El Grew
It’s been alleged that “abuse” was directed at Kettlewell during our home game against Aberdeen which upset members of his family. I assume they would’ve been seated in the main stand when this happened so that begs the question as to what the security/stewards did about it? It’s more likely than not that the perpetrators are season ticket holders so it should’ve been a simple matter of having them escorted them from their seats, taking their details and then have the club write to them with letters of rebuke with a warning as to their future conduct.

I think you're confusing our stewards with competent professionals.

Spiderpig
3 hours ago, wellgirl said: To be fair speaking as someone who used to steward it can be a very tough job and there often aren't enough stewards to see all that's going on. When Spittal was abused last season the fan was escorted from the ground but no ones details were taken by the stewards. The fan was just ejected Most stewards aren't club employees either - it's not an easy job and it's not well paid either in a lot of cases. It's irrelevant how much you are being paid if you are employed to look after the saftey of the paying public you should do your job what ever that remit is. From what I've seen the stewards at Fir park are not interested they don't give a shit and I would hate to see how they respond if a genuine emergency occurred. You are talking about responding to a hypothetical situation, I.e ketts taking abuse , so can't really say how they should or should have responded. Also you would need to see the job description for stewards to see what is expected...I wouldn't fancy herding numbnuts like green brigade about. I would think a fairly basic component of their job description would be to ensure every fan was in their allocated seat, stairways and exits not blocked etc all the stuff they seem to forget when the green uglies are in town. These are basic saftey issues which Motherwell would be held liable for in the event of an incident.

I don't go to the celtic games so can't comment but I wouldn't want to be telling them to sit down etc for minimum wage...don't think it's the stewards at fault , its more cost cutting and having less police at games who have far greater powers....even the police struggle with every move being filmed by some clowns.

He quoted our games won , terrible posetion stats just in general everything he said last week after st j except he had time to tidy it up also said SK was basically not doing himself any favours by ranting at refs etc then mentioned bout him getting on the wrong side of the fans also said he spent 19 years of his adult life at FP and had his fair share of “abuse / slaggings “ but said no worse than at any other club also put the bit in about our family run club Just all general stuff but stressing that it wasnt even a minority it was a cluster ( or other words to that effect ) of fans with abuse it was a good 3/4 minutes worth probs get it on bbc whatever it is 👍

I think the poster on twitter was referencing the fact that the statement from the club didn't differentiate between a small minority and where they were located and "the fans" as a whole so in effect tarring us all with the same brush. That is my take on it.
wellon
17 hours ago, wellgirl said: I gave up stewarding because I was battered at a Celtic Man City game - because when people are fighting and you have your SIA badge you have to try and break up fights.. Had similar issues at Celtic Park when fans were fighting themselves. There are good and bad stewards I'm sure but I don't think every steward at Fir Park doesn't give a shit - I certainly did the job to the best of my abilities when I worked at Fir Park and every other ground It is a hard job on a lot of levels -and when I did it we had to do time before and after the shift unpaid too - thankfully I think that's changed now. Just as an add on , I know someone who did it and they were bussed from Glasgow to Edinburgh for a gig ... unpaid

Clackscat
Was at a physio appt today and in between the sadistic sod torturing me, we did discuss the SK situation. When I talked about the irony of the abuse allegations given SK's interactions with match officials he said that was nothing new, when he was a physio with a youth team, they played Motherwell and Ketts was constantly berating the officials. Said his behaviour was completely unacceptable. 1

I couldn't care to be honest, no excuse for the clowns shouting at him but I think he has taken us for a ride, just my opinion. Wonder how the families of the 4th officials felt when SK was abusing them

Same here, bored with it but I have also constantly condemned the clowns that were shouting abuse at him

I was talking to a Celtic fan and here's why it happens. The green brigade arrive on mass and all sit together irrespective of seat numbers. Some then like to sit beside them, some the polar opposite. This leads to absolutely no one sitting in their correct seats and the problem that we see. Really up to Celtic board to sort that out - but I doubt we will see that anytime soon
