We still need some height and muscle up front though. That and a left back and hulking central defender and we're sorted. Armstrong please. Still hopeful. Perhaps, given that we're after a left back, we can entice an injury-free Pape Souaré back to the club as well.

I would have thought Armstrong would be easy to get had we wanted him , so I suspect we don't. Still amazed Kilmarnock haven't signed Harry Paton. Did we offer Paton a contract? weeyin
I'm not sure Armstrong fits the new gaffer's (or Wimmer's) preferred style, tbh. I'm not even sure we need a "big, powerful" striker as that also depends on the style preferences. There are a number of successful teams that don't use them. I would hope, however, he has ideas of his own and won't need to rely on loans from last season.
texanwellfan
I think having a big powerful striker in our squad would be good to have as an option. Always good to have different options to try during games or against different opposition or in varying weather and field conditions.

When we do have to take route one, as we will have to on occasion, or want to convert set pieces we'll struggle as it stands. Corner kicks too? Our defence isn't the biggest either and there's no Dan Casey now to cause havoc at corners. Also useful to have a big target man if opponents defend deeply and we have rely on high balls into their box. As Texan says, it good to be able to deploy different attacking options. Orinoco
looks like the left winger, come wing back, come left back, who apparently cant defend. Time will tell, as Mr Gent could not defend at first and developed. So here is hoping.

grizzlyg
Good to see another player in, now I try to find a pun around his name, all I can think of so far are the 1970 Sylvia Kristel films (sorry...before 9pm watershed) 🤪🤪

Orinoco
given he can play as wing back and has pace, opens up the option of playing with three center backs if the need arises.
grizzlyg
New signing has cheered me up as gutted about Glen Michael, growing up in the 70's, the man was a legend. They should show an old cavalcade episode with BIRRRRDMMANNNNNNNN and WON WON WON WONDER WHEELS! again, anyone under 35 will just assume I have had a meltdown

Spiderpig
3rd signing this week, things are moving along nicely, decent back up keeper next would be good, as Ward gives me the fear.
