  1. Our wee section of the East looked busier than usual but the Main stand and Cooper look no busier or if anything quieter, with a poor away support crowd figure looks about right give or take a few.
  2. I'm sure Forbes is a fit lad compared to average guy on here but someone compared his ability to last the pace unfavourably to Steve McGarry and he wasn't wrong. At the moment he is having no real impact on the game one way or another. Playing out wide without pace is certainly not easy but if he wants to step up a level he either needs to find a right foot as good as his left or more of an engine to get about the park better as right now I'd take McGarry ahead of him. Even a half interested looking Coke gets involved more.
  3. I see no similarities, Lasley always had a good engine and never showed anything like the same ability to strike the ball as well as Forbes did earlier in the season. I agree he young and needs time and more careful nurturing but a Lasley replacement he isn't. If he can refind some good form and make it I'd imagine it would be as a more creative player rather than the, and I say this with much respect, the jack of all trades Lasley.
  4. Just to add my opininion that for last how many weeks they been playing together they've been doing rather well, a couple of poor team performances shouldn't see them scapegoated.
  5. Even if we implode and finish 6th brown still deserves a hell of a lot of credit for the job he's done since he took over. Certainly wouldn't be immune from criticism but when I think of the best Motherwell teams I've watched in my time like the cup winning team with likes of Cooper, Boyd, young Phil O'Donnell, the 93-95 vintage with top players like McKinnon, Lambert, Sieb, Tommy Coyne, the first season under McGhee etc if you wracked your brain or checked the old match reports you wouldn't be short of chronically poor abject performances in there. So despite people being entitled to be frustrated and disappointed when we play really poorly I do wonder why they aren't a bit more used to it even when times are pretty good. It happens and if we replaced Brown with Cappello it'd still happen. Hopefully we shall arrest the slide, at least hold of Hearts for 5th and get the cup final we need to get into europe and be bloody delighted at the season we've had rather than feeling like we've let slip a great opportunity at the end of the season.
  6. Forbes proved earlier in the season he had talent but right now he should be nowhere near our first XI. Maybe out left he is out of position but it is really exposing his weaknesses big time and I find it amazing he seems so unfit.
  7. Not been on for a couple of days, but saw this and my first thought was surprise at everton extending his deal. Not even for of a fraction did I think he might have signed on for us so, reckon O'Brien would have more plausibility for an April Fool.
  8. The promise of potential revenue must make a difference!
  9. First one was tight but looked onside to me, 2nd one was definately offside. That was a shocking challenge for the red card and oh my tragi-comedy stuff with the defending. Missed opportunity to really stake a claim for 3rd place, hopefully we'll brush it off and help condemn Falkirk to the drop on saturday.

    Clarky

Would rip yer arm off to have him back! Maybe he isn't able to hack it in the championship maybe he is but he largely being played out of position and not getting a regular game, where as he proven by far he can do a great job for us in his final two seasons. There is always a risk when a player comes back but he certainly good enough when match fit and confident!
  11. It's null and void as we won the fucking thing!
  12. Ach he can if he likes and as fatcalf points out they aren't off for two weeks, something like a week tops by sound of it and it probably only 3 or 4 days training before a full week preparing for the Utd game. Win, lose or draw the Utd game I reckon it a good idea, a bit of mental and physical rest and plenty time to put a bit of work in on the training ground before a big game.

    Hearts

Hard to choose, Lasley, Jennings and Sutton stood out a bit more ahead of solid performances all round. So in a tie break scenario there guess that means housewife favourite status wins the day.
  14. A point is ok, delighted to not have forked out to watch it though. Hopefully 3 points and a better game on saturday.
  15. Average attendance 98/99 was about 8500.
  16. Is this a reaction to losing a goal at the weekend, bit ott if it is! Seriously hope Forbes, Coke and Humphrey get up the park ro not leave Sutton isolated. From what I heard O'Brien and Lasley were a bit below par at weekend so expected some changes but not quite so seemingly radical.
  17. One up front. Sounds like a grim match awaits. Hope we get a result but kinda glad I'm not there just now!* *Hoping for a 3-0 win and making that statement look silly.
  18. A yo-yo team is one that goes up and down on a regular basis, for example up from the first divsion but not quite good enough to stay in the premier league and goes up and down on a fairly regular basis. So we are not a yo-yo team.
  19. Take Malpas out that list I really couldn't agree. Sure early euro games and first 5 maybe 6 weeks or so of the domestic season and we seemed to play some decent easy on the eye stuff, after that is was getting pretty turgid. As boring and ineffective to watch a team as I can remember, not even just running out of ideas in the final 3rd just plain pish. Without being a slave to playing it short we are playing fitba the now that is getting results and fairly decent to watch, much better than last few months of Gannons time. Even under Butcher in first season or two we weren't all route one, though we did seem to fall back on humping it for Skippy to chase more and more during that last season and frankly being awful to watch under Malpas. Enjoy it while it good though as superb as Broon has been doing we'll be rebuilding in summer again no doubt. Fingers crossed we can make some cash and Brown can hopefully spot a player as well as he can seemingly motivate and organise them.
  20. Yet another communication lapse from the club. How hard is it to remember that the fans are the people that make the club worth anything, the reason for its continued existence? Yet despite the occasional burst of communiques you get a change that impacts on the fans and it a case of "whoops we meant to tell you." Will always be the same it seems despite protestations of things improving.
  21. Horrendous mistake aside he had a great game that day. Shit happens and was a good player for us that at his best was as good a right back as we've had in my time bar maybe Nijholt.

    Hibernian

Thought Sutton did as well against Bamba and we didn't let him snuff out our attack almost single handed for once. So went for him though Murphy played well again also.
  23. Red card for O'Brien? Someone talking out their arse, retaliation would need to involve some violent conduct. O'Brien squared up to Miller and got the booking his actions meriting, no more no less.
  24. Not a great idea and I don't think it is going to make those that get tanked up for some games limit themselves. Besides who could afford the over priced bevy on offer on top of the overpriced gate price anyway?
