  1. If both are that far out of the picture at Goodison then then surely getting them off the wage bill would be advantageous? No-one will pay what Everton shelled out on them previously so maybe Moyes will want to cut his losses. I'd take Ruddy in a heartbeat, but I need to see more of Jutkiewicz to make a proper judgement, although clearly he needs to improve on what he's shown so far.

    Betty Pryde

She was a lovely woman who was always cheery and helpful in any dealings I had with her. Motherwell Football Club will be a sadder place without her. RIP Betty.
  3. Its unfortunate that the loudest ones tend to be the most negative and ill-informed tubes inside the ground! If we keep getting on the backs of the younger players it will only have a detrimental effect on them and the team as a whole, is that too difficult to grasp?!! Lets the rest of us shout louder in praise of the team, and drown out the eejits.
  4. Welcome aboard Stewart.

    Loan Deals

My only gripe about our loan deals is that come January we have more work to do to either keep them or replace them. In terms of Ruddy our biggest worry may be a Championship club outbidding us in terms of a fee and wages.
  6. Hope we have no cause to complain about 'rookie' refs, a la Hughes and McPherson!!
  7. Always great when Well players get international recognition, so a huge well done to Ross. What we need to do though is not raise the expectations of him too much, its still his first SPL season after all.

    Hibernian

Went for Yassin, and to be honest there were few good performances today. Ach well.....
  9. Very disappointed at what happened today. Even allowing for the fact that Zemmama ran towards the East Stand to celebrate, and even allowing for the fact that he should have been booked, that's no excuse. The club could get in trouble for this. Considering the young team at the end of the East Stand are always moaning about being mistreated, that was a hell of a way to state your case.
  10. A bad day at the office today, and here's hoping that's all it turns out to be. A few of our better performers were off the boil today and we lacked a bit of bite and sharpness in our play. That said, we knew a bad one was coming, our young team couldn't sustain the run forever. It will be interesting to see how the team react to this defeat, long term it will do us no harm as long as lessons are learned and youngsters gain experience from it. Its certainly far too early to be panicking, and certainly not the time to be abusing some of the players. We'll come back from this I'm sure. Keep the faith perople.
  11. We can't remain unbeaten all season and a blip will arrive at some point, but I don't think it'll be this weekend. Not completely sure if we'll win or it'll end all square, indeed any result is possible. However we will be brimming with confidence and should be positive. Team wise I'd replace Lukas and McHugh with Sutty and Murphy for this one, hopefully Humphrey is available on the bench with pace late in the game. I'll say a 3-1 win for us with Sutty and Murphy amongst the goals, fingers crossed I'm right!

    Co-op Draw

I imagine that more Well fans will make the trip to Paisley for the cup tie than the SPL fixture a few days before, especially if the cup tie prices are better too! The draw itself could've been worse, and I think it'll be tough to predict the semi final line-up as both bigots will struggle in their ties. As long as we progress that's all that matters though!
  13. 100% agree. With Ruddy, Yassin and Lukas only signed until January I'd hope we were looking at either extending those deals or making them permanent, especially in the cases of Ruddy and Yassin. With them being in the shop window they could also be snapped up by a Championship club who can outbid us easily, so any deal would need to be looked at sooner rather than later in my view.

    Inverness

For me our star man was Yassin, fast becoming Motherwell's answer to Carlos Alberto!

Looking at the match it was one of those I had a feeling would be really tough beforehand, and so it turned out. Inverness deserve a lot of credit for hanging in there, especially after going down to ten men. As far as we are concerned it was all about getting through. My only gripe was the loss of two gaols from cross balls, an achilles heel I thought we'd overcome of late. Perhaps our passing and movement was a little laboured at times too, a little more dynamism would've seen us tear them apart. Something to work on. Also, I was disappointed to hear some of the players getting stick last night, particularly the younger ones. After the start to the season I have been expecting a wee dip in form, that's when we need to stick with them. They have been great so far and deserve our 100% backing all the time. Well for the Cup!!
  16. Think most of the WTFCers did that at the QOS friendly a few years back too!! Got in for a quid! Rickoza was a bugger for that too, still getting on for a half in his late 30s!!!
  17. I just felt that Levein had done his homework and ensured that his midfield were in our faces quickly. No-one else has closed down big Giles like United did yesterday, and this must have come from watching our style of play. Didn't get them any points though!!

    Dundee Utd

A good solid team effort, but the win was due to one man...... Rooooooodaaaaaaayyyyy! Get him signed up now!!!
  19. Delighted with the result yesterday. More of a defensive effort that we've been used to of late, but against a very decent United saide you have to accept that. Levein set his side out to deny Coke and Forbes time and space in midfield which is fair enough, especially with them missing Gomis and Robertson. This made it a bit more scrappy. That said we did well at a tough venue to continue our unbeaten run and keep another clean sheet, Great display by Ruddy and good solid stuff from the back four, although Yassin was more of a right winger at times! Considering Hutch is still injured and Crags was on the bench its all the better. It looked like either a draw or first goal the winner yesterday, so it was lucky for us that we scored it. A draw might have been fair but we are getting the breaks just now, but in my view playing well enough to merit them. Three home games coming up now, if we can stay unbeaten to the next international break then that will be a fantastic achievement.
  20. I'm sure Jimbo will have an idea of how to line-up against United, with a strategy on how to nullify their threat whilst focusing on how to expose their weaknessess. That said Levein is a top coach so I anticipate a very tough and close game. I can see us going with a 4-4-2 against United, although who lines up in central defence is anyone's guess. I expect Crags to return but not sure about Hutch, as neither Reynolds nor Hammell deserve to be left out. Going forward I expect the same personnel, with Hateley possibly occupying a more right sided midfield role, with the option to tuck in to allow Yassin to burst forward from right back. My prediction would be a 1-1 draw to keep both unbeaten, but hoping for a 2-1 Well win!
  21. This time last year we were at Prestwick Airport preparing for the first leg of our journey. What a trip it was, truly memorable.

    Rangers

Many excellent perfromers yesterday, making this a very tough decision. However my vote went to big Giles who oozed class and ran the midfield. The composure on the ball is tremendous and his range of passing is superb.
  23. Nice to have some well bias on the telly for a change!!
