    John Ruddy

Still big Sieb for me, Ruddy pulling alongside fast though. Single best Motherwell goalie performances in match at Fir Park against the h**s for Sieb might be about all there is between them, well that and the swinging on the bar and the pornstar tache. Despite the odd clanger from Sieb felt he commanded his box better, but Ruddy is pretty solid and though as pointed out had a good few clangers himself this season they do appear to disappearing the more he playing.
  2. "Shock news as Rangers and Celtic football clubs have been declared illegal organisations and all assets stripped and proceeds distributed between remaining Scottish football clubs"
  3. 4th is definately a reasonable target, no mean feat but well worth aiming for. Anything top 6 and it still been a no bad league campaign. Right now looking at the league table is a bit frustrating when you think of this latest offside debacle, the one against Utd and also the missed pen the time the h**s were here before this one and how much better it might look.
  4. In my opinion Reynolds flatters to decieve, theres a decent player in there that could go onto better things if he cut out some of the blunders he makes but right now he is what he is and that is an average SPL defender who sometimes gives the impression he is better than that but undercuts it with moments of horrendous defending. Last nights mistake is on the face of it inexplicaple and it cost us just as much as the linesman did. Craigan for all his own limitations is very much the better defender and whilst I think Reynolds has the raw tools to surpass him by and large I know which one I'd rather we had fit and healthy week in week out.
  5. Is it a Paul Slane type strain, can we expect him to br playing for Celtic reserves next season?
  6. My memory any doubts over Gerrard were never to do with stamina, he was always able to put himself about, it was niggling injuries he kept picking up as a younger player, something that pretty much faded during his best years. If Forbes as a 21 year old is so far off the pace I have serious doubts that he'll ever get there. Maybe a change in approach to his training is required, would certainly like to see him come on as techincally gifted players are few and far between at our level. Thing is he isn't so good on the ball that he can get away with being unfit as he appears to be. He looks like a passenger lately and if he not actively setting up or scoring goals every other game then he a man down nearly. Fingers crossed for him that he bounces back.
  7. Where did they find highlights in that travesty of a football match!
  8. Quite agree and others have opinions that can't be swayed by any reasoning and are barely worth argueing with who depsite two solid seasons of scoring and creating goals insist someone isn't very good.
  9. Your quite right, I was thinking of Thomas. I'd actually wiped Tony Vaughan from the memory banks, so cheers just had a wee cold sweat run down my back there as it resurfaced!
  10. Of more interest is the comment that Brown seems inclined to give Spence a contract. A decent right back would not go a miss despite Hately doing ok there.
  11. Harsh I mind him being pretty decent at first but when we signed him we knew he had a chronic injury that was career threatening and he could barely train, bit like Paul McGrath and Ledley King and unfortunately for us it seemed to be even worse than those two as he deteriorated badly and went from a guy we could only get because of that to as being chonic as you remember him.
  12. Harsh on Corrigan, he was excellent for a spell but it was preceded by a couple of seasons of ordinaryness and followed by a failure to recapture best form after injuries. Good servant who deserves to be remembered well although if you only concentrate on the better couple of seasons or so and forget the rest then you could argue he is remembered through C&A coloured specs a bit.
  13. Liking the blue sampdoria style one, that as an away kit for the 125th anniversary season and like the idea of the replica of the first C&A style one for the 100th anniversary of wearing claret and amber.
  14. It is utterly ridiculous looking, it not often Frazzle is the more sensible looking one in a picture!
  15. Aye but only because in a lot of peoples eyes when Reynolds does it they jump on here and blame Craigan anyway!
  16. My memory of Kirk was that he wasn't all that good a player but he did have a knack of scoring goals now and again. A club legend but yeah he certainly did take pelters in his time, underrated at the time perhaps but the claret and amber tinted specs for some seem to be taking the white Pele tag a bit to seriously.
  17. Jason Dair was just decidely average, nothing like the worst of the worst. In regard to Mair, I must only have saw him after he got crumped by yon meaty tackle!
  18. Mair is mentioned earlier on yes, truly rank!
  19. Would seem as good an explanation as any.
  20. Agree with that, about as good as Klimpl for us. Put himself about a bit, gave the ball a way a good bit, plenty of determination but not a whole lot else.
  21. Sacrilage! Big Sieb was occasioanlly eratic but mostly outstanding. Better than ruddy, although I'll give Ruddy credit and say he's closing the gap.
  22. Both these players have had plenty stick at times, Clarkson in particular during his lean seasons and plenty people give Lasley pelters seemingly for just being good and popular amongst some sections for being a committed and decent football player. As if because he isn't that bit better he doesn't deserve praise and you are then guilty of 'man love' if you proclaim a fondness or liking for him. As for difference in quality for example between Fitzpatrick and Lasley ther maybe isn't a gulf but Lasley is basically far more polished and composed whilst in recent seasons Fitzpatrick who I like and reckon can do a job often looks like a rabbit staring at car headlights in possession of a football, or like a Keith Lasley in front of goal but basically at any area of the pitch.
  23. In my memory I agree with your overall opinion of the player but was making a few costly mistakes and rightly dropped at least for a spell. Only got punted due to administration and I suspect otherwise would have came back stronger with us rather than elsewhere but thems the breaks.
  24. Bit harsh on Keegan, by no means good enough but a few years younger and he might have been ok. At 35 or whatever he didn't have the legs but you could see what he was trying to do, and not a total travesty just not very good. Malcolm, Moatouakil more recently have just been pure murder. From younger days Gordan Mair rings a bell as someone who was as good as a man down, Mark Caughey and Paul Baker in the utterly useless frontmen category stand out a mile. Ally Graham was also murder!
