Single options for each question is frustrating as. I use multiple methods to get news, access the club website etc...

"Did you know your season ticket gets you discounted hospitality?" No, because I don't have one.

The phrasing and writing of some of these questions... 🤦‍♂️

I'm all for fan engagement but good grief, it's not difficult to proof read these things and get the basics correct.

100% agree. I began filing in the questions but then gave up. A missed opportunity from the club to gain some much needed information. My biggest grouse was the single option questions. Also there should have been "don't know/have an opinion" options.

It was also a bit woke and to some extent a box ticking exercise. I found the ethnic question impossible to answer as there was no option to simply tick British, although there were other Britsh options.  - and thats not making a political point, its true in my case. I simply don't understand why religion was included as we've always been a non denominational club and I hope we stay that way. 

A poorly put together survey, I'm sorry to say.

Aye, I had a proper rant about the absolute shite our socials have been putting out recently. Like, if you're going to do a post about last July at the start of the transfer window, don't have a photograph of Conor Wilkinson when he signed as the first bloody thumbnail. Amateurish stuff.

How different is that from standing across the road and buying a ticket online, then crossing the road and scanning in?

Plenty of older folk don’t have a pc or laptop and have no idea how to buy stuff online or register on a website to get tickets.

if they want to go to a game they need to queue up to buy a ticket an hour before the game and then queue again to get in. A lot just don’t like all the hassle and get embarrassed when folk question why they can’t buy a ticket online.

The one thing that the majority of people want to hear from the club right now is news of signings. That much is evident from the Ins and Outs Discussion on here. Having a photograph of someone who looks like they've been signed (and more pertinently, someone who signed and within 6 months explicitly stated that he didn't want to be here/didn't fancy it) as the leading image on a post people are most likely going to see whilst doom-scrolling is a sure-fire way to generate clicks, but it's also going to rile people up/irritate them.

If it's a recap of July, show pre-season first, or show league cup action, whatever. The timing of it is just off for me.

A senior season ticket is 235 quid I believe. And surely that would be easier to buy in one transaction than struggle to buy tickets every week. There is obviously an argument for a cash gate but I don't see that changing. 

 

 

Half the stadium is empty every week, I think they are missing out on a lot of business and people who at the last minute cant go because it’s too late to buy a ticket online.

also £235 isn’t a drop in the ocean to a lot of old Well fans on a pension.

A lot of older folk do struggle with online transactions. However, if clubs are going down this inevitable road then they have to make it easier for folk to complete their purchases. We have cases of scanners not working properly. There's also no excuse for clumsy confusing sites.... are you reading this Livingston FC?

Well said. I just don't get this recent communication release. This particular one irritated me no end. The timing is terrible as you say.

It is but where's the fun in that? Ranting on the internet about it is far more cathartic than ignoring it. Particularly for a club who prides themselves on the standards of their #content and #socials

I've just had another look at the survey and I really do think the results will be of very limited use indeed and perhaps even be misleading. A few examples:

Many of the multi option questions are inadvertently worded so as to be not mutually exclusive eg disabilities.

There isn't any question on where the participant lives or their postcode sector (I know we have to be careful about data protection issues).  If the club wants to know how fans travel to home games then its essential to relate their answers to where they live, or at least their distance from Fir Park. 

The question on catering: are the food options tasty? They might well be but a fan might not like them. For example, I know that a spicy food will be tasty but I don't like/can't take spicy foods.

Availability of parking: will those who don't drive know? Does this only relate to club parking or does it relate to general street parking as well?

The idea of the survey is good but I think its needs to be changed and relaunched. There's little to be gained from expending a lot of time and effort to lift results and draw conclusions from unreliabale data.

True enough, we all love a moan. In fairness to them, the goalkeeper post isn't a million miles from the long discussions on here regarding Kelly's replacement, which brought up the gloved ghosts of seasons past.

100% agree, when a player leaves Motherwell I don't care where they are now or how well or badly their career has went. The random media posts look like someone creating content just for the sake of it, nobody gives a shit what happened years ago. We want up to date info on how the club is doing on field and off, the alleged new investment, new player signings etc etc.

I mostly don't either, but the Former Motherwell Players thread generates enough posts to suggest other people do. Likewise, a number of fans seem to follow ex-players on Twitter (X).

To be honest, if it's too annoying or to have to scroll past one tweet, then maybe Twitter/X isn't for you.

Of course posts this time of year are mostly filler, because there is little activity anywhere apart from pitch remediation and players being on holiday.

Yeah, I do a cull every now and then; as I rarely remember to unfollow them until I see a post from them at a new club or something.

The only thing on X I follow or contribute to is Motherwell FC, plus the posts are not annoying, well not as annoying as your occasional patronising posts,  but they are irrelevant to the majority of fans.

All we ask for is if the media team are putting  content out there, make it relevant.

I quite enjoy some of the old random posts so while it was nice of you to speak for everyone, I’ll have to continue enjoying the old random posts but your last paragraph I’ll agree with so I can enjoy both.

With them asking about programmes I hope we’re not thinking of doing away with them I collect them and have done for a long time and I genuinely enjoy the articles during half time. Do wish we used better materials though even if I have to pay a little more
