I think if we see bids come in for any of our players from other Scottish clubs it will be just a hours before the deadline. They'll just want to try and rush us into making a decision and if we don't agree then they'll hope it will disrupt the player concerned for the rest of the season.  

 

With regards Walsh? I feel sorry for him.  I accept he is a Celtic player and they have the right to do as they please, but imo he's being screwed over big time.

Think some of these "rumours" are getting out of hand. Here's some ive came across the last few days

Callum ward being linked with teams in Norway and Iceland

My favourite stupid one is eythor being linked with teams in Turkey and Brazil even though he's just got here

Tawanda Rumours still going strong and apparently celtic are coming in with a bid as the big striker from bodoglimt is choosing Norwich (who could blame him)

The closer we get to the window, the bigger the offers will need to be. And double that, if it's a team in the same league.

With Bowie about to be moving on for 6 million plus add-ons, he has laid down a marker on valuations. Same age as JT. Scored less goals than JT this season. Both played for the national side.

Ward was playing in Finland before joining us and played for a Norwegian team before that (I think) so that's not all that far fetched.

I don’t see us selling any of our (key players) to another Scottish club in this window and hopefully not any window. Watt’s injury probably helped quell speculation about hm. 
With respect to Welsh, Celtic are really doing the dirty on him and messing us around as well. Again, reading what Celtic are saying, they apparently have no plans to play him and so will be paying him 10k a week for nothing. I just don’t get the point in what they are doing.

Probably depend how close to fitness he is. Sounds like Stuparevic has recovered now.

I’m more hoping for incoming news but obviously it makes sense to part with players who don’t appear to be part of our future plans and either save that money or put it to good use attracting or keeping people that we need. 
I’m sure quite a few people will know better than me but I get the impression that we are getting to a stage where our player base has a much lower number of players surplus to requirements amd that the ones we have all have something positive to contribute to squad strength. It seems like for several years we were Lucky if we had 11 decent players to Start games and any subs or injury fill ins were always significantly a weaker option. 
I’d say we have a squad with some better individual players but also that JBA’s approach has made it more conducive for players to perform better on the park.

Totally agree.

A much leaner meaner squad is the way we should be operating.

Be interesting to see if Robinson gets mutalled as well, or uf he will get a second chance to impress.

I wasn’t overly impressed with him but that was a totally different team/set up so if he impresses JBA in training he may well get a second chance.

Fair play, we got him back to fitness and now he has time to find a club. Wouldnt be surprised to see him at Raith with Imrie since he was good for him at Morton.

Hes celtics player and they can do what they like with him - that doesn't mean they aren't pricks.

 

I think the longer it goes on, its a case of who blinks 1st...10k a week from now until end of May is what, 200k? Absolutely nothing in the grand scheme of things to them but I reckon they're trying to squeeze us for a covering a higher % of his wage

Could be! Then Celtic can be telling him, “it’s not our fault, it’s those Motherwell bastards who won’t pay their share of your wages”. 
 I don’t know how the loan deals work but we had him on a season loan, with an option to recall him, obviously.  However, once they recall him is that the original deal/terms cancelled or are the original loan terms still active? Maybe depends on wording in the contract? 
   If they had any decency or integrity they would send him back to us to complete the loan deal as originally agreed upon rather than put the boy on the shelf for half a season.

I suspect when the loaned him to us, they weren't expecting us to be a direct competitor for a top 3 spot.

One reason they may want to hold on to him is they don't want to contribute to our improvement. And I actually would see the logic in that.

I think someone had a related comment a couple weeks ago on that same line of thought but saying it’s probably to Celtics advantage to have him play for us to increase chances of us beating other teams challenging Celtic amd of course we can’t use Welsh when we play Celtic.
