  1. 100 folk at possibly £10/month is £12000/year extra going into the society's account! I hope everyone gives the society at least a year to get things going. This is great news and possibly proves that LH was right to sign the club over early to give us a kick up the arse and get things moving. With a bit of luck more folk will continue to sign up and if the society can avoid upsetting folk then they will keep the direct debits set up for further years. COYW.
  2. I always find it best to drop into the station at Motherwell if you have the time as the folk there always know the best deals available.
  3. That's another option we could look at
  4. One money raiser that I've thought about is one where we get shops to sign up to paying £120 a year and what they get is a sticker for their shop window telling folk they support the society and listed as such in some of our programmes over the season. It would be best if someone visited each shop rather than mailing them and I know this is a lot of leg work for someone ( I'm not even sure if there is the people available to go into every shop around the district) but I believe we should be looking into such things.
  5. We could always get one of our players to do unto him what he did to Ainsworth at the start of the game on the last day of the season at pittodrie a few years back and try breaking the fuckers leg!
  6. If the South Americans had taken over they would have got them to sign longer contracts using South American negotiation tactics.
  7. Good piece in which he answers most of the questions people are asking.
  8. Maybe the directors will sell the ground for £20 million, build a new box stadium at the 'Craig for £10 million and pocket the rest - no need to worry about things until they happen.
  9. My only contact with anyone from the society apart from emails was when I met one of the board members in the new century after a game around Christmas - I didn't know who he was when we started chatting about the game but after a quick 3 minute chat he gave me his card and asked me to contact him if I had concerns. I then seen him chatting to other fans and it looked like he was trying to make himself known.
  10. That's my understanding of how it works. I also think that - as usual - there is a lot of panicking over nothing.
  11. [quote name="underboyleheating" post="466884" timestamp="1458048544 ..... you need to remember that there was nothing much else to do with your spare time. True, working in the mornings, pubs shut in the afternoon, no tv, cars or out of town shopping centres to be dragged along to, not having to spend "quality" time with your wife and family and no money to spend on anything - cheap football was all there was.

Would love a win against Utd but think we will do well to get a draw and with our run up to the split I believe that both ITC and PT have a better chance than us to pinch a top 6 place. After the split I suspect we will do well and finish 8th or 9th (sad to think that I now think these places are a good finish but that's where we are as a club at the moment). Having said that, it's a pity the Dundee & StJ games finished the way they did or we could have been sitting dreaming of a Euro spot! Agree with B_B that Utd will over take Killie but not so sure if they can better Accies.
  13. Thought Cadden had a good game, agree that Skippy didn't stop but got to disagree with LankyMac about Peason - thought he was missing most of the game.
  14. i didn't realise I'd said he had abandoned the 5 year plan - if I did then I apologise. The point I was trying to make is that he never said he was our saviour and had only offered to help us out with an interest free loan and its up to us to enable the club to move forward from then.
  15. That is plan b - sell the club and get his money back. Plan a was sell the club to the supporters and get his money back. Bottom line is the guy wants and deserves his money back - we need to remember at the time he got involved, John Boyle was looking to sell the club with similar plans but he wanted his cash up front and the society didn't have it. Les stepped in and has given the supporters the chance over 5 years to buy the club - whether we do or don't is not his problem only getting his cash back is.
  16. Don't get your sugar daddy and plaything patter unless your at the windup. The guy has said from day one that he doesn't want to own Motherwell but was willing to help the club get the fan ownership scheme up and running, we are less than half way through the 5 years set out to achieve that goal, so if he does decide to walk away from that commitment given the lack of support for the scheme could anyone blame him? The down side is that he'd still want his cash back and would be within his rights to sell the club to whoever has the cash.
  17. And are still above us - which sums up the dross we've been watching
  18. Tonight's team, master stroke, madness or masterbation?
  19. Although I'd prefer Johnston to start I'd be happy with Ainsworth starting but I'll be pissed off if they both start - both don't track back and we cannot afford to leave both full backs exposed. The central pairing can handle covering one wing but not both.
  20. That would have been the Cove players wife's & girlfriends who were having mass orgasms anytime Cove got near our box - thought the stewards were going to put out some slippy when wet signs on the stairs.
  21. Another good performance from McDonald, looks like he's getting back to the player he was. I was really impressed with his fitness - 85 min in and he was still chasing down balls and showing great commitment like it was the 1st minute. Never been his biggest fan but credit where it's due.
  22. Remember that game for the amount of kids constantly shouting Motherwell in their high pitched voices - did my head in as I had a hangover!
  23. I've got a horrible feeling that with 6 months left on his contract, Utd will allow him to leave in January and that he is being touted by his agent to English championship teams. This could be the reason an extension hasn't been agreed yet - obviously hope I'm wrong.
  24. There used to be a girl who stood close to the main stand when the FP club was open but I've not seen here since, I used to buy a£5 each time I was there.
