Aye, it's generally been pitiful, including today, but you don't need to ignore the 2 or 3 great results to make that point.
-
5th it is. 2-1 United.
-
Beat them twice in a couple of months in 2013.
-
Do we need to be quite so bloody pathetic against Celtic? No taking a point all season is bad enough, but no managing a goal?

I saw him in Hamilton on Wednesday afternoon. He got out his car and looked like he was going shopping. True story.
-
And every one of them this season against Rangers, apparently.

As Alexander himself often says, it's about fine margins. No last second goal from Lamie, no top 6, no Europe. Highlights how close it's been between relative success and relative failure this season. I think the football's been utterly stinking to watch, but total credit to everyone involved, they got us there in the end, so the manager deserves another go. My expectations for next season would be staying up, a general improvement in the ability levels within a sleeker squad and hopefully a decent run in one of the cups. More than that would be a bonus. As for anyone saying they want us to get beat, whatever their supposed justification, they were never a fan in the first place.
-
Well done to all the players and staff for getting us into Europe. Still brutal to watch - especially when van Veen's not there to play something resembling football - but they've done exactly what was needed in the last two matches. Whatever I think about Graham Alexander's tactics, he does manage to dig out those results. Just hope he's got his eyes on a few decent players for next season.

You're awfy cruel. I like it.
-
Part one, done today. Part two, wins for us & the uglies on Wednesday. Part three, a win for Ross County on Saturday & who gives a toss for us.
-
If we beat Hearts we'll be fine - unless County beat Rangers.
-
Get ready for a dodgy Ross County penalty.
-
Ojala's legs have gone, so he plays with his arms now.
-
Must win today. Doesn't matter who or how.

They were in the market for a new house, couldn't find one they liked/could afford, so bought a couple of hats in case it rained. With those huge swings since the New Year, if we finish 6th and miss out on Europe, will that still be considered success? Better than we might've hoped for at the start of the season, but it feels a bit like getting to a cup final, then losing to Morton.
-
How far from adequately did we replace him? We were 13 points ahead of Ross County prior to our meeting in January, and 6 ahead of Dundee Utd at the same point. How did those 14 & 10 point swings come about?
-
True. We're also one defeat - against County - away from our season being finished, cos there's no way we're taking those 6 points from the last 2 games. A draw just about keeps us in it, but we have to take the chance ourselves and stop relying on others to hand it to us. I'd rather we lost on Saturday while really going for it, than playing the percentages and hoping.

Depends on who the manager is and how many bad pennies there are.

You'd struggle to get a fag paper between the opinions of our Facebook supporters club regarding Alexander. Pretty much of one mind now.

Aye, a wee cup run. 2 wins. I think everybody would agree most other teams have been shite, but 'we're shite too' isn't the strongest defence I've ever heard for a manager. He saved us last season and we had a good first half of the season, results wise. Since then, utter garbage, in every respect. We can moan about our luck yesterday, but in all honesty, other results have kept us where we are more than anything we've done this year. I'm interested in next season now - Alexander's team selections and tactics don't convince me he's planning on changing our style of play. Ok. But if the spectacle doesn't matter, just the results, our current run can't just be written off as meaningless.
-
I can see the box he's ticked, but not the boxes (unless we make Europe). Other than making the top 6, what do you consider his successes to be?
-
I don't see it either. For the sake of the club, someone has to be looking not only at what's been achieved, but how it's been achieved, and more importantly, where we're headed next. If they're happy everything's going according to plan, fair enough, but it's clearly not an opinion shared by most fans at the moment.
-
So we've been playing appalling, inconsistent football, and won a single league game this year (picking up 9 points from 45) against equally appalling teams, but Alexander's more than earned another go?
-
If they've lumbered us with a manager we can't afford to get rid of - no matter what - their hands should be cuffed, not tied. But I don't believe that can actually be the case. To casual observers, Alexander getting us into the top 6 makes it look like they've absolutely no decision to make, but anyone watching this stuff, week in/week out, knows that shouldn't be the case. I'm sure it's already been decided, though.
