  1. Pretty much agree with that. If something doesn't work and you continue doing it, why would you expect a different outcome? Smith would appear to offer us something different up front, but its essential he and the other strikers receive decent service both in the form of crosses and pacy support. With the exception of the out of favour Jordan White, the other strikers all need to feed off a main striker. Although slightly different in style, they are fairly similar in many respects.
  2. That was part of the explanation Andy. Yes, a club has to have enough players to remain competitive. The other factor was that we released say 8 players earning £2k per week and signed 7 players earning say £1k per week saving £9k per week (I can't recall the exact figures).
  3. I assume we're talking about Killie applying for the Holyrood Government emergency loan and then saying that they're making cash available to bring in another player? I agree with Stu92 in being puzzled as to how clubs can fork out such large sums on players when they can't afford it. Their fans and shareholders should be rigorously holding them to account about this, especially those of Dundee and their neighbours, given what they've been through. With the exception of Ross County all this money will have to be paid back, however its dressed up.
  4. He will. He will have the final say (unless detailed contract discussions go badly wrong). He will tell the scouts the positions he wants to fill and the type of player he wants to fill them.

    2021 AGM

I think it was either St Johnstone or Aberdeen who mentioned this. I've no idea whatsoever whether the policy will pay out a very modest sum or a substantial amount.

    2021 AGM

I notice, from the accounts, that that the club had its claim under its Business Interruption Insurance policy accepted. Apart from the obvious title I don't know much about this provision. Other club have alsoclaimed under this provision I believe.
  7. He's suffered from burnout in past seasons but, as you say, thats not the reason this time round.

    2021 AGM

That's a great deal in my book. £12 worth of ppv per game for this season and free entry next, all for the cost of one season ticket. I'll pay for mine next season as I suspect a few others will but each to their own.

Are you saying that current season ticket holders will get next season's games free of charge? I wasn't aware of that.

    2021 AGM

The club AGM will take place on 12 February by Zoom. For the year ended May 2020 we made a profit of just under £347,000. Good news indeed.
  11. Yes, hes done well for us until recently and deserves his move, so long as he stays focused on us until then.
  12. Its all very well having talented strikers but can they play together? We do lack a quality main striker. Often you can have good players but the mix is wrong. I assume that if we sign a striker that one will leave.
  13. The pre contract agreement would be ripped up. As for a fee, how much is he worth to us in our battle to stay up? £300,00 +? Whatever the figure, if any potential buyer doesn't meet that figure then he stays. If a move seems likely in the summer and the extension clause is triggered, then I'm sure we could come to some agreement to benefit both parties, as we've done in the past with the likes of Scott MacDonald.
  14. We have the core of a decent team but badly need some fresh blood in the form of 3/4 players, assuming no-one leaves. I'd like to see another central defender and a main striker up front. However its the midfield thats badly lacking. We need someone with pace there perhaps on the wing and need a bit more power in the centre. Campbell has gone right off the boil in the last month or two and Polworth, talented though he is, is contributing little. Bringing in fresh faces is all very well of course but we also need to ship some deadwood out to balance the books. The next 2 games will tell us and the new management team a lot. Has the "envigorated" team got the bottle to go up to Aberdeen and Dingwall and avoid defeat or better still collect a win?
  15. GA mentioned this last week after the St Mirren game. He said that in such situations you look to your experienced players to drive the team out. He'll b epleased with the point , of course, but won't be pleased with aspects of the performance. We did show a bit more grit, determination and organisation today but there is still plenty for him to work on.
  16. Good result all told and we're off bottom!
  17. My thoughts too Allan. Make life more difficult for them and no silly mistakes.
  18. Central midfield need to show a bit more fight and aggression - sitting too deep as you say.
  19. We really need to defend the wings better. Too many needless crosses into the box.
  20. A good start but we still look very vulnerable in defence.
  21. So, Long is still out and MacIver has returned. I don't think we'll miss O'Hara, at least not in midfield.Midfield looks a bit powder puff and lightweight. Still, players have the chance to impress.
