yeah not a complaint as such, leastaways not while we are generally picking up results. Just an observation and reckon we will hit our stride in front of goal sooner or later.

Remember him popping up at Crystal Palace and not doing much. Was quick and caused us a lot of problems.

Was it Joonas Kolkka I think that also played for Mypa in that tie that really caused us bother. Went on to play for PSV Eindhoven and few other decent teams, not a legend but just a right decent player that helped MyPa along to victory unfortunately.

Think we were well worth the point today. It a bit unfair to complain about lack of clear goal scoring oportunities against likes of Rangers and Celtic but as a team we look fairly solid, fairly good on the ball but not awfully threatening in the final third. Certainly won enough corners today but the front two as yet don't look the part. Individually I reckon Juskiewicz and Murphy have shown enough to at least persevere with but how I wish we had a Porter and Clarkson up front. Hopeful they will strike up a more dangerous partnership in due course but it is currently our biggest weakness our seeming impotence from open play.

No game til week on saturday not that bothered if they got swine flu, should be recovered in time.

Don't give a toss, we were never keeping him if he played well I just hope he backs up his ambition with solid performances for us and good luck to him if he does that.

Frazzle, Melvin Bragg, Mitch by any chance? Which one of the three talks the most pish or loudest?

Very sad news indeed. Only heard good things about her. RIP.

No doubt but my still admittedly early impression is that he is having a slighter higher ratio of dodgy moments and treble wonder save aside at Tannadice not going to be as generally impressive. Happy to be proved wrong and still pretty positive about him but just don't see him progressing to upper half EPL standard. Do hope we at least get an extension to his loan, though maybe Graeme Smith will be looking for a wee loan spell come january? As for Jutkiewitz I think he has shown potential to be a useful signing for us but much work needed. Hoping by January to see enough improvement that we want to keep him but he does have a lot of convincing to do. Should get plenty opportunity between now and then with only him and Sutton providing a physical presence up front. Don't see a future at Everton for him though, not enough stand out attributes.

Have to say that Ruddy does look pretty good but don't think he'll ever threaten Everton's first team. Good but not brilliant. On early showing maybe our best keeper since Sieb but more inconsistent and a prone to mad moments.

We'll have to agree to differ. I'd portion the blame squarely on clubs abusing the power they held over players and it was only a matter of time before it happened and if it hadn't been Bosman it'd have been someone else.

+1 Bit suspicious of people with memories that good of OF games!

Where you aren't impeding other peoples enjoyment of the game by standing up just leave it be. By all means make people aware that the do so at their own risk but if you not blocking anyones view or actively starting a riot leave people to watch the game standing, sitting or a combination of both depending on how exciting the game is. As for no smoking, there is no problem where I stand with people lighting up. Given we're in an open air environment I feel quite fortunate that the smoking ban applies. That said common sense would dictate at least letting the smokers nip down to the steps at half time/during game if they wish to calm their jittery nicotine sapped nerves. The last two points I completely agree, no place for throwing objects it is dangerous and no place for racism/sectarianism it is just plain ugly. As for yer last editorial, not agreeing over much. Just because there are kids there. I don't think we should have to santize fitba grounds because the little darlins might pick up some bad language. they'll pick it up in all manner of places, we have a family section for younger kids and it is up to their parents to explain these thigns to kids. Why it might be considered right or wrong and so on. I agree to an extent words are just words but some are loaded with more meaning than others, the racial/sectarian stuff not just bad language. I do agree with your last point but at same time I wouldn't judge people for getting riled up or going tonto. Better screaming your lungs out at the fitba than lamping someone. Most weeks I'm pretty laid back at the games but from time to time I'll get worked up enough to have a little froth at the mouth. But after the game other you move on and leave it behind you. I don't agree that because rules are there you should follow them. All authority has to justify itself to us not the other way round.

