Fergie79
Wimmer has said he has had to make a lot of compromises this season and been pretty clear he expects to play without compromise at start of next season....so reckon highly unlikely much more of out of contract or loan players will be here next season unless Wimmer has problems persuading his initial targets to come here. MelvinBragg
I expect to see Tony Watt at Fir Park next season, Armstrong not so sure. The rest of the loan players, I think we've seen the last of...
joewarkfanclub
On last nights evidence I would be trying to secure Seddon again next season. He is probably the best LB, LWB and LCB at the club and has looked pretty decent in all of those positions. Add into the fact that it has been a problem position for us and he seems like a pretty good sort to have around the place, it seems a no brainer to me. Only issue I would have would be his fitness as he hasnt been available to play much this season. However, I dont recall their being any issues with injuries previously, so maybe he was just a victim of the SK Hex!

If Tony Watt is with us on a 1 year contract with an option of a further year I shall weep a river of tears that's throwing money down the toilet that could be used to bring in someone that will actually be useful on a weekly basis. Sorry we have retained enough it's now time to use resources on some fresh faces.

He's contracted to Carlisle until end of 2027 season Lets hope he's got a relegation release clause

I know that but he is out of contract soon enough he has been beating the Motherwell have first dibs drum it's a no value in it transfer. Would rather we sign an Armstrong esk I seen more from him last night than I have seen from Watt all season. Armstrong or Armstrong like player and Stam forward pairing actually has me excited for next season think it might work.

Tony Watt is not the player was before and I'd thank him for his services but thats it.
Big Wispy Flossy
In my opinion we shouldn’t be signing anyone current at the club and not contracted for next season. We already have a first team squad numbers wise signed up and that many deficiencies the manager will need budget to bring at least 4 players who will improve the starting line up. None of the uncontracted players do that for me
David
I’d like to believe the manager isn’t making decisions off the back of one good game, or even a handful. It should be more about whether a player suits the style he’s building.
weeyin
I see Lewis Ferguson captained Bologna to their Coppa Italia victory last night. Combine that with Max Johnston being a regular starter for a Sturm Graz side that looks odds on to win another League title, and McTominay and Gilmour with the (very slight) edge in the Serie A title chase, I can only hope Miller takes that as inspiration for a move abroad.
wellsince75
re Armstrong and Watt - personal view is neither should be retained. Watt now older than 30, good creative player who's not a natural striker. I don't see him fitting in our current style of play. Armstrong couldn't get a game for Carlisle - they want rid of him irrespective of struggling themselves to score and subsequently relegated from Division 2. A 29 year old target man who's likely to chip in with less than 10 goals per season (assuming plays all games) We need pace up front or an absolute predator who'll bang in goals , I'd rather we saved the cash. found a younger prospect or a decent loanee. weeyin
I'm not saying we should re-sign them, but the club not wanting a player isn't always a negative. Mika Biereth is one good example - punted by an Arsenal side struggling to find a centre forward
Spit_It_Out
I honestly think Stam is going to come good for us and prove his worth next season. I am predicting 15 plus goals from him next next season and Slattery at least 10 offt it's going to be sensational.

We have seen what can happen when when you take a punt on a player, Higdon, and Bair being two good examples, so why not Armstrong, 4 goals already from limited game time, why he could not get a game for Carlisle is irrelevant. Its what he has done already and potentially could do for Motherwell that's important.
Richie
Goals aside, Armstrong's hold up play for Slattery's goal last night was tremendous.

Add to that the likes of Sutton. FWIW I think Bair had a purple patch, I'm not sold he'd have continued the form but fair play for what he did. For me I just don't see a goal return beyond 1:4 games for Armstrong. He's coming towards 30 years old, been with several clubs around the 2nd division and National League and generally chipped in with a goal every 3-4 games. Pretty similar stats in his limited time here. Can see why people want him to sign, big hard working lad but for me personally I'd pass. Jonesy
Hopefully we have a wee word in Ronan Hale's ear on Sunday to join us if County go down. It wouldn't be terrible if we could get Noah Chilvers from them as well

Big Stall
We struggle to score goals, why anyone would think its a good idea to re-sign multiple non scoring strikers from this team is beyond me. Armstrong - given his mobility there is an argunment he could fit into wimmers preffered pressing system. Watt...... the guy has ability but shows it once in 20 games. Theres a reason he has had so many clubs & he's barely made an impression this season with exception of one game. Hopefully Wimmer has re-signed enough to give us stability next year & he clears the decks of the rest of the dross.
weeyin
A big question is will AP stay fit and how many goals will a fit AP score? (That's really 2 questions, but I can't be bothered editing it).

Carlisle like us, usually, played one up top and Armstrong struggled. But they said he did much better on the times when they played two up. Queue - two goals up front last night as part of a two. Play him through middle and give him service
