We'd have been in a lose 4, win 2, draw 1 cycle for the remainder of the season with half the points picked up due to late goals. 8th or 9th, sure, but we didn't have the rabbit in the headlights look that the relegated teams have. Livi at the end of last season was a perfect example.

We were lucky if we created one chance a game and SK was never going to change that style, so I guess we will need to agree to differ , but immaterial now. Stuwell2
Does Casey get an assist today? If so 2 goals and an assist in the last two matches - well done Dan.

Livi at the end of last season was a perfect example. Have to disagree. We were in total freefall with confidence shot. SK had had plenty of opportunities to change things up but either would not or could not. Those last 5 away matches were poorer than anything I can remember in years. Even the better players looked at a loss. It was that refusal to adapt that convinced me we were headed for the play off spot at best. And then it's a lottery. Just compare our approach today with our approach in the Semi Final. What Wimmer has brought out tactically and energy wise on the pitch coupled with the raised spirit in the Stands in his three matches only highlights what SK was unable to achieve. The support the fans gave the team when Dundee equalised was highlighted by both Manager and players. Early days and we need to remember that. But what a difference. The players certainly appear to appreciate the change.

BF's "success" there, Kelty Hearts and Alloa suggest he is not the man for the job at Ibrox in the long term. Think we could be on to a winner with Wimmer. I notice none of our great Scottish churnalists and presstitutes seem aware of Wimmer's pedigree or noticed his potential. Barry Ferguson is a Fud. Can't string 2 words together and lives on his past glories. Will never be a good manager in a million years. Plus my mate gave him a doing in Hamilton one night when he insulted his wife.

weeyin
With Miller, Slattery fully fit again and AP on the way back, I don't think we'd have been relegated, regardless of who was in the gaffer's seat. But irrelevant now, unless we lose the next 5 on the bounce.

By playing to their strengths even if that means adopting a different approach at times. SK showed no intention of doing that even before LM and AP were injured. So I do not believe he would have done anything different when they returned. We can agree to differ. Anyway, irrelevant now as you say. Thankfully we have someone new at the helm so we get back to enjoying days like today. Well done to all involved and thanks for that. Best game day I have had this season. I was a huge Kettlewell fan as most people know and even if people are cheesed off still with his interviews he did the right thing for him and the club I do think we would have struggled. Because it wasn't working for Sk It matters because of the way he left and the narrative he tried to create. I stayed with him to the end and would have been happy for his legacy to be one of a half decent Motherwell manager who eventually ran out of ideas. He changed that. No one else. For that reason, I dont want to leave him any way to justify himself. He shat it. The players are proving it now.

Kmcalpin
I honestly think that SK simply ran out of ideas and it was time for him to part ways with our club. He showed no signs of being able to change things and was not getting the best out of the squad. Thats quite apart from a dearth of entertainment. From reading comments on the AGM, I suspect he was given some kind of pay off, but thats pure speculation on my part. We've now moved on and our immediate on field future is looking somewhat brighter. Long may it continue.

I've spent so many years buying season tickets when I've been poor. It would just be great to have a season where we weren't worrying This is not a criticism of anyone. Not an equal league either Wev just skelped Rangers at Ibrox..... cheer up! 😁
Big Stall
Absolutley superb result today. Great to build on the positive start Wimmer has had & 6 points i 4 days - yeeha! Rangers supporting mates who were there said we pressed high & they had no answer to it. Keep it up, what a change in fortunes, attitude & enjoyment. No reason to keep talking about the last guy, long live the new king
Kmcalpin
16 minutes ago, wellgirl said: He would not be due any pay off if he quit. You'd think not. Don't really want to go on about yesterday's man, but Brian Caldwell refused to answer a question about this at the AGM. I think that MW has now made his mark and is winning over the fans and probably the players after this result and performance. Not all of our managers can say they've won at Ibrox and this is only his 3rd game in charge.

wellfan
What a difference it makes not having an incompetent over-promoted ballon as manager. Yesterday was sensational and, without diminishing the excellent effort of the players, it was solely down to having a manager with sound tactical ability. 1
