He played 31 games in his first season and 29 in his second. To be fair as well the ACL injury was a freak one. He's had no other injuries since signing for us as far as I'm aware.

Thanks for stating the facts. And that appearance record includes a spell when the then Manager opted to leave him out, even when fit. The ACL injury is something interested Clubs will keep an eye on though so I guess January will be the window for offers if he is a regular until then.

Am sure my mum taught beside Davie Whiteford at Garrion. (she did, just asked her). She taught beside Roger Hynd at Garrion too.

What did she teach?  That was my time at school. I would understand if you can’t share the name.

The point re Slattery is he's one of the few players whom another club would pay a fee for.  Current position (excl Miller) we don't have too many of those.

I'm sure we'd all prefer he stay. The point for me is all Motherwell players will have price tag and should we be offered the right money we would sell.  As we did for KVV, Bair and many that came before them, as long as we the price was right.  In recent years we've been so much better in not giving it away.

The huge positive in all of this is we stood by the player during his injury and in turn he signed another contract.  Add to that he's been on top form and attracted this type of discussion.  What a difference playing in a more forward position, he's gone from the most booked player to potential top scorer.

I feel for him, and can’t help but think he’s been badly advised by his agent. He’s certainly earning a fortune but his career has declined, I just hope Cardiff move him on as they will not be able to afford his wages and he can kick start his career again as he’s a young guy still.
for me he’s perfectly suited to German, French or Italian football.

In my opinion he’s still probably the most technically gifted young player I’ve seen break through at Motherwell. I considered him better than the likes of Gary Mac and Phil.

I think Turnbull and Campbell were a bit of a double act like Pettigrew and Graham.  They just weren't as good as solo artists

That's just ridiculous. It's been a poor season for them of course but he kept them up for two years, which isn't at all easy.

That's crazy - hadn't seen news of that.

I might be in the minority but I thought he was doing a good job, he’s signed some decent players and they play quite an attacking style. They also lost MCcowan and Cameron went a bit off form and they were victims of some shocking decisions but at no point did I think they’d go down. If anything I was surprised they didn’t make the top 6.

not unless there’s an underhand thing going in with him going to hearts with his old mate.

Agreed - they played some decent stuff this season and were let down by some ropy defending. If someone sorts out that defence over the summer they'd be well in the mix for a top 6.

Absolutely no surprise. He knew it was coming, given his very public outbursts in recent weeks.

They are a basket case of a club with ideas above their station.
