  1. Guy from Lincoln is leading now.
  2. They weren't out with Gary Mackay Stephen were they?
  3. The one against Rangers was much more of a penalty to me than the one on Saturday. Didn't expect to be awarded it and in the cases against Lasley and McManus, two (or even three)wrongs don't make a right.
  4. It didn't take much spotting in the case of Irvine. He was always going to be well out of our budget and really stood out for County.
  5. I thought Beaton refereed the game pretty well in general. He played advantage well on a number of occasions for both teams and there didn't seem to be too many calls people would disagree too strongly with. Awarding the goal should really be down to the linesman. One petty one though - should the Hearts player not get booked for trying to catch the ball going over his head and out for a throw?
  6. Heneghan was offside for the initial header back across to Bowman.
  7. Yeah, disappointing that we looked to have a good number of players offside rather than just one or two decoys.
  8. They've now paused it and while the defender's feet may be on the line his body is behind it and the ball looks over. Sitting in the Cooper everyone was up celebrating assuming it was only a matter of time until the ref awarded the goal.
  9. Certainly looked over the line on alba without them pausing the footage. Waiting to see if Heneghan is offside now which Isseriously doubted at the time.
  10. The bit about teenage boys on August 14th did make it chuckle. The rest I assume only made the author laugh ss he sat writing it thinking he was oh so clever.
  11. I thought Cusack got sent off at home as well (at least once) although I'm sure he broke McPherson's nose for one of his red cards. Back on Saturday's game, I like the look of Campbell but will be surprised if he starts.
  12. Oh dear, I could have been doing without being reminded of that one. Soaked to the skin before even arriving at the ground for a 4-0 defeat. They could play some football but had so many dirty aspects to their play that made them so frustrating and annoying. Don't even get me started on John Robertson punching the ball into the net.
  13. McPherson seemed to get away with murder a lot of the time leading Cusack to finally snap and inevitably get sent off. Part of a period which has left a lasting hatred of Hearts for supporters of a certain age. Not that I bear a grudge!
  14. At least we've got the right scarf colours - go Gryffindor! Anything more than that and I'll need to ask my son.
  15. I thought sell-on clauses only worked once.
  16. Bowman surprised me with the pace he showed to make himself available for the pass on that occasion.
  17. The last few times I've seen Ross County at Fir Park Cadden has destroyed Van Der Weg at left back so when I heard he was playing I assumed he had to be playing up against him. I was disappointed to see him play in the middle and he had a poor first half. He was much better in the second half and caused problems and kept Gardyne quiet. Credit to Robinson for the half time changes but the shape could have been changed earlier without the change of personnel although credit is also due for that. Bowman looks as though he's lost a bit of weight and gained some pace with it. Good contribution from him helped swing the game our way. Definite penalty but I thought he was unlucky to get sent off as Moult playing it with his thigh had taken it wide.
  18. The footage shown on Sportscene from the referee's viewpoint behind Jack shows him moving his head quickly forward as if trying to butt the Hibs player. I can see why he was red carded and am surprised it's been rescinded. But on the other hand, I'm not - because it's Rangers.

    Irn Bru Cup

    This cup is ridiculous!
  20. I know it gets criticised but Sportscene was able to clear up a few issues that weren't clear in the highlights. I can't see how Rangers or Hearts can possibly be successful with their appeals. Similarly, I don't see us getting Carson's red rescinded.
  21. Had a look at the Yellows forum. There are widely contrasting views regarding Johnson's worth and one poster noted the thread is very similar to one on the Motherwell forum this time last year! Interesting that one poster is saying the club (Oxford) 'confirmed' the fee was closer to the £400k figure mentioned than the £650k put about and the sell-on is 10%.
  22. I'll be surprised if we're successful with Carson's appeal to be honest. Rather than showing that there was doubt about the decision I believe we have to show 100% that the referee was wrong and I don't think there is 100% proof for that. However Scott Brown was successful with his appeal last season so you never know, although perhaps I'm being a bit naive on that one.
  23. Yes, but unless the referee is very close to an incident, a lot of decisions are made by guesswork, gut feeling, intuition, call it what you like what the referee is probably not 100% sure on a lot of decisions. He's still got to make a decision though. The Sunday Herald's report says "Dunne seemed to foul Graham Cummins in the act of shooting solely through the use of some Jedi mind tricks, such was the lack of contact to the naked eye." Gave me a wee chuckle over my breakfast anyway. It also says Robinson's "entire post-match press conference had to be carefully deciphered through his incredulous laughter."
