O'Hara is a real unit and offers physicality in central midfield. He's an experienced player who plays defensively. He can also play in the back four. He'll plug a gap where we're short. Despite being a public corporation, the BBC's Scottish sports unit acts like a commercial entity hence the obsession with Celtic and Sevco. Hibs are a far far larger club than us with a much bigger support. Commercially its much better sense to hack off 4,000 fans than 17,000 fans. Speculation on my part of course.

Fair point. All I can think of is that our highlights last 3 mins 42 seconds, whilst the BBC's last 4 mins 42 seconds, so there is more scope for the BBC to have included the incident. From a commercial point of view though it makes sense to exclude it.

We're long time admirers of O'Hara and tried to sign him when he left Dundee but neither us nor Killie could remotely match Peterborough's offer at that time. I'll be surprised if he chooses us over Killie given that he knows the club and their offer will be somewhat higher than ours. That said he might well get gametime with us whereas he'd probably be a bench warmer at Rugby Park.

Going by Robbo's recent comments and yesterday's performance I think we'll try to sign a No 9 striker and a central defender. Despite scoring 3 yesterday we missed a barrowload of chances which, if that continues, could prove costly. We also don't have anyone who can play as a lone striker, should we want to play that way. Robbo was quoted as saying that when Hartley wasn't available for the Hearts game we were short in central defence, and as nothing has changed since then, I assume he's still looking to sign someone for that role. Speculating a bit we do seem short on the wings, and as both Hylton and Seedorf are inexperienced at this level a decent winger might also be on the agenda. We usually play our cards close to our chest when signing players and I expect this window will be the same, so nothing would surprise me.

A lot is down to the very subjective opinion of the broadcasters. As far as I'm concerned now the whole disciplinary system is, at best, a complete shambles, if not worse.

I had to make do with watching the game on Alba last night and we clearly deserved the 3 points. Scott, Hartley, Grimshaw and Polworth caught my eye but I couldn't help but notice how effective Gallagher was in the air. Aerially, not much got past him and he's a real asset at our corner kicks. I didn't think we looked particularly comfortable until, the second goal went in and worryingly defensively Hibs opened quite a few gaps and were allowed to see the whites of Gillespie's eyes more than they should have done. Fortunately Hibs lacked a killer touch up front. That said, it was another clean sheet so we're clearly doing something right at the back. Quite a few of the new lads now seem to be coming onto a game but we need to give them time. Thats especially true of Seedorf and Hylton but there's definitely players in there. Polworth looks to be settling in nicely. Some baffling refereeing decisions especially Hylton's rejected penalty claim. I wonder if the Compliance Officer will be interested in Long and Whittaker's challenges? A big win for us going into the international break. Still that will break up continuity but hopefully our momentum won't be affected.

Didn't make it today but what a great result. Three goals and clean sheet. Credit to the management and players. Going by online comments, it seems like we still lack a bit of a cutting edge up front, which seems strange given that we won 3-0.

Hard to say how this is going to go as both teams have been a bit up and down so far. Anything less than a draw however would be a bad result. If we can perfom solidly, making no mistakes then the least we'll achieve is a point. That might not be as easy as it sounds however.

I can't say I'm overly concerned at missing out on him. Despite all the drama he was always going to end up back in Perth. In recent years he hasn't ever looked like recapturing his early form and has looked like a supercharged headless chicken. Going by past activity we're more likely to sign an unknown player from England. Time will tell.

A good result today albeit against 10 men. A win and its always great to beat Accies, especially on their own "turf". The crowd was well down on normal and whatever their reasons for imposing an extra PATG charge it backfired... losing money and 3 points. Couldn't have happened to a nicer club. That will take the pressure off us somewhat and hopefully we can acquire a couple of signigns before the transfer deadline. A good day all round.

Of course they but so are the prices of football in general (Dundee's adult prices start for example at £24.00 and as you know they're in the Championship). That is a completely separate topic however. This thread is about a targeted price increase.

We can still moan Busta. You don't compare the definition of category A and B matches. In terms of age concessions those aged 60-64 are included at Fir Park but excluded at Hamilton (and at all other Premisership grounds I think). Accies fans, aged 60-64, attending a Lanarkshire derby at Fir Park will be charged £17, whilst Well fans in the same age bracket will be charged £25 at Hamilton. I'm beginning to think, as Weeyin hints above, that this price hike isn't about the financial "benefit" to Accies.

Given their off the field ticketing stunt I'd be surprised if they don't pull some on the field stunt as well. They have previous for watering the pitch "selectively" shall we say.

So why not change the pricing category for other clubs who regularly fill the away stand (Hibs, Hearts, Aberdeen) as Santheman points out?

The window for English league 1 and 2 clubs closes early next month and thats the market I'd envisage for Hartley.

IF we are in for Jack Hendry (Scott Burns is usually pretty accurate where we are concerned), then that suggests that a central defender is about to leave. Peter Hartley? He seems to be pretty far out of the picture. A lot will depend on what the deal would be in terms of paying part of his wages. I get the feeling generally that we'll see a fair bit of movement ie 2 or 3 signings and a departure or two before the window ends.

Decided to give this game a miss now due to being fleeced. It'll be interesting to see how the crowd is affected by this opportunistic, greedy and targeted hike in prices. Although I'm luckier than most in that I'm an age concession its the principle of this move rather than the cost. In order to compensate for the loss of revenue incurred by every Well fan deciding not to go it'll take 5 who go, to pay for it. Its a personal decision and each to their own. Instead I'll make a donation to the Well Society, so that our club and not Accies will benefit.

I'm using Jake Carroll's Livingston case as a baseline, where the referee and/or assistant referee saw the incident at the time and gave him a yellow card. The Compliance Officer then saw fit to reopen the case and upgrade it to a red. Whats the difference?

Well, if thats not a case for the Compliance Officer I'm a total and utter loss as to what is. If no action is taken then the system is well and truly f****d.

Good to hear he scored 2 goals. That will surely do his confidence the world of good. Hopefully Craig Tanner is on the road to recovery although it remains to be seen if he regains full fitness.

Agreed. Twitter output has deteriorated. A basic update during games would be very welcome.
