  1. Good to see our forward options increasing
  2. You know I checked after I typed this and saw it was Howie, I forgot all about him. He was another bad McLeish buy.
  3. Jeez, I was at that game. I’m pretty sure we scored first that day? F@@ing freezing cold and a horrific game. I’m sure Stevie woods chucked in a few that day too.
  4. Paul Kinnaird was an absolute loonball 🤣 I think he was drummed out of fir park as he owed everyone money due to gambling debts. Peem weir is Jim Weir (not the Accies guy) Tommy signed him from a German 3rd division team and then fired him straight into a game v rangers and he was horrific. I’m sure he now drives taxis in lesmahagow? I may be wrong with that tho?
  5. Wee Tommy’s teams up until Bobby Russell arrived was utter torture to watch, he’d never have survived any more than a season these days. He bought some utter dross as well mostly cast offs from his brother lol Gardiner, Murray, John Reilly…Peem Weir… I could list about 20 to be fair. There were some right hummers.
  6. I always felt McLeish was a lucky manager. He took on an excellent side from McLean and made them better for one season. I think the players did better in this season as they were a bit more relaxed as wee Tommy was a tyrant. He then made a few duff signings and seemed to lose any respect he had from the players in the first season. He was such a media darling tho and got away with murder.
  7. County’s club record transfer is £500k for Boyce. They’ll not get any more than that for him.
  8. I liked wee McCall as well, a really decent guy and a good manager for us but I have no doubt he’d have got us relegated if he was in charge of us in the play off games. He had a real fear of playing Rangers, the way he put out his sides against them was a disgrace actually. Not that I am saying he was Rangers minded when he was our manager but he did have a real fear factor about them. Baraclough for all his faults went into those games really attack minded and went for them. I’ll always think favourably about him.
  9. Davie Hay, his side was what really took me from being a young Motherwell fan who liked going to fir park to one who loved going to fir park. His team was attacking and full of flair. I remember being devastated when he left. worst? We’ve had a lot? Malpas is up there, Watson was only temp so he doesn’t really count but was awful. Jock Wallace was awful but undoubtedly a good manager in his time. Sadly Hammell wasn’t very good. But I’ll stick with Malpas, awful manager and the most depressingly dull guy we’ve ever employed.
  10. I always think of Griffin in midfield? He was midfield in the final?
  11. I have to say, the way Lennon has left the club absolutely oozes class. He’s made a wee video message, put stuff out there on social media and I now see his family have added stuff to social media too thanking the club and fans etc for everything. When you see how some others have left, not so much us but other “provincial” teams, it’s a breath of fresh air. Should be held as an example to others how to leave a club….. the £4.75m does help as well right enough 🤣
  12. Good luck to the lad, I hope he goes over there and becomes a star. It’ll be a tough one for him to start with no doubt but I think he’ll get there, he has a good work ethic and seems a grounded lad. it’s great to see us sell a player to Seria A, it raises the club’s profile there and also here for any young players looking to be associated to a club that promotes giving youth a chance. £4.5m - take a bow young man
  13. I think 90% of his games were at right back but I do have a memory of him playing in a sort of sweeper role from time to time. He was an excellent player, hard as nails and very good on the ball.
  14. £500k on players and then just blow the rest on scratch cards
  15. Same could be said for McLair, who has been omitted from all our dream teams. Probably won more than Gary Mac. He won a lot of titles at both Celtic and Man Utd, euro trophies and FA and league cups. I suppose he started at Aston Villa but was only there a few months before joining our youth set up. a wee but like McAllister though that they both showed great potential at us but developed into top players on leaving. McAllister did have 5yrs at Leicester in the lower league prior to flourishing at Leeds.
  16. It’s a shame as he’s been a great player to watch and see him develop into a class young player but I now want him to get out asap to raise some funds to help the manager recruit a few new players. so……selfishly…. Thanks Lennon, the very best to you young man and I look forward to seeing you rise to the top….but please fk off soon 🤣
  17. On another player not being played, what’s the script with Halliday? Not that I am crying myself to sleep about it but does JBA not fancy him much? Weird considering his ever presence last year. maybe he’s going to concentrate more on his media stuff as I see he was also commenting at greyskull for their European tie. That and his podcast etc etc must take up a lot of time. i suppose we have better players in his position now which is fair enough but he’s not been brought on the past couple of games.
  18. But but but but Tam Cowan said he’d signed with another side last week🤣
  19. I actually think this will be a really tough one, St Johnstone have started incredibly well and look a decent side. Hard one to call.
  20. Yeah, ramblings of a bewildered OAP. I was waiting for some comments from him about how if we were an independent country that we’d lose all our pensions.
  21. I’m glad Archie McPherson is only commenting for one week on sportscene, it’s a brutal listen. It’s like sitting next to one of the old codgers in the main stand.
  22. It’s a point at a place that will be very difficult for any footballing team to go to. An absolute abomination of a team, I couldn’t watch that every week, they are even worse to watch than a Kettlewell team. we did ok, considering the constant fouls but there’s room for improvement in the final third. Ward, Odonnell, Mcginn did well.
  23. If this prison 11 get anything from this game it would be criminal. Horrible team and support
  24. Not wishing to tempt fate but ODonnell has done well today.
  25. We’ve reverted to what they are doing and lumping it up the park. We need to get it together.
