  1. A pleasing and rewarding win yesterday. It was thoroughly deserved. A real team performance but for me, Gallagher and O'Hara just shone above the others. The latter has really settled in at central defence. Watt worked hard, took his goal well but things didn't always come off for him. Right now 4-3-3- seems the best formation and its bringing us success. Disappointing to lose Cole and Lang through injury but it wasn't surprising given the way Livi played. There would have been a few more on the treatment table this morning. As expected they were physical, uncompromising and combative, with Bartley kicking anything that moved. Overall a niggly game with a few personal battles going on. The first half was fairly even possession wise but we created the chances and whats more took them. Livi were playing against the wind and launched everything into the air. A deserved half time lead. The second half was an entirely different game. We managed the game very well, not something we've always done. Playing against the wind we were content to sit back. We also missed Cole's movement up front. Jordan White just doesn't seem to be cutting it. Livi played along the deck much more, dominated possession and also exerted a lot of pressure but it was toothless and powder puff. Our midfield struggled a wee bit against more abrasive opponents and were forced deep at times but in the main our 2 full backs, especially McGinley, coped well. O'Hara and Gallagher were rocks in the middle and as a result Chapman was rarely tested. All in all a good result and performance on a dreadful pitch and in horrific weather conditions. Lets hope our injury list hasn't lengthened.
  2. Gallagher or O'Hara for me. On balance I'm going for Big Dec. It was largely due these two that Chapman had little to do. They stood firm in the face of some heavy Livingston pressure.
  3. Interesting that Falkirk is charging £14 for Division 1 games. Looking forward to watching the game on Alba later. No classic but a wins a win.
  4. Great result and another clean sheet. Will be watching it on Alba. How dod Chapman and Maguire play?
  5. Not a day or location for trying to play great football.
  6. A 3 - 0 can be awarded, although that’s not immediately clear. However your suggested outcome would not be fair to us. We had to suffer disruption, financial loss and also a fixture backlog. Apart from Accies no other team suffered as a result of this call off. Even then Accies were given more warning than us and therefore less disruption. A lot of course depends on what St Mirren’s failures actually were.
  7. I don't think we do. If we do have other keepers on the books they won't be match fit nor will they be older than about 16 but there are others who know the youth set up better than me, who are better placed to answer your question.
  8. Good post Goggles. I think many, possibly even most, folk have breached the Covid 19 guidelines in some way. Mostly in a very minor way though. However as you say a "significant minority" are simply not prepared to do so ie large scale house parties, refusal to wear face coverings, refusal to self isolate or quarantine. Surprisingly, its sometimes those you'd least expect to breach guidelines or be irresponsible. Its costing all of us especially the elderly and vulnerable. I don't doubt that a significant proportion of infections are down to selfishness, although financial considerations do come into it to some extent. Not being Political but you're right about Thatcherism and you've been able to see evidence on these very fora for some years now - "I'm all right Jack" & "Whats in it for me?" That said these fora have also shown the best in our society from time to time. I can't see fans back in grounds for months to come maybe even until next season. We all need hope though to pull us through.
  9. Thats what Livingston will do. Its certainly not a surface to try and play silky football on.
  10. Sorry clumsy choice of words. I meant to say, that within the laws of the game, we were allowed 5 subs and we only used 4.
  11. Irrespective of who we did bring on, we could legally have brought on another sub, a youngster. I can see a case for Crawford, although he's unavailable next weekend, as OTF says. Hastie - what has he done to justify bringing him on?
  12. Lots of posiitves to be taken from yesterday's game but I still wasn't comfortable with our defence. Ross Stewart is a handful but he could easily have notched 4 goals in a short space of time. We're not comfortable with high balls into our box and are vulnerable down the wings. A better team would have punished us. That said, we've had to contend with alot of defensive injuries this season and haven't been close to fielding our best rearguard. I've never been a Devante Cole fan; he's been ok in my book nothing more, but yesterday he made us tick up front with his physical presence and constant movement. More of that please.
  13. Would agree with that. We could even have brought on one or two with 5 minutes or less to go and that's being cautious.
  14. Great win, 4 goals and a clean sheet. Defensively suspect but clinical finishing won the day! Watt my MOTM.
  15. Great header by Big Dec and finish by Lang.
  16. Stewart could have had a hat trick there.
  17. Its certainly leaving the midfield short and they're struggling as it is.
  18. Great to be a goal up but we're not playing that well. A nicely crafted and taken goal though. We need to defend the wings better and the midfield is struggling; perhaps because of the formation? Could be along second half unless we up our game.
  19. We need to bottle up the wings...no point in making it easy for County.
  20. This has been the poorest streaming yet.
  21. We’re down to the bare bones defensively and Ross County will know it.
  22. In every organisation there will be some complacent and/or reckless staff; thats just human nature.
