As much as I despise Celtic I’m happy with that. If St.Mirren had won today they would have been all but guaranteed to win the Scottish Cup and the mere thought of them doing a Cup double would have been utterly sickening. I genuinely think I would have chucked football altogether if that had happened but thankfully it won’t now. Only good thing about Celtic winning for me is 5th is guaranteed Europe should they win it Much better to finish 4th of course and hopefully will do

Campbell been lost for quite some time, unfortunately. His form dropped off a cliff and he's struggled to regain it.
wellsince75
re Campbell. In last couple of seasons he's parachuted in mid season. I don't think he had pre season or game time in either of those seasons prior to joining Utd or StMirren. Under those circumstances very difficult to hit the ground running due to lack of game time etc. If we were to lose Watt or Fadigner at end of season I wouldn't be against having him back at FP. With a full pre season behind him I think he'd do a decent job and some of the ugly work we've been missing. Re former Motherwell boys I was thinking similar of DT back at FP. Assuming we sell Just/Slattery moving on having someone of DTs style would fit nicely.

I believe he wants to return at some point
weeyin
If you believe the man himself, the reason Campbell parachuted in this mid-season is because he had multiple offers from England and Europe over the summer, but wanted to wait for the right one. Rather than join, say, a Scottish Championship side to get some match fitness at the start of the season, he opted for no game time. I like the guy, but something has gone seriously wrong and if Robbo couldn't help him at St Mirren he is a very long way from returning to form.
bobbybingo
You wonder what's next for Turnbull. If he's only been getting 20 or 30 mins most weeks in League 1, will stepping up to the Championship do for him what Luton being promoted to the Premiership did for Campbell? joewarkfanclub
I love Wee Al, but regardless of his fitness, he doesnt fit our signing model any more. We want younger guys we can develop and sell on for a profit. Given he has already been away and done that, I dont think thats happening for him again. I guess you could argue that he would fit the McGinn / O'Donnell mould of experienced guys who get the club, but both of them are gonna be here next season. Do we really need another one?
Yassin
I think Campbell would stick out like a sore thumb technically in our midfield tbh. We've already got Sparrow- who I really like- as a fairly limited midfielder in comparison to the others, but he's at least versatile and offers an outball. Do we really need another one? poor Al - he's only 27 so quite a few years behind the older pros. For me it depends on what happens with others and whether they come or go. Re Turnbull can't help but think he'd fit like a glove and who knows the call of playing attractive football , getting a game every week could be enough to persuade him. Anyway this is what happens when there's lack of games, too much day dreaming.
MJC
I’d like to think we are well past this recruitment mentality of re-signing ex players simply because they are ex players and did a job for us years ago. I hope and indeed think that Jens isn’t the type of manager who would go down that lazy route too. As has already been said Allan Campbell wouldn’t fit into our current system and all he would be is deadwood like Nicholson, McGhee etc. And I say that as someone who really liked Campbell when he was with us but his time with us has come and long gone and we shouldn’t be looking backwards. Spit_It_Out
Campbell has came and went sadly the being dropped from Luton after being a major part of them getting up has proved to have played not kindly with him its been a downward spiral ever since and coming back won't help him or help us. All seriousness Campbell was fantastic for us but come on lets think bigger than this what next Tony Watt back?.