Dunno you counted how many signing on fees Jim Hamilton has picked up in his career? My main point though was don't blame Jean Marc Bosman it not really his fault. Hard to guage who benefits most. Not that many big players move under freedom of contract but at same time it is definately something that puts power in their hands re contracts and engineering moves. Where to begin with whats wrong in fitba, the amount of money is what distorts it as much as anything else. But it is incredibly frustrating at times supporting a club like ours that tries to develop young players but can barely have them play half a dozen games before your wondering who is going to poach them. Mind you we do benefit sometimes re signings of Porter, Coke and Humphrey. It definately not ideal but seeing as it only really smaller clubs that suffer I'm not holding my breath on moves to improve matters.

not harsh enough, should be being forced to watch Airdrie every week! edit- whilst sober!
-
Talking in particular about Bosman who wasn't at a big club making big money. If for example Sol Campbell had been made to stay at Spurs when his contract ended and had his wages slashed from £30k a week to £3k a week whilst they sorted out his future I wouldn't be shedding any tears either. However if you are on the wage of a lower SPL or scottish first division club the downside could have worse consequences.
-
That still requires the buying club to be willing to commit to arbitration. Risk for them being left with a fee that is beyond their willingness or capability to pay. Not sure how often in practice that was ever a problem but it still less than ideal. I think the system as is regards to younger players like Slane needs to strengthened to protect clubs willing to develop young home grown players. For example if he leaves us at end of the season for Celtic as well as initial compensation think we should be entitled to a guaranteed substantial percentage of future sell on fee and even a set fee per year linked to say his wage for a period of time. When exactly these should expire and how much are debateable but if he goes on to be a superstar we should get a right good whack and if he goes no where then what we get would reflect that.
-
The after effects of that case have hardly helped clubs like ourselves but how would you like to be sitting at your work, out of contract and being unable to move to a new job that is waiting for you because your current company hasn't received an offer it is happy with for your services? Whilst at the same time reducing your wages in the meantime. Probably not very happy. Clubs abused the power they had over players and there in lies the blame for the pendulum swinging so far back the other way. If it wasn't Bosman it would have been someone else sooner or later.
-
O'Brien has been a stand out this season. Behind much of our attacking play, could still improve end product at times but causes opposition defenders more problems than rest of team combined. Slane looks like a great prospect, far from proven or finished article but looks like the most exciting youth player to come through since McFadden. Be galling if we lost him before we got a chance to see him make a name for himself in claret and amber. I expect both these players to move onto bigger things but I think they'd be better served playing here for a bit longer at least.
-
I was unaware of any abuse directed to Zemmama before he scored. So it annoyed me a bit his celebration as it was more than a bit ungracious and lacking in class. Not least as he was in perfect position to go and celebrate with his own fans. That said if he was taking it tight then I do agree if you dish it out you should be able to take it. Definately a booking by the rules of todays game though, one I'd happily see changed despite the angry reactions it can cause from time to time, and his wee waving antics after a talking to only irritated the fans near him more. Ref could have defused a lot of the attention by booking him. Might not have stopped the idiot antics of others later on but wouldn't have hurt if he'd got punishment expected. Anyone making monkey noises or throwing objects at him deserves a life ban, idiot pond life really quite simple.
-
I dunno about deserves to start. Did ok on the few occasions we got the ball to him but if we start him it either means dropping O'Brien or changing the system quite a bit to accomodate two wingers. Think I'd be happier seeing him come off the bench to make an impact for a few more games before putting him back in the starting XI. Clearly the obvious temptation after such a woeful performance is to make whole sale changes but we'll see how Gannon reacts, make big changes or maybe he'll give them the chance to make amends right away.
-
Someone needs shooting if that is what we offering him. I ken he only a young lad just breaking through but he clearly a promising talent and if we trying to fend of likes of Celtic that is an absolute joke of an offer. True enough if he is out of contract we could offer him ten times that much and he might still not sign but I'll be very disappointed if we lose both these players for nothing or peanuts.
-
I did nip to the toilets but is it not the case that you were standing as you often do behind the back row rather than in it and you were asked to move into the seating area, and possibly to sit doon as well. Yer dad also got moved on sharply for stopping to talk to you at same bit. Still arsey behaviour from the steward superivsor guy who was a pecker all night!

What an infantile and useless contribution to a thread. Thems the rules, are you the yellow jaiked supervisor with the small tadger complex or what?
