Another game passes that we have yet again lost by the odd goal that was our own doing,we seem totally incapable of learning from previous mistakes.the decision to start shields who we are actively trying to get rid of was mind boggling.we can bring in all the players we want,it will make no difference unless we change to a manager that has some clue what he's doing.

It doesn't matter who the manager is, the tone here is that the players are useless, so at this late date in January, how will that help any manager, Hammell or not?. We have a structural management problem, and with Burrows going it will now clearly lie with the board and the society. The villains are those who signed all the dross you all hate, so the issue is more fundamental than the manager.

It absolutely does matter who the manager is as shown in the past when we’ve changed managers. Hammel has signed how many players now ? Are we any better ? This simply can’t continue, the club is sleepwalking into relegation.

The question is, at this moment in time, do we do something in an attempt to save ourselves, or do we do nothing? If it's the former, there's only one course of action.

If we hadn't wasted money on levelling the pitch we would have more to spend on players.

It's like talking to Grandpa Simpson with you, last post was a million pounds on VAR, Lamie being denied a penalty and now its the pitch being blamed for us being shite 🤦‍♂️

Hammell picked Shields today despite his recent performances where he has looked completely disinterested. No one forced him to do that.

Hammell selected him to start. Its not the lad's fault as he's doing the best he can, although his confidence is very low.  Hammell had a couple of other options which he chose not to go with. Don't blame Shields.

Wasn’t at the game today and never watched it online, but the result and performance surely isn’t a shock to anyone who watches us or knows anything about football. Let’s be clear we were terrible last week and just beat one of the worst teams on the championship . The football on show was rotten and the couple of new additions were just that tiny bit less rotten than the rest of our squad on the day. Nothing changed last week and of course the same league form was going to continue with that muppet in charge . He’s out his depth . His team talk they showed up there was laughable and more suited to an amateur league.

Bottom of the league , rotten to the core with endless jobs for the boys appointments at every level which have been marshalled by burrows and the board . A bowling club board with a pub team manager - that is why we are bottom of the league . Change the manager and there’s a small glimmer we might finish 11th. Maintain the status quo and we are relegated. The only thing for sure is a large proportion of our support still won’t lay any blame at burrows or Hammells door and will continue with their welcome to our great little club, we are punching above our weight and it’s a rollercoaster patter.

Hammells record is a disgrace and the stats  back my statement up. Get him and his assistant out. A club playing legend maybe but an absolute managerial failure.

just how can he still think we don’t need a midfielder who can tackle and stick with the same 3 again today

100% Yorky. Bringing in new players won't improve matters that much if they're not being properly coached and managed.

Exactly the bucks stops with hammell, shields should never have started on the back of recent performances then add in the fact we're hoping to have him out the door before tuesday, just bizarre stuff all round.

What a frustrating afternoon (again). We were really poor (again), but we passed the ball better than them and to be honest, remarkably created more chances, despite how poor we were. Not sure who was at fault for the goal but a few on the left side of our defence seemed to switch off

A few things need to happen (not happen) after today. McGinn should not play left back, did well last week but was very poor today. Shields shouldn’t be seen again as he’s just not good enough, despite the effort he puts in. The midfield 3 of Slattery, Goss and Spittal just does not work in this league! Finally Van Veen needs a rocket up his arse, no doubt when he’s on his game he’s our best player, but my god watching him would make you want to put your fist through a wall!!

No getting away from the fact that we are dire but yet other teams are not totally outplaying us. Gifting goals and not able to score are killing us. Hammy has to fix at least one of those issues ASAP. Earlier on in the season we played some nice football and we’re creating lots of chances but now that seems to have gone and the chances are not as frequent any more so we have regressed from what seemed like some early promise. Maybe the new forward who was missing today along with the Japanese guy will help turn things around but we can’t continue with Slattery Goss and Spittal as our midfield and KVV strolling around on his own up top. He either needs some help or someone to replace him that’s going to put the work in.

Absolutely no inspiration from Steven Hammell . Starting with his bored stiff interviews looking clueless, then his team selection same guff every week,  he must be due to give some of the under achievers a rocket up the arse . I don’t think he has the experience or bottle to do it. Doesn’t even get excited or animated on the touchline during the game, that’s passed on to the team , he out his depth.

There is not one leader within that team on the park, and that’s Hammell’s fault.
Captain being the goalie is a joke. Oh for a Craigen or Lasley or Campbell character that knows what Motherwell and Scottish football is about in the team.

There is no one with any character in the team to push us forward.

I agree that the goalkeeper being captain doesn’t sit right, but there isn’t anyone else at the club who fits the bill as a captain or leader. SO’D had the armband previously and was stripped of it so who do you give it to? For me the best option is Lamie and even that is scraping the barrel because he doesn’t show much in the way of leadership qualities.

Be careful telling the truth about KVV, ie he's the laziest player I've seen in years gets you shouted at by some on here.

It was officially very disappointing again.

Poor guy.

It’s a hard watch seeing him repeat the same things just about every week. He has undoubtedly had bad luck with injuries but he is looking increasing out of his depth with each passing poor performance/result.

It’s hard to see this ending anything other than badly.

I agree, but unlike Alexander who is hugely responsible for the mess we are currently in, Steven Hammell doesn’t have the pig faced arrogance to try and tell the support that black is white and that we are playing well when we clearly aren’t. Obviously him being a club legend and much loved by the support helps Hammell’s cause too.

The sad reality is though that Stevie Hammell just looks like a thoroughly decent guy who is miles out of his depth.
