  1. Taking our chances would be nice. Otherwise we'll need to grind out a point.
  2. It certainly hasn't helped we've had nothing to offer on the wings this season (and not much creativity from the midfield either).
  3. Also, it's January. If you have a reliable striker that's scoring goals you aren't going to loan him out to us (or anyone else). The only players that are available are ones that are - for whatever reason - needing games to get them back on track.
  4. As I predicted in the match thread, the number of injuries they have means he is just laying the ground work for a sudden Covid outbreak 2 hrs before they face us.
  5. Interesting that the board say the sacking "wasn't based around results instead being centred around culture." Given how many years he's been the gaffer there, it took them a while to figure it out.
  6. Talking down our talent then complaining about low transfer fees. The Motherwell way. He's probably about 4 or 5 years away from his peak, but like Cadden, people forget he's still young because he's played a lot of games. I've no idea how much further he'll develop, but I do remember he used to keep John McGinn quiet every time we played Hibs. Whatever happened to him?

    2021 AGM

So the business model we said we'd develop where we tried to either sell on academy products or bring in free transfers and sell them for a fee, combined with success on the pitch is not impressive? I'm struggling to think of better ways to make a profit than developing players to sell and winning games.

And a positive swing of over £780k to generate that profit.
  9. Aberdeen have been collecting injuries to key players recently and their defence is a calamity. So based on recent events I'm expecting the result here to be a Covid call-off about noon on Saturday.
  10. I hope they disinfected their toys before they threw them out the pram.
  11. The best performance I have seen from us this season was our 3 - 0 win at Pittodrie. That day we played Watt and Long as a front 2. I'm also in the camp that thinks Long can do a job, but we really do need to play him through the middle (with a striking partner). Trying to play him out wide is a complete waste.
  12. Every team is desperate to sign a reliable goal scorer. Any team that sells a reliable goalscorer in January is, to use the footballing term, mental.
  13. Given how many times we've been burned bringing in strikers with strings of low numbers in their history, I don't think concern over stats like 19 goals in 4.5 years in unreasonable.
  14. Mugabi for me as the defenders never get as much credit as the strikers. (Nothing to do with the fact that I used play in defence). If he wins, is the prize to change the spelling of his name in the poll to the correct spelling?
  15. And he's only scored 19 league goals in total since his League One debut in 2016. (Although that's 3 more than Curtis Main during the same period...)
  16. On a completely different note, I've been watching a lot of games the last couple of weeks and the Fir Park surface is still holding up well compared to other Scottish and EPL/Championship pitches.
  17. Wasn't too surprised to see guys like Seedorf and McIver get some time today. While we may all have our own opinions about the squad the new gaffer will want to see as many in action as he can while he assesses his options and figure out who fits with his specific approach to the game. I imagine we'll see a few different faces in January until he settles on his best starting 11.
  18. I don't think sitting deep is a management tactic. I think it's just the players getting nervy. A little more confidence and we should see less of that. Can't really complain about climbing off the bottom of the table with a point from a Rangers game.
  19. Aye, Ross County are one of those "wee" teams that have an owner happy to dig into his pocket as and when required.
  20. Has he not started playing first team football since he came back from injury? I'm sure I saw him last week in their Man City game..
  21. I know what you mean - I think it's just come a little early to judge.
  22. If the new gaffer starts moving us up the table with the same set of core players, then maybe those players need to take more responsibility for their efforts so far this season.
  23. Maybe if we call this a "must win" game now we'll take something from it* *This claim about "taking something from it" is disputed.
  24. Ross County are the only Premiership team Curtis Main has scored against this season, so he missed his big chance today.
  25. That will be the same Hearts fans who thought they were too good for the Championship.
