  1. First viewing on the MFC stream I was convinced it was a foul. Their slow-motion actually made it less obvious. As you say, though, Bruce's reaction seemed to confirm my initial impression.
  2. Ref was bang on. It was actually Long that touched the ball away from the defender just before he was clattered. Sportscene had a camera in exactly the right spot to see it.
  3. I think we have the beating of them, but I don't expect Livi to stand back and admire our pretty passing. They are going to try and bully, manhandle and kick us for 90+ minutes then punt 60 yard balls into our box. It won't be a game for the total footballing aesthete.
  4. What if they sell him to us as part of the Hastie deal?
  5. No disrespect to Robinson, but Hearts can afford better and will likely go for "a name".
  6. Stuart McCall / Kenny Black dream team? Robbie Nielson return? Whoever takes the job will need a guarantee that Levein really is stepping away from the club, otherwise it will not end well.
  7. Even with a video replay it was difficult to tell if the Killie defender touched the ball. From where the ref is standing, however, I can see the argument for reckless even if he touched the ball. (Reckless, under the new guidelines, of course). You'd need to ask the ref what he saw, though.
  8. Safe to say it won't be one for the purists.
  9. If the ref thought it was a foul and a clear goal scoring opportunity, the latest rules say straight red (outside the box). Inside the box it's a pen and yellow. Unless it's a handball that stops a goal, then it's a pen and a red. (I think). So I can see why he gave a red - but as I said at the time, not a fan of the rule. Refs should be allowed some leeway and I doubt anyone would have complained about a yellow and a free kick.
  10. Donnelly's 2nd half free-kick routine must surely put him in with a shout.
  11. He didn't lay a glove on the equalizer as far as I could see. (Poor defending from Carroll and Hartley though).
  12. It has surprised me every time I hear we have scored the most goals outside of the OF this season. Mainly because it often feels like we don't take enough of our chances. Delighted to get 3 points from a very tricky game. Killie proved, as we all expected, to be extremely well drilled at the back and didn't give up too many opportunities. And with only a single goal cushion, they kept us on our toes with some dangerous counters. Robinson must be shaking his head at some of the game management though. At times we were playing like it was 5-a-side at Ravenscraig.
  13. I don't even think it was a shot on goal.
  14. Another Killie cross that goes in. We've made a habit of that.
  15. If nothing else it shows how difficult these decisions are sometimes, even when you have a video to replay. Glad we scored from the free kick though, as the natural thing to do when you go down to 10 men is sit even deeper.
  16. Looked like a foul to me - the whole "getting a touch of the ball" thing is a bit of a red herring as you can still foul someone when you touch the ball (not convinced he did get the ball anyway). Unlucky it was a red though; not a fan of the new rules on that.
  17. St Mirren hadn't lost a league game by more than one goal until they played us and we managed to put that record to bed. I don't expect it will be pretty this evening, but if ever there was a game we need to score early, it's this one.
  18. Based on his comments last season, I think Gerrard was more than ready to punt him on the basis he'd rather take some cash and invest in someone that could score AND was available for selection every week.
  19. Came on as a sub in the 56th minute according to the Beeb (and managed a booking).
  20. When we played St Mirren at home, we had 19 shots. Killie had 5 shots.
  21. I hear Parks of Hamilton have already delivered Kilmarnock's luxury coach, ready for parking.
  22. As the club mentioned at the time, it took us over 6 months to negotiate the deal for McKinstry, and both of the clubs were very keen to work things out amicably. It's just a slow process once the lawyers get involved. I presume that rather than go with a one-time feem we have tried to negotiate some sell-ons for Hastie (at the expense of lowering the initial payment owed), but Rangers are either dragging their heels or not playing ball. Regardless of the reason, the authorities have more power than HMRC to make them pay up either our agreed fee or one they calculate, as they simply cancel his registration until the cash is coughed up.
  23. Aye, Rangers don't let us share the broadcast for MFC TV. As it's not being shown live on TV, I expect any stream will be the Rangers TV commentary - so probably a good day for the mute button.
  24. I can somewhat understand the formation and the idea we need to keep it tight at the back, but a little concerned we have nobody wide for the out ball - unless the expectation is Long will play that role.
