That's true, but the new manager's brief should also include "mutualling" any contracts for players he doesn't want.

Agreed. That would give our new manager more leeway to bring in his own men. Plenty of scope to mutual permacrocks. The only player on the "undetermined list" I'd consider keeping would be Seddon and then its 50/50.

As an aside the transfer window opens on Thursday. Apologies if everyone knows that.

I only concern myself with motherwell fc , but I'll let you check his history and report back.

One minor hamstring injury is all, therefore not "made of chocolate". I sincerely hope that you are not involved in recruitment in your job.

Fair enough , but as I said I only concern myself with motherwell fc where he only played 10 times last season , which was a pity as he is a very good player. Oh and just to let you know I was very successful in my chosen field before I retired and indeed part of that was recruitment.

Don't think Millers performance for Scotland will have done his price tag any harm. Shall we start the game of "much we gettin?" bingo before the 'undisclosed fee' is inevitably announced.

I will start the bidding at £5 mill plus addons.

Did you do a thorough check back to his primary school days, he's bound to have had more than one minor injury.

If you want to go requesting information about pre-teen & teenage boys, then be my guest. Not my scene at all.

According to The Record:

"Sunderland 'preparing' £10m Lennon Miller bid as Black Cats 'quietly confident' of landing Motherwell ace"

Great money, but not the team for Lennon if he wants to play Champions League football. More likely to be struggling to avoid relegation.

But is it a stepping stone for him with add ons coming our way in the future? Maybe, Maybe not or probably not.

Playing in the English premiership might be something he wants, not that many homegrown Scottish players get the chance these days.

It can certainly be a stepping stone - Liam Delap just got a big move from Ipswich to Chelsea after their recent insta-relegation.

I just saw him going to a title contender in a European league. Although Sunderland has the potential to be successful if they can make it past the first season in the top flight.

10mill would be some fee though.

Ideally, we'd like him to go somewhere where he'll get sold on fairly quickly for a profit, so that we cash in twice.

We are apparently in talks with Mo Sylla according to Scott Burns

Thought he resigned with Liverpool recently.

A good defensive midfielder who puts himself about. Popular in Dundee. Not everyone's Cup of tea though.

That sylla would be a definite upgrade on davor.

Where's Oor Graeme for a quick reminder, so that we can compare the two?

To be fair, we've been linked to 3 players so far (unless im missing someone), and 2 have signed already.

Scott Burns broke the sylla story, and he's usually spot on. Still, it's only just talks so that doesn't mean he'll sign.

As for the Miller to to OF stories, utter made up shite.

I’m assuming that Miller will be off soon, so I’m looking forward to us getting a nice hefty sum up front and the chance of some future add ons. I’m hoping we don’t squander any money on transfers but rather use it to be a bit more competitive on the salary front and enable us to better compete for some higher quality players.
To be honest if we can replace Miller with two or three better quality players than we currently have in our squad we won’t miss him that much. With the team and tactics we’ve had the last few years we have not got the best out of him. We basically restricted his ability to play to his full potential by the way we played and the “support” we provided around him.
So my comment about not missing him that much is a reflection on Motherwell FC and not on Miller. His talent and ability is there for everyone to to see but we were just never able to take full advantage of it.
