far we've come, they will in no way make or break our season. Certainly if we can amass 6 points or more then that will be fantastic and we'll be right in the European hunt. As regards the United game I expect it to be close, they almost always are. I'm not sure about team changes for this weekend, although it will be tempting to restore O'Brien to the starting X1. If so who gets left out? For me it's the same team and a 2-1 win for us. Hoping for a Sutty opener and a winner from big Giles.

I think there was a fee agreed when the loan move happened, so we should know what we would have to shell out for big Ruuuuddyyyyy!! I will be delighted if we can extend the loan firstly, as other wealthier clubs could well be sniffing around in January. Signing him long term would be worth it in my view as we'd make a huge profit in selling him on, but I fear it'll come down to bigger wages being offered elsewhere. In that scenario we're screwed, so let's enjoy him for as long as he's in goal for us.

It was the definitive game of two halves. We were on top in the first forty five, despite them having two great chances. Dingus must've put a rocket up the Dons at half time as the came out the traps flying. We never really got going until after they equalised, but in the end a draw as the fairest outcome. Two points dropped or one gained? Bit of both probably.

It certainly wasn't his best showing. He allowed Mulgrew too much room and his crossing was poor, he certainly needs to improve that side of his game.

Only one candidate, Ruuuuuuudyyy!!

I expect a close game as there isn't much between the sides. That said I do believe we have a better squad, so I will stick my neck out and predict a victory for Well by the odd goal. As for the team, I'd go with the following line-up: --------------------------------Ruddy----------------------------------- Moutouakil-------------Saunders-------Reynolds------------Hammell -------------------------------Hateley---------------------------------- ------------------------Jennings-------Coke--------------------------- -------------------------------O'Brien----------------------------------- -------------------------Murphy-----Jutkiewitz--------------------------

Such a shame for Humph, and indeed Hutch. Hope their respective recoveries are speedy ones.
-
He will only be fit to play come late December probably, so I can't imagine he'll be off less than a month later. Here's hoping he sees sense and signs a longer contract with us to continue his development. It'll be great to have him available, but it'd be wrong to expect too much too soon from him given the injury problems.
-
I imagine his comments will only ensure O'Brien tries even harder than usual a week on Saturday. I can't see that the Sheep will offer better wages or opportunities than we will for O'Brien, but I hope he will give us another year anyway.
-
Nicely put, and most folk would agree. It would take all the SPL clubs working together to reduce prices across the board, but I can't see it happening any time soon.

It is a shame what's happened to Derry City, the support they brought over to play Gretna at Fir Park in the UEFA Cup was immense. However if we can pick up a decent player or two then great!

For me goals that would ruin my day are late winners or equalisers for the opposition. I remember all the disappointments mentioned on here myself, it is like primal scream therapy this aint it?!!! Many recent heartbreakers have involved Killie robbing us late on, but the cup defeats when a good run seemed inevitable are always hard to take. Humpings don't usually affect me for days to be honest, when we go 3 behind I've accepted defeat already and have got over it by full time!! No-one has mentioned the Dundee cup tie from 2 seasons ago when a win would've seen us face QOS for a semi final place. That was sore.

Mike Fraser certainly isn't shite, just not as good as Ruddy in my opinion. My vote yesterday went to the Duke, although Hateley, Humphrey and Jenno did well too I thought.
-
It was absolutely hilarious to see the moaning wee ned fall on his annoying face!!
-
What was highlighted on Alba is how many good chances we made and failed to take. Mensing's goal for me was down to Reynolds, who let Mensing run off him to win the header. The second goal was partly down to him too, but he is his own harshest critic and won't need me to tell him that! Going forward I thought the Duke and Jenno were excellent, and I'd give Jenno a start against the Sheep in a fortnight. Defensively we were fine for most of the game, but a couple of moments of slackness cost us the win. I'm surprised that the lack of appropriate injury time hasn't raised its head. Cerny was wasting time at every bye kick and Accies were slow at every throw in too. You could see Gannon counting the seconds a few times on Alba! Considering that both teams made 3 subs and had players treated on the field, to play 4 and a half minutes added time given all the timewasting was shocking. Given there was 7 minutes against the Jambos last week there should've been a similar amount yesterday, otherwise why tell the Accies players to hurry up? He hasn't punished them in any way.
-
I hope this doesn't happen, but if they can tempt him and he wants to go then we're as well agreeing. You don't want a manager who wants to be elsewhere. Come on Jimbo, you know it makes sense!!
-
We played a lot better in the first half I felt, and missed Crags at the back in the second half. The re-shuffle contributed to the 2 goals lost, but in fairness we were also missing Ruddy, Yassin, Hutch and Hammy too so we ran out of options. The missed 'nalty was crucial as had we taken the lead I felt we'd have won comfortably, but as long as Accies were in the match they grew in confidence, and so it proved. We failed to pass the ball well or play intelligently against their ten men, and put ourselves under pressure. Fair play to Accies the worked their socks off, but they are a right dirty shower and can have no complaints about the ref. Indeed I felt he could've be tougher on them. Great comback from the team though, magnificent strike by Murphy and we never gave up. Is it 2 points dropped or one gained due to our late equaliser? All in all it could've been worse I suppose. The break will help us get players fit and gave the whole squad a wee rest too.
-
I anticipate the same team as last week, but then again with Jimbo you never know! He might have a tactical switch to suit this game, but its more than likely to be the same X1 from the Jambos game. Any win would be sweet, I'll say 2-0 with Sutty and Giles on target.
-
Well done to both, reckon we'll get a lot of young player awards this season.
-
I reckon McGarry will leave and perhaps Dazzler and Fitzy could go out on loan. Don't imagine Las and Crags will leave unless they themselves want to.
-
Its always nice when any of our players achieve international recognition, and I feel that Ross is worth an under-21 place. However if being left out keeps his feet on the ground and makes him work even harder to improve his game then great!
-
We were excellent all over the park, but my vote went to big Giles who was everything you want in a midfielder yesterday.
-
Delighted with yesterday on a number of levels. Obviously the win and the clean sheet, but the reaction as a team and of certain individuals to Tuesday's disappointment was very heartening indeed. We were spot on to mix it up a bit more, but any ariel stuff was guided up to Sutty and Duke rather than a bit punt, so that was positive. We also played some great stuff on the ground again, and it was tremendous to see big Giles getting on the ball and pushing forward too. Lovely goal from Rossco and thought that 2-0 would've been a fairer reflection, but a win is a win! Now onto Accies!!

I see Jimbo was on about needing reinforcements in January cos he felt the team were looking a bit jaded, also bemoaning the lack of depth. I feel we DO have enough in reserve to freshen up on Saturday, and this would be my team: Ruddy Hateley Hutchinson Reynolds Hammell Humphrey Jennings Forbes O'Brien Jutkiewitz McHugh I think we'll need the solidity that Hateley will bring up against Driver and the pace of Humphrey against Wallace. In midfield I'd give Jennings a chance beside Forbes and play the fearless Hutchinson against Nade. Up front I'd like to see McHugh start in a genuine front two to see what he can do. That team would definitely not lose, and I'd even say 1-0 to us!
